For the money they are awesome. I think with a more powerful motor they could be even more fun. But it handles small obstacles excellent.
Excellent video. I've had this in my Amazon saved items for some time now. This video is gonna make me move on the purchase immediately. I have always wanted a scaler but my time is limited to build from scratch like I did my crawlers in early 2000's.
If you haven't tried it yet, take a look at the Tuptoel 2.4 ghz, 4wd Jeep. It comes rtr, has a metal body, and has full proportional control out of the box all for only $30 shipped. From what I've heard it is not too bad without any mods.
You won't be disappointed with this one for the price. And so many upgrades as well. Lots of helpful groups on Facebook if you do get one 👍Check the one linked on this video, might be cheaper than Amazon.

These trucks are an amazing source of fun for such good money. Plus when they do break there is a whole host of upgrades which can be applied :)
Certainly is...a lot of people still pass them off as 'junk'....but the fun you can have with them, for next to no money is a big win for me!

I've got the stock 'kit' version one for now, would like to see how it compares to the RTR one. I've also heard you can fit Toothbrush & Shaver motors to them! I'll be giving that a go as well :)

It’s affordable and upgradable. Nice rig. I wish I can find a faster motor.
I'll be testing a few different motors with it. Keep an eye out for the uploads ;)

What upgraded steering servo and speed controller are you using ?? I plan on buying one myself.
Link in the description for the ESC dude. As for the Micro Servo, any micro one will do, get the best you can...some of the cheap ones suffer interference ;)

Debating buying the rtr and the kit. Is it waterproof already? Or are there things I need to do? Also I plan on upgrading and building it. What direction should I go? Thanks!
Justin, these are not waterproof RTR. I recommend getting the Kit, then buying an ESC and micro servo, you'll need your own Radio/Receiver aswell. The best idea is to get it running, and then slowly add parts as you go. The twin motor conversion is good for crawling (see one of my videos), and there is also a 2 speed option with a bigger motor. Links to the trucks and electronics should be in the description.

I've seen all your videos on it. I have an old toy grade that i'm doing the same thing with. It's a tenth scale pontiac gto (67' body). When i'm finished with it, i'm gonna race it against my brushless wltoys 12423.

Quick question .... Why so much friction between Kevin you guys should be bashing together .... There's too much hate the world sounds like you guys are in the same country ...
