    EMBED RECIPE
1/2 cup (4 oz) Baking Soda
1/2 cup (4 oz) Citric Acid
    1/2 tsp. melted Coconut Oil
    1/2 tsp. Rubbing Alcohol (I use 91%)
    1/4 tsp. Polysorbate 80
Your choice of Colorant* - Mica, Liquid Colorant, or Powdered Lake
    *MICA - 1 to 2 tsp.
Measure baking soda into a large bowl. Add mica and mix well. Set aside. In a small container measure melted coconut oil, rubbing alcohol, and Polysorbate 80. Stir to combine. Add liquid ingredients to baking soda. Mix well. Add citric acid and mix until thoroughly combined. Mixture should hold its shape when pressed together. If not, add 1-2 sprays of rubbing alcohol as needed until mixture begins to hold its shape when pressed together. DO NOT ADD TOO MUCH OF THE RUBBING ALCOHOL AT THIS POINT, IT WILL ACTIVATE THE EMBED. Press mixture into mold.
    *LIQUID COLORANT (FD&C & D&C) - 20-35 drops
Measure baking soda into a large bowl. Set aside. Measure 20-35 drops Liquid Colorant into 1/2 tsp. measuring spoon, fill remainder of 1/2 tsp with rubbing alcohol. Pour into small container. Add melted coconut oil, and Polysorbate 80.
    *POWDERED LAKE - 1/2 tsp.
Measure baking soda into a large bowl. Set aside. In a small container measure 1/2 tsp water or rubbing alcohol (check to see what is recommended from the supplier of your specific Lake). Stir until thoroughly combined. Add melted coconut oil, and Polysorbate 80. Stir to combine. Add liquid ingredients to baking soda and mix well.

Hello, your videos are so fun to watch. I was wondering if you could do a whole tutorial on the celestial colors? How to use them? What you think about them? How pigment are they in bath bombs over just embeds?

This was very helpful. Is there any reason you don't use SLSA with the embeds?

  • @TheZoggydog

I love your tutorials. I'm new to bath bomb making. Thank you for explaining how to use each type of colorant. I want to make a big bomb with a mica embed and a lake embed. That will give the water intense color and a shimmer too. Is it okay to use both in one bomb? The reason I ask is I'll be using Polysorbate 80 in the bomb and both embeds. Is that safe?

What size bath bomb does that size of embed fit into? I currently have 2.75" size bath bomb molds, wondering if these embeds will fit or if i need the smaller size ice cube tray.

I can’t remember where I heard it but I herd that lush have a something in place so other bath bomb makers can’t use embeds until like 2030 or something.
