I have the Redcat. It has been very nice so far, especially for my first RC crawler. This past weekend I discovered that the suspension links are not very strong. Many people in my local club have broken them in the same spot. Fortunately, there are upgrade options available now and mine are on the way. Definitely not a reason to dismiss the Ascent 18. Looking forward to using it some more.
Great video, beautiful scenery there for me it would be between the cat and the evo pro and I'm probably leaning towards the Redcat... I'm waiting on mine to get in since they out of them right now but I'm patiently waiting... LOL
Fantastic location, was a very nice drive. All 3 looked very capable. Awaiting arrival of the evo pro brushless, moment of weaknesses, as trying to save, if had the money and ascent was available to UK, I'd have all 3 😂 The only thing I'm worried about with the evo, is getting rid of that slack in the drivetrain, 🤔 we will see...🤷♂️ lol 😎👍
@@RickysGarageVibes I heard there is a v2 axle which connects to the other output to help with the torque twist, or some have used an fcx axle? Which also helps with slop in drivetrain iirc. Will check back and see how you get on with your upgrades, good luck 😎👍
It’s in a different class then the other two but the Evo is a line slayer I have the brushless version with a ton of upgrades & it’s probably my most capable mini crawler as far as just climbs I have. I’d like to see it go up again some custom 18 scale LCG chassis.
The redcat ascent 18 is amazing, i got brass wheels for it before i even got it, installed them on it and its a perfect truck, maybe the battery placemnt could be switched around along with maybe different shock/ positioning and whatnot. But overall is a beast. I have an scx 24 with thats fully custom stransmitter and everything minus the stock tranny. And the ascent almost out preforms it, however the scx24 chassis is an lcg...
Running a rampcrab cf chassis, injora pretty much everything else except for the servo, links and im running a fly sky gt5 and the reciever it comes with i forget the model name.
the katana needed way to much help lol so all the advanced features from furitek couldnt beat the redcat.i think the fury wagon would be better comparison and is overall better than the katana but still hard to beat the redcat .i like the furywagon but its over priced should be 149.00 i see them on sale for this price but it should always be that price for 119.00 the redcat just is the best deal in the 18 scale.other companies cant compete with such a good deal.redcat king of the mountain evo pro wasnt bad but more money.thanks for the video
Tbh i cant understand what everyone sees in redcat. It has tiny wheels, its really top heavy, shocks got almost no sag and compnents are placed to the rear of the vehicle... All the bad choices for the crawling. On the other hand, Evo is the most comp ready rig of all the 18th scale RTRs. Its insane how good its made and they thought out every possible detail ( the things has like 10 different holes for shock mounting.)

I hear you @waggy401🤝 I've broken one as well, I'm replacing w metal
So in your opinion which one has the best performance and which one has best potential
I also own an ascent 18, great crawler for the money, just added a set of maxis torpedos to it and it can't be stopped. Absolutely love it.
Agreed @nickglenn5084🤝
The labels on the trucks in your thumbnail are labeled wrong.
Great eye! Thanks and fixed!
Outstanding comparison, well worth the length of the video.
Make the same mods on all three and give it another go.
Subscribed so I don't miss it!

Thanks @simplymentalOG! The torque twist on the EVP PRO has to be fixed ... some weights and overdrives gears are my next change

Agreed @miguelcandelaria460🤝!!!
Cr18 pro brushless version is KING OF 18 scale
I know right, looks the most comp ready out of the 3

Bro you had your put a rock there so it could make the first climb
Absima cr18 evo brushless is even better, its european version of that hobbyplus
