    Great tutorial. Moisturizing part is new to me.

      Thanks bud! Moistening your knot before tightening it up is important, so you do not weaken the knot or leader line due to heat from the friction.

    Nice strong knot for tog fishing. I use hi-lo on boat when fishing for tog in NY/NJ because often cod are present in the same area. Cod mostly go for the top hook.

      You are definitely correct. This rig has worked well for me during Spring catching both togs and cod on clams. 😊👍🎣

      @@RafSowiOutdoors Thanks.
      Also, since I fill my reels with 1/2 braid backing and the rest mono, I have sufficient length of mono to retie if I get hung up in the rocks and lose a sinker or bottom hook.
      Unorthodox, I know, but it works better for me instead of a short leader or a rig attached with a swivel.

      @@pdr4271 that definitely happens often with sticky bottoms. I am planning my first tog/cod trip this weekend. Let's see how it goes. Tight lines my friend! 💪🎣

      @@RafSowiOutdoors Already took 2 trips out of Sheepshead Bay. We caught more cod than tog, but expecting tog bite to improve. Got another trip planned next week.
      Good luck and tight lines! 👍

      @@pdr4271 Very nice! I heard a lot of cod this year! If the weather holds, tog fishing can only get better from here! 😊👍

    @Raf Sowi where did you buy those pliers in this video from I like to get set

    • @RafSowiOutdoors
      @RafSowiOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, they are actually not pliers but heavy duty scissors from Bubba. They sell them in different sizes and I find them very useful. Definitely recommend them 😊👍🎣

      @@RafSowiOutdoors I like the handle end great for cinching a snell knot with the end holes I will have to look in my local hardware store 👍

      @@oculusrift6635 they are definitely useful and designed with anglers in mind. I have cut through fish bones, large fins, crabs for bait, etc. with them. The rubber grib also makes them comfy and less slippery 👍
