EVERYTHING You Need to Know About BATH BOMBS!!!

  • Everything you need to know about bath bombs!!! You don’t have to do everything in the video in order to make a good bath bomb; I just wanted to show you how I learned. Trial & error is the best way! Especially since bath bombs are extremely sensitive to external factors (temperature, humidity). Recipes that work great for me, may not work for you at all. It's best to make bombs in a temperature and humidity-controlled room. The best humidity level = 35-40%... But I rarely see this in Louisiana. So for me, in humidity under 55% - I make bath bombs! (I make them anyways to tell you the truth!) Purchase a dehumidifier if you can; it’ll help for sure! Since making this tutorial, I purchased a really big dehumidifier & it works triple what the other little ones do combined. Never make bombs on rainy days, no matter what! Adjust & personalize Recipe FOR YOU: 99% of recipes have oil; first thing I did was take this out! Adjust recipes, but keep wet & dry ratios balanced! For me it's 1 teaspoon of wet per 5 ounces of dry. Gain Experience with experiments: keep detailed notes (linked). Perform experiments with different ingredients: Learn which ingredients cause which reactions, which ones work best together. Making bomb: The poly 80 helps oils & powder disperse evenly in water. It also acts as a buffer, slowing down reactions (so your bomb doesn't blow all of its fizz in 30 seconds). TIPS & TRICKS: If your bombs don’t float, remember drying time depends on several factors & varies greatly * It may take 30-60 days to fully dry (where they float). WHOLESALE SHOPPING: I currently use Wholesalesuppliesplus to buy my dry ingredients in bulk. They’re the cheapest that I've found yet! For fragrance oils I use theflamingcandlecompany, candlescience, Lonestarcandlecompany, naturesgarden, & rusticescentuals. Set up shop & start selling your bombs at Etsy, Weebly, Shopify, &/or Wix!

    A few minutes ago I knew ZERO about bath bombs - now I know quite a bit more! lol. This is exactly the video I was looking for. (Love your accent.) You got a new sub when you showed the data collection and research. Thank you so much for this. My weather is similarly humid so that advice was especially appreciated.
    Do you, by any chance, teach how to make youtube videos? So much of what really bugs me was not in your video. Can't do a tl;dr on your video because it was all necessary, not to mention clean, clear, and well organized. And it wasn't at all "long". Just one man's opinion - it was fairly perfect. Thanks!

    Hi!! I happened upon your videos one day months ago while searching for how to make swirled lollipops. I was amazed and angry cause I watched it and kept saying “people EAT this stuff in suckers?” not realizing I was watching your lollipop bath video.😂😂😂😂 Every time I look for something tho, your videos pop up so I said “self, check her out.” You are a very nice and sweet person. (I’m from Opelousas but I live in Kentucky so I get it now. 😉) You videos are soooo informative and make me feel like I can conquer the bath world with my imagination. I have a lot of questions but I’ll take them step by step as I come up on complications. I just want you to know that you are great at what you do, to thank you for sharing with us, to tell you we all appreciate your kindness and selflessness (cause you don’t have to share anything with us), and to say you have a new follower for about a month now and I consider you family. Every time I get ready to practice with anything I always say now “what would my good cousin Dora do now?” 😘
    P.S. What is cocoa betaine? What does it do?Do I have to use it in bath bombs?🤔

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, what a lovely compliment! Thanks so much! coco betaine is a mild surfactant & a foam booster. I use it to slow the vigor of the bath bomb... If you don't have something to buffer the bath bomb's reactions (like coco betaine), it'll fizz & bubble so quickly that it lasts maybe 1 minute. No, it is not necessary in bath bombs. I just like it because it gives me the results that I am looking for.

    Hey! Love your videos so much! In this video, you mentioned that you must always add mica powder to wet ingredients, and then you also added color powder to the batch when you divided it to create different colors. This sort of confused me. Can you elaborate on that?

    Thank you so much!! I loved this recipe! Can't wait to try it! I have few doubts. Should I go with the same simple recipe if I'm living in a humid country? Also, do we need to add distilled water or witch hazel if we feel it's too dry?

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes, use my simple recipe, if it’s still dry you can add whichever liquid. Just know that adding witch Hazel & alcohol will fix it for a bit but then the mix gets even drier. I’d suggest using POLYSORBATE 80 or carrier oil

I was wondering have you used Natrosorb in any of your bath products - I was going to use to make milk bath mix but was wondering to that maybe I could use it in bath bomb sand

    Hi Dora. I love watching your videos. Very informative and you are so creative and have great tips. I just started making them a few months ago. Still playing with the recipe. Questions, when you shrink wrap the bombs if they crack, are you using non-breathable wrap? I wrap my soaps in what has a few very tiny tiny holes to allow someone to smell them. Is that okay or should it be non-breathable? Thanks

    • @CreativeBathLab

      im using non-breathable wraps yes (besides the tiny hole they all come with in order for the air to be pushed out when it's shrink wraped

    Great great videos 💜, can really see your passion & knowledge into bath bombs. I have a question for you, I've noticed you use coco betaine sometimes and was curious for how come ? Guessing some formulas require/do better with it than others, but figured I'd ask. My other question for you--do you use SLSA & Sodium alginate often for the core & outer skin of bath bombs, or just for some in particular?
    Thank you and keep up the great work 😊

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really enjoy watching your videos. You are very talented. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and talent with these videos. I am just starting out with bath bombs and wondering after you make your bombs, how/where do you let them sit while drying? Do you have a mold tray or something to let them dry? I imagine you can't let them sit on flat oan etc or the bottom would flatten. If you use tray or such where can I purchase it? Also, I am in Texas by the gulf, it' ALWAYS humid just like in Louisiana as you know. I purchased a dehumidifier but 50% humidity seriously... how do you ever get that much work done??!! Thank you so much!

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have little holder molds (cheap little tin molds that are useless for molding so I use them to hold the drying bombs) although I have just let them set out on the counter & they've been fine. I just leave them in the room overnight in the holder molds. Yeah its best to make bombs under 40% humidity but honestly, I make them ANYWAYS. As you said, its humid & the ONLY time I get 40-50% is in the dead of winter.
