I'd say that Serena Williams is, without a doubt, the best female tennis player of all time, with Venus Williams coming in as second best and Martina Navratilova in third. They are the elite. I’m not sure how you’ve gotten sports & employment confused but the video is clearly about sports not employment. There has to be legislation in place to help minority groups further advance themselves you do understand that right? Women, Blacks, Hispanics Native Americans & any other ethnicity other than white males need all the help they can get if they are going to succeed in business. The civil rights movement to protect minorities from oppression & discrimination is one of the most defining points in American history.

Been a middle school science teacher and high school coach in football, wrestling and track for 35 years. Yes, at a young age, some girls can compete with boys of the same age or younger. I've had girls beat several boys in arm wrestling for instance in 8th grade. BUT, once they move into high school and biology takes over, an equally trained boy will beat a girl 99% of the time in any sport, period, end of conversation. Anyone who says any different is flat out lying or just plain delusional!

There is one major flaw in this argument, and that is the far-too-narrow focus on puberty. That is in fact dangerous right now as some people are vehemently pushing chemical castration and disrupting healthy child development using 'puberty blockers' experimentally on young children, and using arguments such as yours to support it.
While it is true that many girls compete successfully with boys prior to adolescent development, it is still true that boys have physical advantages even at that age for many sports, it's just not as profound. For demonstration's sake, say 30% of girls can hold their own and 20% can win (of course depending on the sport). That still favors boys disproportionately.
Because girls tend to start changing first, there is a time between 10-13 that girls have an advantage against same age boys.
As soon as the boys hit puberty, it is over. There is no competition anymore

As the father of five girls, and 12 granddaughters, EXPERIENCE teaches me that girls must be good at something. They need victories in order to grow into the best person they can be. Pitting them against males pretending to be females in sports destroys that opportunity.

Even when they win at that sport? As a former female wrestler who wrestled co-ed, not trans people on hormones, CO-ED....and still won some and lost some....I know it's not as simple as every boy is naturally better at everything than girls so they just shouldn't play or compete together. I know plenty of woman including myself who have won competitions one on on, and team sports, against males. It is what it is, but what it's not is automatically unfair. I wish the conversation would expand to embracing that sometimes men are born with slight builds and sometimes woman are born with muscular builds and they can Excell in sports regardless outside of Olympic or competition that allows testosterone and other drugs to be added to gain an advantage. This argument works with athletes that are natty not on steroids or hormone boosters. but that's another conversation.
Roby’s experience is the EXCEPTION not the rule. Pretending the exception IS enough to make policy results in bad policy and an even worse practice.
I'm sorry but the only reason you feel I'm the exception here is due to group think. Only exposing yourself to media that demonizes trans people even when they still lose to bio women. I'm not here to change your mind. But I am not a random miracle woman, I'm a regular average build woman who could wrestle and knows plenty of other women who have beat men at fair competition. Not some statistical anomaly. There could be better conversations had about the real issues that separate the genders in competition. Ignoring the real stats on trans people as well as women's victories in coed sports isn't helping solve the problem.

Serena is right. I was a tennis player growing up. I played a practice set against the number one girl in the country. I beat her 6-2 pretty easily. I was 14 years old and was average nationally. She couldn’t handle any of my spin and she wasn’t even mad. Ask ANY female athlete, none of them will tell you what that weirdo just said.

@@marciostavares There was also the Connors v Navratilova match, which had Connors handicapped by only getting 1 serve per pervice point and by giving Navratilova the doubles lines to hit within. she lost. And that's obviously no disrespect to Navratilova, who was a great player.
My 14 year old daughter believed this nonsense about there being no physical differences between the sexes and then reality struck when she was put in a headlock that she couldn't escape when play fighting with a 5 year old boy.

Riley straight up called the democrat a "misogynist". That woman fumed and glared, just simmering in rage, and partway into the next congressperson, she interrupted their time and demanded that Riley Gaines testimony be stricken because "she's dealing in personalities". Of course, her petty revenge ploy was denied, but watching that Democrat get stuffed like she did was priceless.

It's already ugly for the ladies in professional disc golf. There are some men competing in the FPO - Female Professional Open division, basically stealing prize money as well as decreasing sponsorship funding from lower ranked real females. They aren't better than some of the real ladies though, and wouldn't be able to cash in the MPO which stands for Mixed Professional Open meaning male or females can compete. I think the mixed is perfect for them since their minds are that.
All women need to stand together and if there is someone other than a woman competing, the women refuse to run, swim, bike, play…..
It's already gotten ugly for many women in sports. This travesty should never have been allowed to happen and that it's taking this long to stop is disheartening.

Riley may have started off as a swimmer but she was placed there just to find her real calling as the saviour of women and the men that believe in what a true woman is. I have no doubt whatsoever that she sees her real purpose in life and she will become a force to deal with in years to come. We are a going to hear a lot more from this young woman for a very long time.

It is great that she has a platform, but she only has it because she got beat by a man on a national stage. She is not saying anything special. In fact, what she is saying is simply what was the "norm" for thousands of years. Too many people are too quick to lift people up as opposed to focusing on their message. That's the problem with American's current culture of idolization.
I completely agree. She speaks with the backing of common sense and truth and she is unafraid to stand up and speak out as a leader should.
She's not "for" anything....she's just "anti" trans women in sports because she tied for fifth place in the 200 yard freestyle (an event that neither one of them had any shot of winning anyway). I give her credit for using her victimhood to its fullest potential though - she'll have many job offers out of college, I'm sure. However, I doubt anyone will listen to her outside of this one tiny issue. What else does she have to say? .....nothing so far. no credibility otherwise.
But that only matters if you actually listen to a person's words and weigh them against potential biases the speaker may have.
Unfortunately, for Conservatives, they tend to vote against issues rather than vote in favor of anything aligned with their values or best interests. If you're a political candidate, the fastest way to a "conservative's heart" and earn their votes is to target a particular group of people and express your hate for that group publicly.....it's a recipe to create an instant batch of dumb and blind followers.
If Riley Gaines had the guts to refuse to compete against Men I would have some respect for her.

He may have been, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Serena, the best female tennis player of all time, would never win against the top men's tennis players. In fact, we may never see another female player as good as she has been....she's that good. My husband and I played tennis in a weekly couples league. Sometimes he and I would play a game. Let me tell you, the power of a male serve is unbelievable. Men are much stronger than women.

The speed of the racket increases the farther from the pivot point it is (shoulder/body center), and therefore supplies more force against the ball. Two people of the very same strength but of different heights and arm lengths will have very different serve power.

But they still don’t match even skinny, less muscled men in serve power. This whole debate is beyond ridiculous. If there really were no physical difference between men and women we would have women under the delusion that they are men playing against biological men, but that doesn’t happen for a reason.
