      Geese are all bluff. They have no teeth, horns, claws, spurs, or spikes. Their beaks are actually bills -- round and smooth, not sharp or pointed.
      When a goose flies at you, you can simply catch the goose by the neck and send it away in a different direction.
      It must be embarrassing to react like you are being attacked by a bear when the attacker has no teeth, horns, claws, spurs, spikes, or sharp beak.

      Id rather encounter a bear. All Canadians would choose a bear encounter over a dick snipper one.

      Why run from a pinch bite on an animal you can snap the neck of? Be an animal. That dont mean you have to kill the darn thing, just be man enough to take a bite and restrain the animal. Its not like its a rabid rabbit. That is something you should be concerned about. lol

    There are aggressive Canada geese at Chandler Park on Detroit's east side in 2021. There are nesting for raising their goslings from April to June of each and every year.

    • @Claudia-lq3ns
      @Claudia-lq3ns ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's about the right time right there. Nest built late March/early April. Eggs hatch after 28-35 days. Family hangs for a while until goslings are ready to fly. Then they'll disappear. They may come back late August/early September, but that depends.
      How nice that there's a nest in your area and you get to see little nuggets 🐥😍

    The worst thing to do is run away from it. When you do that, the goose believes it's dominant over you and will attack you even more. Face it, stand your ground, open your arms wide as if they are wings and stretch out your fingers to give them the appearance of claws. Start walking slowly towards it and growl and roar with as deep as voice as you can muster. Doing this makes you look like a menacing predator. Never turn your back to it.

Did just that, t pose to assert dominance, keep face of it, do not look away and risk letting it at get a jump on you. Also while we had the stand off I mentally prepared to kick it center mass. Goose and it's mate backed off and were pretty angry from a distance afterwards.

      if you want advice i sit with geese all the time and i've pet a baby and an adult before so i suggest instead of backing away slowly you just walk away with confidence walk like you arent afraid if they do go close and you dont feel comfortable then make sure your standing put your hand up above their head they dont like being vulnerable like that so they back away if it doesnt work i say you slowly walk toward closer to them making them scared and back up away they may seem like they will attack but theres a high chance they wont, again make sure you do not seem scared they might go after you but i've named a goose honker before cause he used to honk a bunch, and when he saw me come to the pond with corn their favourite he would waddle up to me like a little penguin

      First thing you have to do, is get on the ganders good side first. A bag of oats works really well for this. The most important thing: NO FAST MOVEMENTS. Geese are very reactive to fast movements, and it can trigger them to attack or flee. They don't feel threatened when you move slow.

    If the Goose is wandering your fine. If the Goose is sitting stay away. If there is two one is probably male stay away. If there is 2 with children stay away from both, one is male and one is a aggressive mother.

    A goose tried to intimidate me, biggest mistake the goose made picking on someone who very capable of dealing with it.. I ended up pushing it away at first, and it came again trying to bite me, but my next response taught it a lesson, I kicked it and it backed away, and when I went to go towards the goose, the goose would back away from me.. I showed the goose I was the dominant one and it was I who showed it, I was in control not the goose.😊👍 but the aim is never to physically hurt the goose. just slight physical push or a very light gentle kick is sufficient to establish dominants over the goose.😊
