She was respectful but she seemed to have the same problem with conservatives that most leftists apparently have. They think that because we disagree with someone that means that we hate them and we intend to shout at them or beat them up or even kill them. Not to put too fine a point on it, but this is not the behavior of people on the right. But it sure has been exhibited time after time after time to be the behavior of people on the left. They seem to feel that it is their DUTY to beat the hell out of someone if that person disagrees with them.
@@maryannanderson7517 wtf, she showed no signs of anger nor wanting to beat up Ben. it sounds like you are assuming that ALL leftists are angry and violent people, which many are. Larry L don’t blame the girl. Blame the institutions that put these things in her head. She has a right to ask questions no matter how ignorant. That’s how people learn. Her willingness to even listen to Ben should be respected. Too often that’s not the case.
Yeah I noticed that as well. Not a good title. She's obviously liberal but leftist has such a negative connotation to it and I think we'd be better off with more liberals like her.
Yeess. I've been enjoying the dialogue between Ben and others, but the hooting and hollering from the crowd everytime he "owns" someone's point is just irritating and childish.
@Joseph Smith Never said it wasn't, but this is where some need to evaluate their priorities. The point of a debate is to convince the other party of why your point is right, and if the crowd is louder than the host himself, it seems like y'all are more focused on being right than teaching and guiding.
@@carldrexler1279 with human rights involved, yes there is no problem with the crowd supporting Ben. However, it is childish and inappropriate for a professional debate. and Byrdland57 never said only for Shapiro, you are bringing a stupid point into this by saying that it would have been different if they where cheering for the girl, it wouldn't have been different, it would still have been childish and immature.
That girl had her head screwed on, she can be proud of the way she thinks conducts herself, we can all come understand eachother, being civil is key in any discussion, she was civil and respectful. Thus got Bens respect back.
I found her to be a typical monochromatic example of leftist indoctrination. Note the use of labels and buzzwords that she kept repeating over and over, and trying to create ridiculous straw man arguments in order to create a gotcha moment.
She seemed to be genuinely interested in learning more about what Ben thinks and why. I could have done without all the cheering. We need a LOT more of this.
Agreed. Even though I generally agreed with what the audience was cheering for, it bothered me immensely, because that sort of thing can make the person asking questions feel outnumbered and cornered and subconsciously make her become incredibly defensive. She was being very respectful and articulate. That's a rarity in this day and age and should be rewarded with like respect. Ben was giving it to her. The audience was not. Shame on the audience.
Boaman5435 TheAnacondaLover you’re rude for taking my bag yesterday, angry 😡. Yes I know it was you, I even gave you some pencils in your locker in return.
Michael Willever nah man with liberals they always like to make a show out of themselves this girl had enough sense that Ben was going to get the support from the crowd so she played damage control for the entire debate
The title of this video increases division. She isn't leftist. She has liberal thought processes, and that is no worse or better than conservative opinions. As a liberal, this was some of the most respectful conversation I've heard in a while.
It’s Woman like this lady and sensible people like you that give me hope for the Liberal movement. I abandoned it a couple of years ago because of the extreme far-left who have forced their views on others through cancel culture. I am centre right now and hope the divisive extremism on both sides will subside. I personally believe in supporting Womens rights, Reducing Tax waste, Fiscal conservatism, Freedom of speech - including that compelled speech is a breach of individual rights, and Biological Science. I don’t want biological men getting changed around five year old young girls getting changed. I feel it’s deeply inappropriate. That doesn’t mean I don’t value someone’s right to enjoy their life. I just feel young girls have a right to privacy when they are getting changed if they feel uncomfortable with a guy getting his private parts out around them.
@ agreed. I’d say while I swing left here and there, depending on policy, I find myself more and more in a moderate/centrist stance as of late. And overall I also do not enjoy the heavy handedness with which the liberal movement tries to impose its thoughts across all aspects of our society. America is a big country. People forget it’s not just about the coasts, and people forget that each state and its people matter. We’re not the United States of America without all our people and states. And if for the moment we need to try something new, then so be it. Let’s give it a try. Ultimately, you, me and everyone else in this nation are on the same side.
@@Nicolos117 he could have just answered the question directly. the question was basically: Might your work inherently (without it being your intention) influence someone on the far right to take violent actions? Why not just say something like: Any person who is already motivated to act violently on their personal beliefs can become influenced by the smallest statements. I for sure agree. I'm left leaning on most things, especially when it comes to certain liberal policies in the social sphere. I like Ben a lot. He's a smart dude, says what he means and does what he says. I would have liked to see a more personal debate or interview between the two.
omg AN ADULT CONVERSATION! HOW RARE! girl: "hey i disagree with what you said about _____." ben: "alright thats fine this is why i think this way..." girl: "i see why you think that now, thanks for this dialogue." ben: "i appreciate you coming out"
Just don’t care for it when people ”talk over” the other person. Give each other respect & listen. As we all know, some people just can’t keep their mouth closed or their opinion to themselves.
its hard to have this kaind of debate when someone is yelling in the background that he's feeling are hurt when all you did that you simply gave him a basic biological study(facts)...
That's how you know she is still a young naive girl. Not saying she is wrong, but somehow being naive and kind on certain times is seen as a weakness and stupid. More "experienced" would start yelling, mocking etc. Even though they might be wrong.

This young woman is extremely civil and outgoing, she isnt there to disrupt or theaten anyone that is why Ben gives her much more respect than others that ask questions. She was polite and kind, asked good questions and knew how to engage in a conversation. Thats why people are comending her in the comments. While most people are civilized and kind to others the people that come to Ben’s shows ask dumb leftist questions trying to just prove a point and move on rather than debating. Thats the reason people are rooting for this young women. ✌🏻

R Parker you’re a diamond in the rough with that viewpoint in my opinion. Political leanings hold too much value to people and it just perplexes me how people think that leanings mean that you automatically believe in a metaphorical list of ideas or talking points associated with either “side”. It is seriously childish in a way, yet I see grown adults partaking in this more than anyone. It is beyond my comprehension how some people can just eradicate their own thought processes by basically hiring an ideology to think for them like a financial manager.
Honestly I am blown away by how nice she was. She got her points across, asked intelligent questions, and I think genuinely tried to understand Ben's beliefs. Mutual respect and love, I wish more people were like her
i really hate the audience. although im on ben's side, but clapping like that could make the girl feel insecure and afraid to fully express her point perfectly. she was just trying to ask, learn and exchange dialogues.
College students are very smart and have a lot to say. Plus they’re adults so they should know how to defend their position. If you’re going up against someone like Ben Shapiro or Matt Walsh, it’s a really good idea to have your facts straight and actually know what you are talking about.
She got her point across, and her question, respectfully. Obviously an intelligent young lady. THEREFORE, she got the same back. That’s how it should be done.

There is not enough evidence in this video for me to describe her as intelligent, what was a sign of not being intelligent is her not even understanding what “phobia” actually means. I also am led to believe based on how she talked about Ben’s take on trans people that she believes that a man can be a woman and that a woman can be a man, so I would say another sign that she may not be intelligent is that she doesn’t understand basic biology. If all it takes to be intelligent is that you can speak normally then that is one reason why the world is how it is now. What I would like now from you is to know why you assume I think I’m intelligent just based on my short comment?

Thing is poster just assumes that anyone who might disagree with Ben Shapiro must be leftist as if that is the worst thing you can be in USA... She didn't really express much of her political believes to assume her political alignment at all.
Agreed yet It takes both sides to be respectful, and seldom do you see that respect given from the left. Personally, I feel that 99.99% of us who do not agree with teaching gender studies to elementary-age kids or want Trans story hour in our libraries, male-born athletes competing in women's sports etc, wish any ill will on those who suffer from gender dysphoria. We simply do not wish to have their beliefs imposed on us or our kids.
Sometimes I wish Ben’s supporters wouldn’t cheer when they do. Because Ben is a very smart, logical, fact based guy and there’s a chance he can get through to those who disagree. And we should respect the woman who stood up surrounded by people who disagree with her to try and learn in a civil way. So when Ben is calmly explaining a point like when he says something like a man is a man and woman is a woman, and all his supporters cheer, it feels unprofessional and like its her vs 1000 people instead of her vs Ben having a personal conversation. Not a big deal, but letting the person feel like it’s them and Ben alone having a chat feels like the best way to get through to people. Idk
don’t worry bout it get real, the right wants debate and discussion, look at reality, it’s the left that censors and prevents speakers and free speech. Either you’re ignorant of the blatant facts or a troll.

Yeah. That title is exactly what I hate about the Right. I'm on the right but I've just grown so tired of identity politics and ad hominem and strawman arguments. This was great, huge props to the girl who went up and asked her questions!! She didn't get offended at all and was reasonable with everything Ben threw back at her. This is how conversations, discussions, etc. should be!
You’re giving her too much credit for not shouting like a looney. While it is more respectable to talk in a calm tone her words were no more productive. She refused to agree upon already set definitions and therefore tried to turn the debate in her favor by twisting Bens words and therefore ideas. No debate is possible without using precise language
Very cool girl, I love that you can clearly see she's out there to find answers, instead of attacking/pushing own agenda. I wish there were more people like her.
Same. Generally I feel like politics are becoming more and more about "beating" the other side than to find solutions. But I see this in both sides tbh, take Ben's fans here in this video for example who would applaud no matter what he'd say, just to "show that libtard girl" or whatever. And the exact same goes for the iconic, screeching and offended left. But I'm happy to see that there are people - regardless of on which side they are on - who agree with me in these terms. (This kinda turned out longer than expected... sry)
Yeah, it's civil in the sense that no one is going apeshit nuts, but she's basically asking him at the end whether or not he's sure he's never told his listeners to kill gay people. How civil would your wife or husband think it is if you asked them whether or not they were sleeping around, let alone being a murderer or accomplice to murder? Probably wouldn't find that too civil. The fact is that her line of questioning, despite being calm, is completely uncivil. Ben would have every right to be extremely offended at what she is implying, but he suppresses that in order to have a discussion.
Theresa Bagley your original point is valid. The histrionics of the ppl claiming this young lady is actually being subtly aggressive are overwrought. She researched Ben S and his views and asked him hard questions she had. And he responded well. That is how debate and discovery SHOULD be done and that is why he told her at the end with genuine inflection that he really appreciated her. Coming out of far left ideology is a complicated long process and this young lady may well find her way if she continues engaging. As long as she doesn’t run into too many far right softies who get their ‘feels’ hurt by a couple tough questions or concepts. The arena of ideas is a rough and tumble place (not for certain faint of heart youtube dweebs) and these two did it better than most as you and others rightly discerned.

It's so annoying when the crowd acts as if somebody just got owned when in reality a respectable conversation is taking place. It's common for crowds to do this, on both sides of the the aisle. I feel like Ben should do a video on how to interpret different kinds of political dialogues or something.
This woman presented everything very intelligently and without ignorance. She was not rude or anything. I agree with Ben, but I certainly respect her manner of questioning with class. 🙂

Nothing intelligent or civil about being an uneducated moron trying to play a gotcha game with someone who’s view points she didn’t even comprehend. She put the responsibility on him to answer with complete accuracy and civility by trying to pin him into a corner with her personal definitions. Trying to box someone in to wrote responses based on incorrect assumptions and definitions is not civil and is no more having a true dialog than yelling at someone. She tried to use vague words (which aren’t vague btw transphobic literally means afraid of trans people) to twist his ideas. Given the time he should have had her scrap the word transphobic and had her describe exactly what she meant. She would have been unable to do so because if she were to have to put her thoughts into coherent language it would be clear she did not have ground to stand on. She didn’t even understand the language she was using and is therefore incapable of true dialogue. Before a discussion can happen we have to agree on what words mean without that there is no hope. she was a complete moron and if you think she sounded intelligent I feel bad for you
Where was her intelligence in saying at 8.14 "I dont know of any particular cases, where Ben has told me to literally go murder trans...". What she was really saying is this, you must accept transgender people as the sex they want to be. if you dont you are only using your platform to inciting hatred and violence towards them. its a very typical thing a far lefty would say in order to silence you, and shut down the truth. Ben dont hate transgender people he has made it clear people can be who they want as long as there is no compulsion to play along with the pretence. It would be like me waking up one morning saying i am a white man and expecting everyone else to believe in my delusion.
Passive aggressive and her dialogue was planned , probably by a group of people. you could see her whole speech was thrown off once Ben asked her if she listened. Its not respectful to bring up peoples mistakes from years ago that they have already apologized for., in an attempt to shame them

Well isn't that ironic, because one of the big things that Ben likes to do when it comes to trans people is hear for example a trans woman say "I am a woman" and then proceed to pretend that by that she meant that she has XX-chromosomes or something else that isn't true, when that's absolutely not what anyone means when they say that a trans woman is a woman. Then Ben uses this misrepresentation to spread the claim that trans people are delusional, which many transphobic people use as further justification to be hateful towards trans people. So what Ben should say and internalize is: "Political debate requires that you talk to people and make an effort to understanding what they mean by what they're saying, not misinterpret what they're saying and then help your misinterpretation to be used as hatred-fuel towards your opposition."
@lasaret Not really ironic because he does know what people mean when they say that, and he isn't going to do violence because of it. Accepting what people say as the truth isn't the same thing and he simply isn't going to so easily allow extremists to redefine words and change our language for political gain. For pretty much ever, everyone knew gender to mean your biological sex. Now extremists instead of wanting to use a diversified and accurate language with different words for different specific meanings want to just blend and redefine words.
@Bobby Rau but he doesn't, because he thinks or pretends to think that people are saying that they can change their chromosomes when no-one has ever said that. And he isn't doing violence because of it, but some of the transphobic people who listen to him are going to do violence or be hateful in some other manner. If he is too triggered about people using different definitions than him then he can surely first acknowledge that he is using different definitions than the people he is talking about instead of just flat out strawmanning them. You do realize that you're basically defending strawmanning here, right?
Agreed. l like that even though Shapiro has seemingly rigid religious beliefs and very strong views, it's a sign of maturity he is able to remain open enough for the sake of good conversation.

This is a young woman. Who approached, asked her questions, got her answers, didn't make a fool of herself, and walked off with more knowledge than she came with. This is what this is about. More people should be like this young lady.
Yeah. I would'n say the jewish guy on the stand did very well in talking back to her and answering her questions. He seemed very full of him self. And like she should know everything about him. he's quite ignorant by saying "I dont have to teach my children that men can be women." nobody is telling him to, we're just telling him to be respectful and professional.
Yuume Kuromiya .... what exactly does Shapiro do here that is disrespectful or unprofessional in your view? Do you just think he “sounds mean” when he’s making points? At the beginning of the video he talks about how it’s a good thing that people disagree with him, since that allows for a dialogue to happen. Seems pretty respectful and professional to me. Also, he said if he was out to dinner with a trans person, he wouldn’t make it a point to call them by their biological sex, since that would be impolite. That’s being respectful. Are you sure you watched this whole video?

I agree. All opinions aside, I really hate when people cheer and clap after statements. This creates more of a sensational environment rather than an environment of pure debate. If those with dissenting ideas feel a lot of pressure from the crowd, the field is no longer even. I agree with almost everything Ben says, but can his fans just listen without acting like they are at a football game?
I genuinely appreciate the fact that she was willing and able to have a civil debate with him. So many of the people that ask him questions try to attack him verbally, and corner him with questions, and then refuse to let him speak by yelling their points at him. I'm glad she was actually letting him speak, despite disagreeing with his point.

@Joseph Smith Never said it wasn't, but this is where some need to evaluate their priorities.
(This kinda turned out longer than expected... sry)
I really liked this, it was a very civil dialogue between them both.
I guess you have a point. I didn't think of it that way, but I can definitely see what you mean.

Until that last question. That was over the top, well then again this isn't a sane world.
Indeed. If all debates could be this civil, we'd have far fewer problems.
Although she enters the conversation disrespecting Ben with the notion that he's doing something bad with his words. For that I lost all respect for her even though she's proved infinitely more reasonable than any front hole hat wearing resistor I've seen in 2+ years.
Her way of thinking resembles a child, whose been told that's a naughty man. She brought nothing to debate other than her own spiteful personal opinion and random accusations.

Actually, there are only two genders (male or female).
How to decide whether you are female or male. Just by looking at which part of genital do you pee.
If you pee through penis, you are male.
If you pee through vagina, you are female.
If you have two genitals, then back to the basic. see through what genital do you pee.

"Political debate requires that you talk to people and people take your words as what they mean, not as an excuse to go and do violence." Nicely said
this could be applied to a great many forms of conversation too though and would help a great deal I think
Does this mean he never does political debate?
This lady and Ben were both very respectful of one another’s views and opinions, great talk between the two.

I believe most liberals are like her, but the vocal minority are the ones that we see all the time.
Vocal minority are affecting our way of life and injecting our society with nonsense.
She has clearly been brought up in a good home with caring moral parent(s).....regardless of what societial class they are or whatever, she is a great example of what everyone should strive to raise a child to be like regardless of sex, race, or financial status. I feel not just liberals, but all people should be more like her. Cheers🍻
Anthony Barbone They are. They’re ALL uninformed
"are you transphobic?"
"No; are you heterophobic?"
Young lady trying to understand and educate without finger pointing and screams. Merits to her and her parents . Well educated.
Nice. She wasn't screaming insults like a radical right-wing conservative.
@@lizardog I think you mean left wing radicals who do not accept other people,s opinions.
@@lizardog don't you mean leftist? Because that's on recorded media everywhere. Leftists are the ones who yell and scream and throw a tantrum that would make any two year old proud.
No she comely threw out insults. You can see this tactic works very well she has you Buffaloed. UC calling somebody a phobic of something because you disagree such as transgenderism. Which I don't believe is a medical disorder it is a psychological disorder. Saying I'm phobic because of that opinion is being intolerant of my opinion and if you didn't notice she kind of asked him if his speech was hate speech. She just hid her venom with a little sugar on top and you fell for it😂
@@lizardogNot all right wing conservative scream insults I think you mean bad people in general
This wasn’t even a debate. She was just wondering.
She’s literally just asking him questions. This is basically a interview, then the title *BEN SHAPIRO DISCOMBOBULATES LIBERAL INTO F A C T S AND K N O W L E D G E*
@@2kmichaeljordan438 Ik so dumb 😂😂
In a debate enlightenment of one side or another is intended. This is different than the radical debates u see today. It is a respectful debate where one or both sides are trying to learn
@@2kmichaeljordan438 actually it was a debate she disagreed with things he said.
@@calfmonster2190 no it wasn’t. Watch the video
I might not agree with what she’s saying, but I love how open-minded, down to earth and respectful she is. You can tell her parents pushed for her to be well educated. Honestly I would love to sit down and have a conversation with her.
I don’t think they were having a debate, she just wanted to hear his point of view
Brooke Nicholson that’s a good observation, and I feel like Ben really enjoys those types of encounters with people of opposing views.
This is by far Ben’s best argument ever, constant win after win after win
Wow. That girl conducted herself PHENOMENALLY. People can get upset so quick, but her composure was a perfect example of the way people should act in a discussion/debate.
She sounded stupid.
@Aero01 well…a lesser opponent would have begun blasting him the minute he said transgenderism is a mental illness. She held her own with him and and got much more out of him than most of the people in that room would have. And she didn’t compromise her own position. This was well done.
@Wildfox01 Let's not deny her the credit she deserves for being honest, respectful, and open to listening to someone who does not agree with you.
@Aero01 a “master debater” if you will
That's because she's not trans and therefore cannot be triggered.
Makes for a rational debate.
