Exact same process I did (except I didn't have a paint sprayer), and I will confirm that EVERY step here is necessary for that factory smooth finish. These are beautiful. Great job! For anybody wanting to do this, the only thing not mentioned is to use a satin finish and enamel paint. Its stronger and easy to clean. Too matte and it wont clean well. Too glossy and it'll start looking cheap. edit: spelling
Too glossy and it is harder to change it. Though, in defense of glossy paint, it is really easy to wipe down and clean. My grandparents repainted their kitchen decades ago and she said she wished they used a semi-gloss instead of a gloss. But, like I said, it did make it easy to take a washcloth and clean them.
You should seal them with a clear enamel, preferably rustoleum enamel or minwax polycrlic, you can get either in matte, satin or gloss or paint cabinets with enamel paint after prep, as you did.
Did this same thing in my house and have to say, going the extra mile to paint the interior of the cabinets is absolutely worth it. Not sure why nearly all TH-camrs skip the step
I agree with the prime statement. I had bought a thing of paint for a dresser I wanted to redo and it said it had the primer included. The pain chipped off anywhere it got hit or scratched. Now I sand and apply a separate thing of primer before painting.
The steps are absolutely necessary for proper adhesion for longer wear and better hold up under cleaning. I still recommend do not use a magic eraser LOL and the great thing is you won't need to with this new surface. 😊
My cabinets are completely white inside & out. I want to repaint them a medium blue, should I paint the inside as well or is it okay to just paint the exterior?
I have this same sprayer, and while my finish is good, it's not what I would call factory finish. Maybe thinning with Floetrol would help. At least on my gun, it doesn't lay down a smooth, even finish...it sort pulses out. Still a good gun.
These boring, low-quality, builder grade cabinets are the only ones I'm not upset about painting. They're so low quality you can't do anything but paint them. Looks great.
This looks like new! But next you need new flooring to go with it, cuz the berber carpet is looking sadder in comparison. Let us know if you do that project.
Ok so as a professional house cleaner, these look nice but I don't know if their able to be cleaned. Every set of cabinets I've seen that have been painted they can't withstand scrubbing or rubbing or chemicals.
This is cabinet specific paint and it's a satin finish which makes it easily cleanable! The more matte the paint the harder it is clean. I've gotten dust all over these and they have cleaned perfectly!
Wrong number. Old is not always bad. The cabinets were originally quite pretty when they displayed the beautiful grains of wood. Now they look artificial, dull and ugly.
The cabinets were stained a very nice color. I didn't see the original door handles, but maybe you should have just switched those out instead of ruining your cabinets.
Maybe it's her house and she can do whatever she wants with it. Why do you care enough to leave such a rude comment? Her cabinets look great and she is building equity in her home by making it more modern.
@EmreSafak Not dated. That style is very popular & her's looked nice. I would never buy a house with painted cabinets unless I'm prepared to tear them all out & preplace.

1. Primer 2. Second coat 3. Finish these results will give you a smooth finish coat.
And a good quality paint! Don’t go with cheap brands.

Never before has so much work been described in a one minute video.
burgerking drive through 3 items way longer to than a min and they have way less work to do ... sad sometimes isn't it
Love it🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤

looks great, especially with the gold/brass hardware
Thanks!
agree!
Looks great
WOW I AM SPEACHLESS ABOUT THE AMAZING RESULT OF YOUR WORK LADY BRAVO
Did this same thing in my house and have to say, going the extra mile to paint the interior of the cabinets is absolutely worth it. Not sure why nearly all TH-camrs skip the step
The stacking of the drawers to paint is SO brilliant and satisfying
Oh my gawwwwwwwd I love this I need to stop procrastinating
Looks gorgeous
They look brand new cabinets 🎉🎉

How is it the correct way? Its all blotchy
Fantastic work girl
Wow, what an awesome job!
Thank you!
I love the color
Brilliant work, I love the color
sometimes when you paint cabinets it doesn’t allow the wood to expand and it will crack. not all cabinets can be painted
Mint.. nice job
I have the same cabinets! Thanks for sharing this ❤
That's really beautiful
What type of sprayer is that? Brand?
Great job
That's beautiful
I love how it turned out, great job
What paint sprayer do you use?!

Fantastic job 👍
What make and model is your paint sprayer
Great video.what grit sand paper did you use to remove the gloss?
220
Check out the 180 Tape Holder when taping and masking! It will save you time and money.
Wow excellent transformation
hello ma'am could you please link or state what type of sprayer you utilize thx you greatly appreciate the info. have a wonderful year !
My cabinets are completely white inside & out. I want to repaint them a medium blue, should I paint the inside as well or is it okay to just paint the exterior?
I think it's okay not to cuz it's white and it will not really mess the look
what sprayer is that and what type is best ?
Hi! What color paint is this?
I have this same sprayer, and while my finish is good, it's not what I would call factory finish. Maybe thinning with Floetrol would help. At least on my gun, it doesn't lay down a smooth, even finish...it sort pulses out. Still a good gun.
What kind of paint did you use?
Link for knobs and handles pls?
Is sanding or scuffing necessary IF you use Kilz Adhesion Primer??
Your cabinets look beautiful 😻
Quick question - do you need a special primer when painting on varnished oak? Or does the sanding negate the type used?
What primer do you use?
Why didn't you prime with your sprayer too?
These boring, low-quality, builder grade cabinets are the only ones I'm not upset about painting. They're so low quality you can't do anything but paint them.
Looks great.
Will this work with MDF cabinets?
What’s the finish paint brand?
What sander are you using
What did you do with the hinges?
I have those exact cabinets
What handle holes did you fill in? The b4 pic doesn’t show any handles 😅
U painted the track roller?
Which sander did you use?
Looked like a festool one with a dust extraction system. They are not cheap.
Ok I dumb but where do I find a products list, like what paint and this particular sprayer?
Doing that tomorrow
Your hired
What about the grain?
....did you get the paint off the wall next to the cabinet o.o ?
Haha the wall is getting painted that color eventually so I didn't worry about taping it off
This looks like new! But next you need new flooring to go with it, cuz the berber carpet is looking sadder in comparison. Let us know if you do that project.
Where'd the hinges go?
What about any kind of sealer? I painted some cabinets.. probably used wrong kind of paint, and they want to scratch and chip.
Did you have to ventilate at all?
You go ahead and went ahead a lot. Is this an essential part of the process?
grat job girl looks like a 15 k install
um where are the cabinets? i see carpet, im nervous
Pointless to spray finish once you rolled the primer 😅 youre priming over nap marks at that point
yEa but the look dated. Should have upgraded style.
What sander
And I promise you…
Unfortunately due to environmentalism, there are no good paints that will hold up.
Too much work for me lol😂

That's because cabinets should be made of wood and stained. No MDF or plywood and not painted.
If you paint them right like she did, they can be cleaned and will not chip. Especially if you use a good product for your top coat.
Those paper strainers suck lol
Yeah I always use a 1 or 5 gallon strainer with the elastic top. Strain and box all your paint into a new bucket.
Do you need a mask

I sure hope I NEVER need to do this.🫤
Bless you and your perseverance.

@@skhateanddestroy1252 She ruined some of that equity when she ruined her beautiful wood cabinets. And there's nothing rude about my comment, Karen.

They looked dated and cheap. The update is much better.
@EmreSafak Not dated. That style is very popular & her's looked nice. I would never buy a house with painted cabinets unless I'm prepared to tear them all out & preplace.
I just had new shaker doors and drawer fronts made to replace the old ones and bought a new Fugi HVLP sprayer to spray them with.
How did you stack and prep the drawers? I couldnt get a good look.
