I adopted a senior black cat with cancer. She had been at the adoption center the longest and no one wanted her. I took her home and spoiled her rotten for the last nine months of her life. She was the sweetest, cuddliest girl. Rest in peace, Raglan ❤ 🌈

if its for ourselves how can it be altruistic? we get something out of everything we do so what exactly is altruism? generally curious with no ill intentions
That is indeed a very good question that many a philosopher has asked themselves... Does true altruism exist? Does true freedom exist? Does true love exist? The answer to those depend a lot on perspective and how do you define those concepts... So they are extremely hard questions to answer in a purely "true" objective manner. Is there even a "true" answer to those existential philosophical questions to begin with? But that's part of the complex beauty of it all, right? Also all of this is my own opinion so take it with a grain of salt of course. Feel free to fundamentally disagree if that's how you feel as that is, too, part of that said beauty.
Knowing love was the best anti cancer treatment. Kitty had a reason to live and her mind resolved to live with her loving mom. No disease would stop her.
