Yeah...my wife rescued a senior Maine Coon from a life in my sister-in-law basement back in 2010. "Gizmo" became my shadow. We thought we had lost him...but I heard his meows from our "basement" (a crawlspace under our apartment that had pipes and was about 28in in clearance) I had to go down to replace a pipe and he snuck in and I didn't see him. Locked up and went looking for him. 2 Years later I did something that today is legal in my state. I wound up in jail overnight and had to explain to a jail booking nurse about long not deep scratches on my hands and forearms. She asked me if I was a "cutter"... I laughed and said "no I just have a rough neck Maine Coon cat". The nurse almost chocked laughing so hard. she explained she has rough neck Maine Coon. She passed me on the psych exam and I did not have to spend the night in Don't kill myself cell
We adopted a senior cat Edgar. He was 17 or even much older. They told us maybe he will have a Christmas, but he made it till after easter. The next one Bibo had heart problems, he came from a hoarder house, they didn't even knew how old he was. He out lived his diagnosis at the moment by 9 month, our vet told us he will maybe live two weeks at most.
A message anyone reading this comment. On r/animals I created a post compiling all the animal fundraiser I've seen in recent days, the title is "Animal fundraisers, feel free to share your own!", in case you want to look it up. The most urgent is Sly's, the cat of an elderly woman is in dire need of your financial help. A GoFundMe has been set-up but it isn't going well. I can't post the link but by searching up 'Help Ali Save Her Beloved Cat Sly' on the searchbar you'll find it. Any help would be appreciated! I just adopted a senior kitty 11 1/2 years old and she is a wonderful companion. The shelter I got her from didn't have a back story as to why she was surrendered but she had been adopted once and brought back after 2 months because she was timid and hiding all the time and their cat was picking on her. She was back at the shelter for 1 week and I saw her and adopted her. She is doing great and I don't have any other pets so it is nice and quiet and she is having the time of her life. 🥰😻🐾💖
When a person returns an animal, I always wonder about the adopter and not the pet! You don't know how they treated the cat/dog, who else was around the pet (were there kids or other adults or other animals who aggravated the pet?), what the living/sleeping arrangements were or what did the failed adopter expect (realistic or stupid). I never look at the pet as a failed adoption, but I do look at the person as a failed adopter! I'm so glad you have the patience and love for her!
@@Uncommonsensesc Thank you for your kind words. My Zarrah Rose is doing great and is having the time of her life. I am so happy I could adopt her, she is my best friend.🥰😻💙🐾

I remember seeing this vid on my FYP and I think it stated that this vid was 3 days ago? But basically just released and now I decided to watch it!! Love love animals a lot!! Commented on 20 Aug 2024, 1:35 AM
"they changed their mind", what is wrong with people? Make the decision BEFORE getting the cat, it's not an iPhone, it's a living, sentient being. If you don't think you can give an animal a good home, if you can't afford the food and vet's bills, i.e. you can't afford to care for it, then don't get it. It's that simple.
Angela’s story is very inspiring. My Grandfather’s Cat only does placements and connections in Canada, but it would be nice to see a US branch of it. As for Oreo, since he was rescued from outside, I wonder if he had bad experiences with men threatening him or being somewhat violent with him. I really hope Josh is able to eventually win him over and establish some trust with him.
We rescued a tuxedo cat the drive thru of a McDonalds I used to work at… and ended up calling her Mickey D, or Mickey for short, although she quickly earned the nickname of “Twit” (which she would answer to). Had her for… 16-16.5 years and she was a sweet cuddle buns.
I got my Momma’s cats after she passed. My stepfather tried to keep them, but he has too many problems with his knees, and they kept darting between his legs, one day they knocked him down, so he asked me to take them. We’ve had them for about a year now, and they are some very special kitties. Unfortunately, they don’t get along with my other two cats that I already had, especially the two tomcats they are always fighting. But, we seem to have found a way to keep things relatively peaceful around here, at least, for now, that is.
"Our relationship's not too bad .. as long as I don't get near him." 🤣 Gotta love the spicy cats
Oreo: "So you have chosen...death."

What a great idea. The same thing happened when my mom died. We were able to take care of her dog and then finally transfer him over to another loving couple. Thanks for caring.
They're ALL precious
I remember seeing this vid on my FYP and I think it stated that this vid was 3 days ago? But basically just released and now I decided to watch it!! Love love animals a lot!!

I'd be pissed if I got kicked out of my bed everytime the boyfriend comes over too!
You, young lady are just what we need.
That is so sweet! Good on ya!
Agreed … senior cats are beautiful 🤩
"they changed their mind", what is wrong with people? Make the decision BEFORE getting the cat, it's not an iPhone, it's a living, sentient being. If you don't think you can give an animal a good home, if you can't afford the food and vet's bills, i.e. you can't afford to care for it, then don't get it. It's that simple.
Really a great idea you had and have!! God bless you!!!!

I loved the big bear.😊
Angela’s story is very inspiring. My Grandfather’s Cat only does placements and connections in Canada, but it would be nice to see a US branch of it.
As for Oreo, since he was rescued from outside, I wonder if he had bad experiences with men threatening him or being somewhat violent with him. I really hope Josh is able to eventually win him over and establish some trust with him.
Thank you for all you do ❤❤❤
I love vocal cats❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mr Bo is gorgeous, but all cats are. Thank you
So touching 😢❤
SO PRETTY❤ LOVE THIS STORY!
My cat is a senior cat
