Hey guys! Since the release of this video, BetterMouse has pushed an update that allows you to do chording. The method that I showed you with BetterTouchTool is no longer necessary if you want to do that within BetterMouse itself. Another thing is that if you're interested in BM adding the ability to trigger scripts (for better automation with other apps), I suggest you shoot them an email as I've done. I imagine if the request was more popular maybe it'd have more possibilities of implementation. Here's a note with some of the actions I have setup for my mouse. Links to all apps mentioned are in the description of the video: gist.github.com/ognistik/c5be59002d17c5de90462cf69a278211
Thats some good amount of information for which you did good amount of homework to present it in form a detailed video. Awesome !! Since you have good knowledge configuring these, will it be possible to make a video specific to Davinci Resolve + MX mouse, that would help a lot of people.
Thanks for the kind words - I'm happy it's helpful. I don't use DaVinci Resolve myself, so I wouldn't be the right person to make that video :) I might share some of my setup with FCPx in the future, though. Some of the same principles could still apply. Thanks again.
Great video! I only have one question. Why not use Logi Options+? I mean ofc binding an action when clicked on 2 buttons simultaneously, can't be done in Logi Options+ but most of other shortcuts/gestures can be done there. I'm thinking whether I should try BetterMouse, so I'm very curious about this.
I don't use it for the reasons I mentioned at 0:52 . While it recognizes buttons and can assign similar actions as BM, it's really heavy on system resources (has random memory leaks and often takes too much ram), it makes unnecessary online requests, it scatters files everywhere... I tried it when I first got the mouse but quickly noticed these issues - you can find many similar complaints on Reddit and other forums. It just wasn't worth the trouble for me. BetterMouse is just an option that I found integrates very well with the rest of my workflow (and has a few hacks not available on the official app). I'd say if you are happy you can stick with it. But if you want to try BetterMouse, they offer a trial version you can test out.
wow! very detailed, came here from Reddit and was not disappointed at all! btw which software arr you using ti record the video or for the demo part looks very modern and clean...and is that klack sounds that I heard with key presses?
Hi! Thank you! The screen recording app is Screen Studio, the annotations are made with Bananotate, and the key presses come from one Alfred workflow I made (inspired by Klack, but with my own sounds, and mouse sounds): th-cam.com/video/_Xd86bBDAco/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, trial and error, unfortunately. And nothing guarantees that it will stay like that, since developers can (and sometimes do) change this if they want to improve compatibility with other apps (though this also may end up negatively affecting some others). But this is usually an issue only for when you want key presses to be detected... I try to avoid that as much as possible. I suggested the developers of BetterMouse to incorporate the ability to run scripts but I guess they didn't think it was necessary 🤷♂.
5 seconds into video.... try razer naga you can have everything on mouse enter, ctrl+c, ctrl+v/w volume up/down and many others mx master is shait for productivity

I’m speechless every time I open one of your videos. 🎉
Thank you so much! 🙏
So informative! Thank you, am trying out Kando as I write this...
The algorithm brought me here and I'm not disappointed. Solid advice and good video!
Incredible selection of apps, thanks!
Good shit, I've been meaning to replace Logi Options software, thanks for sharing.
I was actually looking forward to you setting up better mouse and using the mouse but that never happened. This just seemed to explore the options.

Robert. How do you determine the priority of these utilities, which can pass to another and which can not? Through trial and error?
