I really appreciate you taking the time to discuss this press and it is positive videos like this that prompted me to buy one just yesterday as they have finally hit the market. I do hope the proprietary bullet feeder system comes soon. They clearly designed this for reloaders but could have made it easier on us new brass guys who don't need to swage or need two de-primer stations, with a slightly different second design option where powder drop is in station 6 vs 7. Then we could pair it today with a proven Mr Bullet Feeder and still powder ck, feed bullets, seat and crimp, all separately which is important in a larger production operation.
Th m you for the comment and congrats on the new press. FA has made a powder measure relocation kit that will move it to station 6 for you to run a powder check and MR bullet feeder. I thank you once again for the comment.
@@40caliber101 That would be a game changer at least until such time they provide the proprietary bullet feeder which I fear will be months down the road, but hope not since it is about half the cost of the Mr Bullet Feeder and may work better on this press. I don't see the relocation kit on the Frankford website or on Midway. Any suggestions as to how to obtain one? And thanks once again.
@@jamesa5720 the relocation set up is in the prototype stage right now. Not sure when it will be available but I will let you know. They bullet feeder will be a great option because it comes with the seating die with it. I will be getting one to do a review on when they finally release them.
u dont have to use the janky powder measure i like lee is simple and works u donnt have use there in that station u can put it anywhere u want if u use someone else powder measiure
I’m not loving mine right now! This powder measure is trash the way it came to me. Cleaned it and set it up and it barely operates with H110. Tolerances are garbage on the one I received. Set screw for the micrometer (which is loosey goosey) doesn’t set anything, so if you touch it while adjusting something else it throws off the weight
Thank you for the view and comment. No I have not had to replace any parts. My press is all still original as it came from FA. I have put over 1500 rounds through the press without any problems or parts breaking. Thank you once again. Please subscribe.
As of 8 / 26. Optics planet. Midsouth brownells. Cabela’s. Also have these for $999. I have the bullet feeder and conversion kit ordered but they arent in stock. Looks like those might be a while still.
I'm looking to get my first press. I don't know if I should go with a single stage press or just get this and not regret it later. You mentioned it comes set up for small and large pistol. Could you do small rifle calibers out of the box? I'm trying to load 5.56, .300 blk, and 9mm
If you’re looking to load multiple calibers I would get this press. All you have to do is buy multiple shell plates. They’re only an extra $80 each. It will be worth getting the X-10.
Yes it comes set up for both large and small rifle/pistol priming, rifle and pistol case feed and loading. So yes you can load small rifle out of the box and large rifle out of the box.
I would never recommend a progressive press for a first press. I would get either a single or turret. That way you can learn each step of reloading and things like how to set up and what each die does how different powders meter proper feel for setting a primer etc With a progressive press there’s so many things going on it can be hard to set up for a new reloader and there’s much more room to get your self in trouble. Both Lyman RCBS and Lee offer really good single stage and turret kits. I’m partial to the Lyman turret kit. You can turn out a good amount of ammo with a turret and it’s kind of the best of both worlds and it’s great training for a progressive as you still do each step but without the need for changing dies and you can use things like inline powder charging and even play around with an inline bullet feeder. Plus load development is a pain on a progressive. I do all load development on a single stage or turret as I may be loading 20rd groups with each group making a small change in powder charge ect and for semiauto stuff there’s no point in setting up a progressive until you develop and test the ammo for proper function (one time I used a load someone suggested and listed in multiple manuals I loaded 500rds without function testing and they would not cycle and constant FTF and FTE where if I would of loaded 25-50 on my turret and tested I would of saved time money and frustration. One more thing if you load anything big 308 (yes 308 class case are not big but I’m talking about force needed to resize) or bigger progressive presses struggle a little bit. Please you do you and this is just my opinion and isn’t worth much but I’ve been reloading for 30 years and I still get a little frustrated when setting up a progressive. Another option that would really get you set up and still be in the price range of this press would be the Lyman ultimate turret press kit and a lee 6 pack pro 6000 progressive. The Lyman kit pretty much covers everything you’ll need then the lee will get your feet wet in the progressive world
I don't care about the hard stop on the powder measure. My plan on this press, if I decide to purchase one, is to use a case-activated powder measure on 6th station so I can use a powder checker, bullet feeder, bullet seater, and crimper... Do you see any reason why this plan wouldn't work? Tnx...
From what I understand is that FA is coming out with a conversion kit for the powder measure so you can move it to the 6th station for that particular reason. I hope this answered your question. Thank you.
I just wanted to inform you that the X-10 is back instock on Frankford Arsenal’s website. it comes with a free powder scale. Use my affiliate link in the discription to purchase. I hope you get one and enjoy it!!!!!

This press really is amazing. You will not be disappointed. The wait is worth it.
They’re on sale for $1000 right now. I’m curious if that’s because they’re having a lot of issues with them.
The market price is $1199 but the street price is $999. It depends on where you buy it. Sheels had them in stock for the market price right now.
The damn things are probably going to sell out before I notice the email when they open up sale to the public
Midway USA should be receiving more soon for purchase. I will update you when available.

The biggest caliber you can do is .308.

I guess if I was young again it would be interesting to have this press. But if I was young again the price might keep me from buying 😂
no demostration. this means nothing without showing how it works actually reloading on it. nothing amazing just looking at it.
I will be making another video of the function of the press. I will be reloading some 9mm Ammo in the next video.
