I absolutely know I cannot be the only person who is thinking this, absolutely best DIY bath bomb video on TH-cam! You went over the ingredients, the importance of them, step-by-step super easy but at a fast enough pace. All questions were answered, great video!
This is probably the best tutorial I've found on bath bombs. Thanks for keeping it straight to the point, and the music tolerable, and all the links! Thanks a million. Who'da thunk there was such a high learning curve on something so seemingly simple as bath bombs!
I appreciate this video. I'm new to making bath bombs and I've been having difficulty. I've also been eyeballing presses after having a bit of difficulty with silicone molds. You are to the point but with a conversational tone which is heavily appreciated.
I have had a lot of success doing it this way! I worked for LUSH cosmetics for over 3 years in sales and noticed this is the way they make bath bombs (they are the best and my absolute favorite!) Happy crafting! xo
Thank you so much for your video. By far easier to use the mooncake press than the round molds. Also, best bath bombs recipe. Thanks for sharing Dean's recipe with us.
I was looking to make xmas gifts for friends. Finding your recipe fits perfectly. By far yours is the best tutorial I have seen on TH-cam. Thank you for sharing your knowledge so that we can avoid mistakes & wasting money in the process.
OMG!! By far the best video I have seen for BB making, Thank you so much for sharing. Very clear and very understanding! Yes LOVE LOVE Dean Wilson!! I do have a question.... How long should I let my BB dry and do I need to cover them while drying, is there such thing as too long of drying before I cover them / package them .... for friends as gifts I dont sell. Thank you again. Please keep your videos coming I love them !
I'm so glad I found this video, I was just looking at mooncake molds and wondering if I'd just be wasting my time (and money), now I'm going to go ahead and order the set I was looking at. Thank you so much for sharing this information! 💖
How beautifully you taught...!! Each and every step explained so well..!! You passionate about your talent..and a heart to impart your knowledge to all..Thank you gal..!! For sure will try..!! Have seen so many videos about bath bombs..but yours looks the BEST..!! Thank you ☺😚 !! Much love !!
Ty so much for telling how to use the stamper, bc like you said, it came with NO directions. I have the hardest time with the sphere molds. So glad I found this one 🥰
So glad I found you channel. I just bought this same bath balm maker and was thinking how better it would be then the normal round shapes. I thought these looked so pretty 🦋 I'm glad I bout it now. ❤️
Love these! Great idea to add the citric acid at the end. Can I replace the rubbing alcohol with witch hazel, I’m having a hard time trying to get it in 90% proof. Thanks!
Emilie, thank you for sharing, I have always enjoyed your videos 😉. Thanks for including the important step of using 91% RA and not water! I have learned that one the hard way too. I too love Dean’s channel but somehow missed his recipe for bath bombs, glad you found it. I love my Mooncake press, one of the best things out there for bath bombs. Thanks again for the detailed tutorial, you rock...or ‘you da bomb!...bath bomb’, lol! 😂
The is one of the best I've seen. I just ordered them. I ordered the one you have & the triangle looks like a peice of pie or cake slice. But where did you get the mist bottle for the glitter? I'm so glad I happened upon this video. Do you know how to make a cucumber bomb I can't find one I'm not sure if that's possible. Thanks you.
I frequently have issues with the top of my design being very sensitive to packaging. I usually spray the bb after it comes out of the mold with 99% alcohol to set the design so it is more durable. Do you have any suggestions to making the bb solid?
After seeing your beautiful demonstration I just might try making these beautiful bath bombs. I've held out because I just wasn't impressed with the whole spherical mold thing. Your mold is beautiful! TY and Dean for sharing.
Good job. I just made the same exact bath bombs for a little girl's birthday party. I scented them "love spell" I use the same ingredients as you with the exception of Epsom Salt. I am hooked on the bath bomb pess.
i just watched this and loved how easy it is to use a moonpress if you don't mind me asking what size is the big one as i have the 50g one and can't wait to try it out
+Dean Wilson Dean! Your bath bomb recipe is hands down the best! I’m a huge fan of your channel. Thank you for your kind words. I am flattered! All the best!
Michelle. It wasn’t expensive at all. I believe it was under $40 for everything, and that was in bulk price. For example: a huge box of baking soda 64oz was $5. I use amazon and eBay. Things like baking soda and corn starch, I usually go to Walmart. I’m going to start purchasing those items in bulk too since I’m getting so many requests for bath bombs
Hi Emilie, would this still work if am am using Essential Oils rather than Fragrance Oil? And if so, how many drops of EO would you recommend? Thanks :)
Don’t need too much effort. Just press in with your palm, then turn onto the table top and press down with the handle firmly (not with super man strength) and then press it out. Works just as well😉
Annetta pope, I have used sugar molds,in the past, for a bit of everything including, cake decorating with sugar, and moulding butter for dinner parties,! wondering if it would be possible to get the same results with the bath bombs, considering the consistency is the same as the bath mix until completely dry and set??!
Thank you for the tutorial. I know this is an older video. I was wondering if you know how many ounces (finished product) the 50g & 75g mold make? I would like to order a moon cake press to make my shower steamers, but am unsure which one to order.
Thank you for this sharing! When I try the moon cake press, everything is perfect in the beginning, but when I do the second batch, the powder will be stuck in the press pattern and make a blurred surface. I've tried to make it wetter or drier, pack tight or pack loose, put some cornstarch or baking soda before...etc, but it still does not work:( Have you ever meet this situation? Thanks!
Im having the exact same issue, my first batch tuned out perfectly, but when i went to make more a few months later, the mixture sticks to the top of my press. did you find a solution for this at all?
Maybe you already have seen a update on Mad Micas website, the glitter sadly contains aluminum and that is forbidden in bath bombs by the FBA. Just so there's awareness of the ingredient, it is also forbidden in lip gloss/lipsticks ☺ But.. these turned out to be beautiful! 🤗
Bravo!! 👏🏻❤️🧽🧼 Love your voice and the simplicity of the way you teach. You explain why you do things and that's a huge plus in learning. P.S. Tysm for explaining how to replace the mold patterns I had heck of a time. Lol 🤦🏻♀️
Barbara Niebauer hi! There is a link for the Glitter Spray Pump in the video description above. Here it is again in case you missed it - www.madmicas.com/products/glitter-spray-pump?variant=34679043399 Thanks for watching!
I just tried this and was so excited, but all of bath bombs crumbled a bit as I too the mold off. Does that mean it was too dry? I am in Arizona and so it's try here. I am afraid to add too much moisture.
Could I ask what you could replace the Epsom salts with? It's just I am in a very humid area and been advised to not add them to my mix. Thank you for the video tutorial it was very handy.
I made these and overall they came out really well but I noticed after a few the design started clogging up and not imprinting correctly. Is there any tips you can give to stop this happening or would it just be the press plate I was using?
Hi! I'm having some issues with my moonpress...sometimes it's sticks and the final desing is not as beautiful...do you have any advice to give me that it doesn't stick in it?
Me too. I spent the afternoon today trying every which way to get these to work. The patterns on the tops didn't turn out clean. It was okay on one side but not the other. Also when I pull the mold off, it's brushing some of the side off. I don't know how to make a smooth release. Any tips? I tried when it was wet and when it was a bit drier. No luck.
Same problem here 😢. I tried brushing the stamp with coco silicone, which helped just a teeny bit for the first couple of bombs, but it is no lasting solution unfortunately. I still hope someone joins this discussion!
Damn girl awesome sauce because of you I have been inspired to go in by not 1 moon press but two I am now looking to do a DIy with my family I have been inspired thank U they look so beautiful tfs 😍
I have yet to make bath bombs. I mean, I haven't even bought bath bomb ingredients, let alone molds. As a complete beginner, with limited funds, would this be a wiser choice to buy first, before the classic sphere molds?
For me, I just wrap with shrink bags but you can still use saran like you do with round ones, and your bombs should harden as they dry, I use 1 tbs of cream of tartar, and then your binder ( sprays of witch hazel and a little 70% rubbing alcohol) if you don't they won't harden, its like the glue thanx binds
I'm having a lot of trouble with my mixture getting stuck in the intricate design of the mold and not releasing properly so the bombs do not look pretty. Any advice?
me again hun :) i've just watched dean's tutorial. in case he doesn't get back to me, can I omit the SLSA? i don't really like the stuff but will omitting it affect the end result x
Hey hun! No worries! Just leave it out. The SLSA helps the bath bombs to foam up and fizz longer. If you aren’t a fan of SLSA, leave it out! Your bath bombs will be fizzy and absolutely lovely😂
thanks hunni :) i'm still searching lol. in your original recipe, could I add a little milk powder etc to give a more luxurious feel ? if so how much? also, would using a different carrier oil (instead of castor) affect the recipe? or would you def recommend the castor? sorry for all the questions!! my amazon basket is getting larger ;) x

All bathbombs need citric otherwise they don't press
@@winstonchurchill5731 no if it doesn't have citric acid it wont fizz up. But the fact she added it at the end made it more fizzy
wow didn't expect you to be here tara haha
I add my citric acid at the end too. It makes it so much easier.
Thank you so much for your video. By far easier to use the mooncake press than the round molds. Also, best bath bombs recipe. Thanks for sharing Dean's recipe with us.

noelleprairie don't cover while drying you don't want to trap the moisture in. You'll want to dry a couple days before packaging.
Thanks for all the tips and recipe from Dean Wilson.

Love love your vids Dean!
And emilie
Did you add more of the mica color? Your video had a jump-cut and it was waaay darker?
Love your work, can you tell me where I can find the little glitter sprayer please and thank you!
What kind of glitter and spray bottle did you use on the coating of the finished bomb
Best tutorial ever! A game changer...thank you!
I love these! How long would you say they would last in storage?
Hi. What would be a break down on costs? To buy ingredients and make one? Just curious if worth making and selling?
Could i use cornstarch in place of the kaolin clay?
Changing the bathbomb game!!
So happy to hear you enjoyed this tutorial! Thank you for watching! xo
That is my favorite purple mica as well
E, I don't know how I've missed this! I can't wait to show you how you've blessed me! More to follow later!
Thank you! So happy you found my channel! xo
Does the glitter stick to your skin? Does it dissolve? I’m watching videos before I try this for the 1st time.
Loved your video, quick question. Do you have to bake the bath bombs?
Genius with adding the citric acid at the end!
Omg this looks so much easier than the circle one
I actually ordered all of my ingredients a few days ago. I'm making some today! Awesome video!
Sherry Bloom would you mind sharing what the total cost of supplies was? It seems like it would be a lot but maybe I’m wrong.

moon pies turn out great until i wrap and then lose some of the design. I am following yours and Deans recipe to a T. any suggestions?

@@shariblauner2987 I discovered lightly dipping the top (that has the pattern ingrained) with baking soda.

What is the amount of the product you used converted into measuring cups? Ounces and cups?
Is there any difference between using polysorbate 80 and polysorbate 20?
