There are aggressive Canada geese at Chandler Park on Detroit's east side in 2021. There are nesting for raising their goslings from April to June of each and every year.
That's about the right time right there. Nest built late March/early April. Eggs hatch after 28-35 days. Family hangs for a while until goslings are ready to fly. Then they'll disappear. They may come back late August/early September, but that depends. How nice that there's a nest in your area and you get to see little nuggets 🐥😍

Had a goose walk towards me hostile like in a neighborhood with lots of water and woodland. Did just that, t pose to assert dominance, keep face of it, do not look away and risk letting it at get a jump on you. Also while we had the stand off I mentally prepared to kick it center mass. Goose and it's mate backed off and were pretty angry from a distance afterwards.
Geese are extremely intelligent. They act like little people, if one spends enough time with them you'll see that. I already spend 10 years around them and they are very fascinating, love them to bits. Chicken are also very intelligent, they can open doors like raptors :)

It came right up to me, and i got the most incredible view of its beak. i wasn't sure what to do, so i sat still, facing him, but ready to defend myself or back away. eventually it went back to its mate. I found this close encounter with the goose awesome. the only thing I would do differently is back away slowly
if you want advice i sit with geese all the time and i've pet a baby and an adult before so i suggest instead of backing away slowly you just walk away with confidence walk like you arent afraid if they do go close and you dont feel comfortable then make sure your standing put your hand up above their head they dont like being vulnerable like that so they back away if it doesnt work i say you slowly walk toward closer to them making them scared and back up away they may seem like they will attack but theres a high chance they wont, again make sure you do not seem scared they might go after you but i've named a goose honker before cause he used to honk a bunch, and when he saw me come to the pond with corn their favourite he would waddle up to me like a little penguin

They take a break from their eggs and swim over to me for a quick meal. First thing you have to do, is get on the ganders good side first. A bag of oats works really well for this. The most important thing: NO FAST MOVEMENTS. Geese are very reactive to fast movements, and it can trigger them to attack or flee. They don't feel threatened when you move slow.
Never been chased or attacked by Canada geese and I encounter 10-20 every day, they’re actually very loving if they trust you. I get to pet them and they’ll eat seed out the palm of my hand and they’ve never once made a move to attack me
Had one walk about 80 yards to me. I was sitting quietly and i guess its flock wanted to walk through my area so it came first as a scout. We looked at eachother, i took a sip of my water and it walked past me about 3 feet away and went on with its business. Pretty kool encounter. The flock and babies walked passed me eventually too
I remember as a teenager I got chased by a goose, when it got to me I was able to get my wrists around his neck and squeeze hard enough to get him off of me and get away. Geese are assholes.
I live in Canada my whole life and I’ve been attacked and they do not play I was just walking in my school yard in Toronto with my friends and geese started chasing us we were crying bc they ripped our uniforms and it wasn’t pleasant to feel that they are aggressive sometimes
Geese like this can fly as fast as 25-30 mph. Maybe 35 mph. So even if you can run like Jesse Owens, the geese will still moe you down and sweep you down! And you will get pecked, and pricked, and slapped, and battered after you get swept down! Don't run when attacked!

I ended up pushing it away at first, and it came again trying to bite me, but my next response taught it a lesson, I kicked it and it backed away, and when I went to go towards the goose, the goose would back away from me.. I showed the goose I was the dominant one and it was I who showed it, I was in control not the goose.😊👍 but the aim is never to physically hurt the goose. just slight physical push or a very light gentle kick is sufficient to establish dominants over the goose.😊

I have never forgot those geese chasing me when I was a kid. I just wanted to look at the big eggs.
I either kick them like a football, or when I walk the dog, I use a umbrella. That's a nice shield and they get all confused.

My trick was to walk with Border Collie. Man... my dog chased more geese of golf courses than any other dog.
A broom or any stick in the hand, is recognized by the bird as a weapon. Use it if need be.
