Phil, great video. Certainly well worth all YOUR WORK to me. I hope you & your loved ones have a great holiday season. I love the Limitless V2. The one I bought was a roller/slider & I ended up putting a Vette C8 body on it with Castle XLX2 & 1721 motor. I regret not using the Limitless body…I think it would have been more stable AND I actually like the Limitless body very much.
I jumped in on Rlaarlo’s 3rd anniversary sale and was able to get a 787 CF roller for $160 shipped. I’ve got a ton of other projects going on but I’m not far from being able to get this on the workbench and completed. This video is good motivation 👍
Loved this video , ive never speed ran a rc before so my heart was in my mouth watching you run it along that narrow road at full speed after seeing your videos at rossa and the size of the runway
Yip, thats probably the thing that's holding me back the most regarding the "perfect" run,- finding the perfect surface. It has to be level (not on a hill), flat (absolutely ZERO bumps) straight (no curves) and long enough. (at 100mph you travel nearly 50m/second) it takes time to get to top speed without just spinning the wheels.. It can be extremely frustrating. But also satisfying and rewarding in its own way.
First, keep playing with the Limitless, and you should easily get it into the mid 100s (the current record, if I remember correctly, is 218mph). As for Arrma ever releasing a Limitless RTR, "never say never"...it could still happen. Now, as for the AK-787, first, thank you greatly for mentioning Rlaarlo. Talk about a great up-and-coming company, production super high quality products, at very reasonable prices. Edison (the founder & CEO) is breaking new grounds with his "we care more about quality than profit margins" philosophy. As for the Dual-Motor AK-787, Rlaarlo just made 10 units available...and, once those 10 are sold, more WILL be available on a per-order/per-request basis. It should also be noted that, in addition to their dual motor upgrade kit (which allows owners of the single-motor AK-787 to convert it to dual-motor), they also now offer a Complete Dual-Motor Conversion Kit, which allows owners of the AK-917 to convert it to dual motor. On top of that, they offer the complete conversion kit with, or without, electronics (ie. a second Rlaarlo ESC & motor. Now, I'm sure, there will be some who read my last 2 paragraphs, and will say, "That's all and good, but the AK series of cars from Rlaarlo are only 1/10 scale. What about something bigger?" Well...I can't give away too much info...but, what I am allowed to confirm is that Rlaarlo IS working on something bigger. And, by 'bigger', I'm not referring to another large-scale crawler. Even better, Rlaarlo is getting close to making an 'official' announcement. Arrma, Hobao, and Traxxas, look in your rear-view mirror, as 'something' is headed your way...........
I am not a Traxxas fan boy or Traxxas hater, but from what I have seen, the X01 is kind of only good for those straight line runs. I may be wrong, but if that's the case, I would much rather go with any of the Arrma on road speed cars. I havent had a Limitless either, but my Infraction is easy to get those speeds, plus it can take some fun on road bashing. As far as the Rlaarlo, I haven't had any of their speed cars, but from what I have seen, if you want a 1/10 speed car, you can beat it for the price! Just my stupid opinion...that paint job is wonderful!
I was tight on cash about 6 months ago and sold my Infraction. Never missed an RC so much. Will be getting another this spring or may I be struck dead lol 😂
I'll probably just stick with my poor mans felony 7th scale , FTX SUPERFORZA GT cars , 4 in total in my collection . Over the recent sales and still currently you can pick up an FTX SUPERFIRZA GT for £450 , where'as I paid £479 & 475 for each of mine respectfully last year , I think 🤔 .
Maybe you should look up what the traxxas suing stuff was actually over and how they held back on a lot and only threatened in other clear and legitimate instances lol. Everyone online just parrots some half assed nonsense they saw others parroting from whoever made it all seem so big and bad. Shock news sells whether it’s true or not they’ll happily make it up for attention.
@@TomleyRC I had actually built a x0-1 to try and attempt the world fastest speed run with when they first came out I put over $10,000 dollars in to it converting it to dual motor 24s lipo system and the fastest I was able to get to run without catching air and losing control was 170mph
Thanks for all the effort in making your videos! I enjoy watching them and learn a bit more almost every video. If I may suggest it would be entertaining to see a comparison of the fastest rc's in your line up side by side, even more so on a track(if there's such a track for those speed breakers! I must admit , the limitless is one is one of the best looking speed cars out there , even if it's a roller . What a beautiful toy. I get why Arrma keeps it a roller. We buy it for speed runs, and I believe zero speed runners will be satisfied with RTR electronics. Maybe if they team with Castle or proper Hobbywing stuff.
I think its more along the lines of most people have no where to run the XO-1 or the Limitless, that's why no one has gone after the "fastest" title. For that matter, the couple off road race tracks around me are not big enough to push the short course trucks much over 30mph. And except for the airport, I can't think of a road in good enough shape with low amounts of traffic within a hundred miles you could push the speed run cars over 70 maybe 80 before they get airborne or tear themselves apart.

Hopefully!
@@TomleyRCI hope the rest of the 6s line gets the V6 upgrades. Especially the xl wb models. Fireteam, Mojave, and Infraction are my favorites.
Your videos are always great bro Also it seems like if the UK weather was a meme. It would just be a teardrop.😢
Haha.. yep, that’s sums it up pretty well 😅
Paint job looks sick tbh
Rlaarlo ak787 dual motor will do over 120mph with just a gear up. Fastest thing you can buy right now
Yes, they are so good… and to think it was their own chassis and not ‘off the shelf’
@@TomleyRC fun thing is it'll break 100 on a single 3s pack. I average just over 105 on 3s with my ak917
@ they are so good 🤘
