Hmm could not tell much, you need a proper drag strip. If you want to see a Rocket 3, Thruxton R, Griso, Tiger 900, BMW r9t race each in the quarter on a drag strip my channel has a few showing the timing slips, angles from the cheap seats and from the motorcycle. If you need to feel good about your riding.😄😄
No idea what happened here. However, people focus so much on the bikes that they forget that the bikes don't ride themselves. Not to riders are the same. Swap bikes and see what the end result... On the Show Top gear I(UK version) I have clearly watched one driver beat another in two different cars, making see the car as faster... then the same driver beat the other driving the "faster car" with the slower car. A Rocket III on the hands of a skilled rider will smoke a stock sportster. My two cents
I would sure hope that a near 2500cc liquid cooled 3 cylinder producing 165+hp and 160+tq would be able to race a 67hp and 72tq air cooled vtwin Sportster 1200. That being said, that is nowhere near a stock Sportster and there are plenty, and I mean plenty of 8-9 second, no wheelie bar, street tire Sportsters out there. Also, for the price of 1 rocket 3 someone could buy 3 1200cc sportsters, or 1 1200cc sportster with 20k into performance if that's what they desire. Different strokes for different folks, the rocket 3 is a beast of its own, but so is a built sportster! The fella on the rocket in this video definitely could have done better than he did tho, 0-60 in 2.7 seconds would make for a hell of a launch, a launch he did not have in this race haha
@@jonnymac8925 tons of inaccuracies here, that's a 2300cc older (and from what it looks like the much older generation the classic which only had 120hp, upgraded to 146hp and 163tq in 2010/2011 ... New the 2015s only cost $16k (before discounts which you could often get) and used these are a bargain often under $8k which I've found similar to Sportster prices in similar condition, not triple the price, The new ones are much different and much faster and handle more like a sports bike.

I feel good about my riding, but my Rocket III almost always looses to 1200 Thruxtons and BMWs. But not much longer !
