  • I was driving and the truck started to overheat and smoke, so i pulled over at a gas station and found that all the coolant/water that was in my radiator had formed a small lake under my truck. I got it home and found it was the Radiator Drain Plug that had broken. I got a new one the next day($5 from AdvanceAuto) and replaced it.

I took my Ford to the mechanic. Because it was leaking and it caused smoke. They charge me 630 dollars just to change casket. And find out to replace casket cost 68 to 100.Now I put in coolent the whole thing gets out. I went back to mechanic. To fix the problem. Now I gotta wait into Monday. There's no honest mechanic.

Advance auto parts had the Ford size plugs with the threaded insert that goes in.

Yeah I just gotta get eyeballs on it so i know what I'm doing. Not as much room in the rangers as there are in your full size model.

I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla where is this plug on my car? It’s over heating within minutes and it’s a fast leak of coolant leaving the car and the temperature gauge goes right up to HOT , I didn’t blow the head gaskets thank goodness 😅

manual cars have two plugs that aren't used and fall out over time. maybe try a small cork to plug back up the hole

the replacement was only 5 bucks at Advance though

A cork would not work.. The cooling system of a vehicle is pressurized to 12-18 psi at temp. Those two plugs are for the transmission cooler lines that aren't used in manual cars. Those are useless and can be left open.

Yeah I had a 94 F150 with an over heating issue but who knows what it was. Same motor as yours straight 6.

My drain plug weep hole is also dripping ever so slowly.
I am not sure what caused this to happen as all was well and then it started to leak without me ever touching it but the oil was also missing from the crank case, so perhaps they are linked together, one may have caused the other to happen. I will learn more when the "Saga Continues" tomorrow and I drain the motor oil from the pan - I will be looking for any leaks.

Please don't move the camera around like that. It is very nausea inducing.
