Hey FWIW I ended up taking the foams out of my EVO Pro (basically the same vehicle but the tires are 68mm OD vs this 60mm OD) and shaved VERY ROUGHLY 3mm off the OD with a sharp (new) Exacto knife razor blade and now the tires mimic the characteristics of my 1:10th tires with green Injora silicone inserts exactly; soft pliable outer tread and stiff sidewall.
Helis direct has these on sale for Columbus Day, $134. If you sign up to receive notifications, you get a code for another $10 off. $124 no tax, free shipping is a no brainer.
great looking crawler, looks pretty capable as well. that latch on the hood is pretty nifty. esc and chassis tuning seems like the new gold standard. other than tires i would just run it!
Nice video. Got my Katana ordered. Definitely gotta change those tires inserts! Those really hold this thing back. I’m looking forward to comparing it to the Fury Wagon. I am proud to say I love my Fury Wagon. One of the best out of the box mini crawlers available. Period.
great vid and timing is great. With all the updates brushless and shocks, now It makes my choices tougher, I was thinking evo pro ugh. and I do like this body better
Hi Adam, like always, interesting review. One question: does the rear drive shaft already counter rotate in stock form? Looking forward to get mine. Like the green a lot 👍🏻
What’s the likely good that the furitek 4ws conversion kit goes out of stock before next pay period? Asking for a broke friend that just bought a mini lmt
when you mentioned the counter-rotation driveshaft to rear... is that already installed? there seems to be conflicting info and no sense of how much torque twist there is. How did that esc and motor feel after continuous running? Reports of that combo over heating and that venom just not doing well.
Well this thing looks really good. Is now on the list for which one I want to get first. Are you thinking about rebuilding your course? It looks to me like you Doug a good size hole up near the top there in your foam. I think they make a good winter project to maybe update or add a new section to your indoor course. Question is this RTR does it have bearings or brushes? Do you know if they offer a bearing kit for this RTR? Thank you for the great review. When you get some nice weather it would be great to see this out at the Rock course across the bicycle bridge.
I don't notice it on the katana. I'm not sure why because they're the same up front I believe. But I feel like the katana articulates much better than the furywagon.
They seem to reuse the old Hobby Plus bodies, first the Harvest body, and now the old CR-18 Kratos body, named Katana as the RocHobby LC80, the first one ;-) Why not the same cool new bodies Hobby Plus uses for the Evo Pro?
Absolutly correct. It's the old Kratos body. Since years company Absima sells it here in Switzerland, the whole crawler based on Hobby plus platform for 70CHF. Lol. Would be great, to see some really new designed bodies, but I think, we won't see them from Furitek. I personally expect more from this company with the high-end prices, than putting just new electronic in old riggs. And e.g. FMS or Injora show, that going brushless for stupid prices is not necessary.😊
@@JanSonnemann I know that the Kratos is super cheap now, as Absima (here, too, guess Amewi was before) - but when it was released some years ago, I paid 160 € for it ;-) Still, it is a cool truck and cool body, much prettier than the Harvest. Like it (have modded mine, and it is an awesome crawler with some mods - the "old" one without portals).
@@donaldsneffe Totally right. First it was sold as a comp-crawler, in stock just a joke. But with some modifikations really good with the lexan body. Bought mine some month ago on sale and happy with it. But in my opinion it's a bit annoing, that it is called all new, when it's not. And don't get me wrong, I love Furitek for all the stuff they developed for the little crawlers and have at least every brushless motor and esc from them. But with this rtr crawlers I get the feeling their target has changed from developing great products, worth the money to max out profit.
So I have a Scx24 gladiator highly modified and just got my Furitek cayman szk . My question is would u add this or the cayman 6x6 as a third mini crawler in the collection. I promised to just get one more and then save for my xmaxx or xrt to compliment my sledge.
For me the whole point of these micro crawlers is to customize and build them up so its unique to your own set up with body and parts and such. Coming already upgraded takes away half the fun and then model kit bodies not fitting on them removes more fun.
Oh I have to admit that was awesome, at the top of the escalator. I really didn’t think it was going to make it except to the floor. I love the looks of this jeep I love the front grill
I just purchased the grey f118 katana. Can someone confirm if 70mm tires with 1.3 bead lock rims fit this body. Will they rub or should I be looking at getting an offset rim? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated as I am new to rc’s. Thanks!
The FX118 suffers an ugly body. At last, this issue is fixed. 😊 All other differences do not seem so huge. An angle on the belly, more room around the servo, nothing else...
as a jeep owner.. i hate that dumb angry grill and that weird hood latch. while i like the idea of a single latch on the hood, make it look appealing lmao cool little rig otherwise

Great vid. I am getting one. What tires and wheels upgrade are you thinking?
I also want to know what tires and wheels you gonna go with I just ordered my katana 2 days ago I'm so EXCITED 🎉
The brushless RTR crawlers are heating up! This is a great thing!
Would love to see a size comparison between this the TRX4Ms and the FMS FCX18.
Great review👍 The Katana looks like a solid 18th scale contender. I like this body styling over the Fury Wagon.
Great vid! Love the new Katana. Looking forward to your upgrade vid on this rig.

Popped here to check out the vid since they are blowing these out for 99.99 seems almost to good. the 40$ shipping hurts but might still splurge

Looks like a brushless evo pro with different tires and body nice
My next RC purchase... Thanks for the review!!
Just getting in to it and found your channel you do a good job of learning about this 💪👍

This looks like what I wanted when I bought my gladiator. Great video thanks.

My first 10th scale crawler had the same body, only in blue. This thing looks sharp
great vid and timing is great. With all the updates brushless and shocks, now It makes my choices tougher, I was thinking evo pro ugh. and I do like this body better
Same
This is the best looking rtr 1/18 yet (in my opinion) great job showing it off as usual Adam
Exact same body as the Hobby Plus Kratos. Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing. Gonna get one when avaliable in the uk!
Hi Adam, like always, interesting review. One question: does the rear drive shaft already counter rotate in stock form? Looking forward to get mine. Like the green a lot 👍🏻
Great Vid! Can you do a comparison between the FX118 Katana vs the CR18 evo pro? Please and thank you.
Yes please! Thanks Adam
Really like my Fury Wagon Fx118 and this is just as awesome 👌
So is it the tires or is the evo pro the better rtr ?
I would like to see a side by side of this truck vs the scx24 you just built.
I wonder if this also has bushings throughout instead of bearings
Yeah, looks like it's all bushings. They do offer a bearing kit.
@@erikj.8501 yes. I have it for the CR 18p Evo pro
How does it compare, performance wise, to the cr18 evo?
This is what I’m waiting for too before i buy. Adam please do a comparison
What’s the likely good that the furitek 4ws conversion kit goes out of stock before next pay period? Asking for a broke friend that just bought a mini lmt
Recommendation for wheels and tires from me is the 1.3 injora Swamp claws with the silver and black rims
Just when I thought i would never buy another rtr 😮😊
Looks good but did they have to put a grumper on it? I'm sure it helps with trademark issues but gosh it's ugly.

Is there a 2 speed for this car?
What upgrades are about for metal steering links and suspension arms? Or what other makes parts would fit? If anyone knows
Wow, that is a very good deal.

If you get the new fcx10 can you do a review on it ?
Got the video ready to go 👌🏻
Does the Katana have same problem with servo hitting the chassis on one side articulation as furywagon?
I don't notice it on the katana. I'm not sure why because they're the same up front I believe. But I feel like the katana articulates much better than the furywagon.
Great video i really want that truck imma order one asap
Torn between this one and the FXC18 LC80. Any suggestions? My dad has a UTB18 and I'd like to be able to join him!

More trx-4m builds!👌🏻🙂
It definitely looks more polished than the fury wagon. The fury wagon felt a little phoned in and just blasted with the parts cannon.
Are you going to do a build ?
Water resistant / waterproof?
Hey, thanks for the vid - I have the wagon, but I much prefer the Katana body - can I just swap them over?
Cheers 🤙
You would need some supporting hardware like the latches and hinges but I think it would work otherwise

I was number 1 to like this video 💯💪👍🤷😎🕶️ and second to comment on your TH-cam channel 💯
Not the first too comment brother man
Oh I have to admit that was awesome, at the top of the escalator. I really didn’t think it was going to make it except to the floor. I love the looks of this jeep I love the front grill
Should scale that thing out, put a spare tire on, a roof rack with scale accessories, a person could go super scale on this sucker, if wanted to.
Is there going to be more videos on the cr18p evo pro? I find it to be very capable but also want to mod it lol.
Yes. I love that thing. I’ll likely be doing a brushless conversion soon
Do you think Axial is going to come out with a brushless RTR crawler with portals in this scale?
I hope so. They’re getting beat up in the market right now. I would at least like to see an scx18 to keep up with the competition

Thanks! Went with 1inch brass bead lock with 64mm super softs with soft rubber tire inserts.
Please compare it to the evo pro please 🙏
Straight to my wishlist its just perfect maybe some better tires
cool video and cool crawler bro 🛻🛻
Very Nice Car😊🎉👌🏼
I'm just sitting here waiting for the budget upgrade video on this one to see where you take it!!! looks like a very nice RTR starter crawler!!
I've done wheels and tires and front portal covers and haven't felt the need to change anything else. Great performing, fun, and reliable
@@CapeCrawlers see thats why I mess with you bro !!!! gonna find that video right now!!! Glad you stuck with your channel man..

Put some hot racing double barrel friction shocks that thing would climb... no Springs BTW just proper positioning.

The angry grill is a pain point for me too 😆
add another rc to the wishlist...lol
It's not a jeep if it has four doors!.. just saying
It’s not a good 4wd if it’s a jeep or a ‘fake’ jeep anyway
