Great video! A tip for anyone using this on wifi. Most routers will default to a setting where it automatically chooses what band your device uses. You can change this to where you can manually choose between a 2.4ghz, 5 and wifi6 network. When i connected my ps5 and portal to the 5ghz band( the portal doesnt support wifi6) the connection improved a ton. Something to try if you're having any stuttering issues.
I dont understand the hate for it. for $200 this is a great price you get a Large dedicated high quality screen AND duel Sense controller. This is meant for people who want to casually game AT HOME when you just want to lounge around, the ADDED benefits is you can take it on the go and connect it to wifi or your phone, that to be is a bonus. The only thing thats a little off is the joysticks are a lot more loose than the duel sense but that may be done on purpose because of how you have to hold the unit.
It gets hate cos it doesn't nothing new. They got a tablet, split a controller and created a product. Many find it lazy and expensive for what it does. Many were expecting a new vita not this. All adds in cos its a niche device.
I'm fine with the joysticks. They do feel looser. I think its just because they're slightly smaller. It's not something that I couldn't quickly adapt to. Minor gripe
This device does what it was designed to do very well. It’s a dedicated streaming device for next gen gaming. I use my phone to call people and browse Facebook, not to stream on a 5 inch screen. It’s a great product period and I’m having fun. Can’t wait until Saturday and Sunday when I can watch college and nfl football and still game at the same time 💯💯💯
I love it. Takes time to get use to the feel of it. Felt strange but I’m loving it. Woke up in bed played this while mrs watched tv. didn’t have to move down stairs to play and could still be cosy up. Perfect device
loving mine the batt life is awesome been playing all the time cant put it down. zero lag never drop fps this is on of the best handheld on the market for home use was at the store and hot spot my portal and it played just as good on 5g network
True but at the end of the day people's complaints are justified. What did the majority want? Something like a PSP or a Vita 2. What did we get? THIS!!!. And before you say 'oh it's only for a specific niche market', how does that make sense in regards to catering for a wider audience sales wise? Oh and by the way, forget using the Portal on Public Wi-Fi because it won't work.
I wouldn't complain at all if they came out with a vita 2 digital and physical copies won't lag and that's the only reason ppl complaining about the portal
@jordanking7711 it would cost double or more, and likely fail within 2 years and drop support again. No company even nintendo will run two segregated game lineups again. And if they tried PS6/PS6Portable with same games at two different sques, the portable would hold the big console back like Series S/X
@@jeffcarrier9808 Well the Portal won't hold a big fan base either considering it is only directed at a specific niche market. At least with the Vita or PSP regardless of sales previously, it catered to a wider audience.
I had game breaking lag the first night. Next night it was smooth as butter. I had to force myself to go to bed. Did the black cat mission on spiderman 2 and you know that was fast and wild. Worked great. Just depends on connection Edit: wifi ps5, in home wifi, did the .5
@CarlosRivera-zf3kk even better. Your connection to your ps5 is better if your ps5 is ethernet connected and your portal is connected over wifi to the same network as your ps5
the only thing i can think the air plane mode is for is maybe they are adding direct connection as an option for essentially offline play, with remote play it needs the active broadband connection to work but it used to have an option to connect it directly to the playstions wifi like the wiiu gamepad however when they had the feature the ps4 only had 2.4gh wifi and it wasnt strong enough to justify using it over normal wifi
The Airplane mode disables the antenna. The Portal has it's own rest mode. When you tell the PS5 to go into rest mode over remote play the Portal also goes into its own rest mode. After a flight you can disable airplane mode to allow the antenna again and connect without restarting the Portal. Also, I believe there are some international electronic product rules and regulations that requires this feature for portable communication devices that are capable of broadcast with radio transmitters.
I love my Portal. The only thing that I hate is that for some reason, I can't connect to my PS5 with my friends' T-Mobile Hotspot, but if I use my cell Hotspot, it works just fine. Also, just a heads-up if you do 2 player gaming, the Portal will always be player 1 & the controller will player 2. I tested that out yesterday.
Bro, thank you for being so honest and genuine in this review. I ordered my playstation portal and it hasn't arrived yet but with so many negative reviews I started to panic and regret having bought it. Thanks to you I have regained hope. You've gained a lifelong follower from the Dominican Republic.
Love mine. Its all i have been playing on since i got it. I feel i am going to playing on the portal more than my main set up. So convient. Playing upsairs away from ps5 and router right now trying finish spiderman 2. I feel like it eas great purchase.
Little tip if yours runs a bit laggy out the box, I had to restart mine and for some reason it runs better on 2.4ghz than 5ghz idk if that’s a bug or what I’m sure they’ll be updates in the future that improve performance so I’m not worried
I had the same issue with my Playstation back then, but it ended up actually being a WiFi router problem, for me. So yeah, it makes sense to try both options, to see which works better for you. 👍🏻
love mine, Love not having to fight for tv time with the kids lol.. also love playing a few round in bed before going down. so far I have not had any issues. hope Sony lets us stream from the PS Plus library soon. would be a life changer, and yes I know its not perfect but for what I had for expectations its so far going above.
Best 23 mins spent today. Thanks for such a great video. I was skeptical about buying this but now I am sold. I am always out and about and if I can play games like Spiderman or AC Mirage etc. on this easily, then I am not going to complain. Thank you again and keep putting out the amazing content.
I think that, when my connection is good, the portal is the best experience I’ve had playing games handheld. It’s like the Switch but more comfortable in your hands
The PlayStation Portal can be considered an extension of your mobile gaming device as it will be using the same mobile Data connection as far as online is concerned. Just wished it could play media movies
Oh man I was really hyped about getting the portal sometime next year or the year after but your comment about possible stick drift really got me to hit the brakes a bit. You’re review is extremely helpful and I’m 100% subscribing since I found myself scrolling past other PSPortal reviews just to find yours. Keep doin your thing man 👍👍👍👍👍
Got to say I love mine, the screen is amazingly good and I’m shocked it’s not oled because you can’t tell. The thumb sticks may be a little small for some but man it’s great being able to carry on gaming whilst still watching what others want on the tv.
I would like to point out if you are planning on using public wi-fi access (i.e. hotels, coffee shops, businesses, etc. no matter how good those places internet is) in most cases may not be accessible to the PS Portal. Even though Sony says their own PS Portal sales page and in literature that you can easily access public wi-fi points, in truth most public points often require you to agree to terms, enter room numbers, temporary passwords, enter other info, etc. in order to gain access to those wi-fi network internet and that requires a web browser to do so, and unfortunately this this device has no web browser. So, you are out of luck. Also take into consideration you will eat up quite a bit of data if streaming for an extending period of time using your phone as wi-fi hotspot. So, unless you have unlimited data as part of your mobile plan and that service doesn't downgrade from 5G to 4G or throttle after certain amount of data usage as many do be wary of this as well.
I like and respect your review. One thought. The dual sense controller may be an option for a “Pro Portal”? I think if they do a pro portal, they could include those.. and maybe offer a web browser, ability to stream Netflix/peacock/etc. or even turn it into the next gen PSP. One can dream, right?
The stick drift is a great point. I've had to replace them in a few Nintendo switch controllers and it's not terribly difficult but who knows how it might be with this.
Watching the teardown the screen actually looks very easy to replace, now the cost of the panel is a whole different story. Right now obviously you're unable to find 1, but when you are the cost of a new device may be better than replacing the screen. It is only $200 after all. Unlike a phone which runs 1400 screen replacement cost can be justified.
Not sure if anyone else has done this. I’m using my original pulse wireless headset and they work with portal. The dongle has a decent range so I’m sat in the bedroom and it connects with no sound delay 👍👍👍😎
This is the best review by far. My plan to use this is I have a 2 year old and his room is next to my office/game room. Now with this I can shift over another room and play without waking him up.
My first 24 hours was a disaster with this portal. The lag made it so unplayable and then about an hour ago I went into my router settings and change channels and now I’m a smooth experience I put Spider-Man to the test for an hour straight and only had a minor lag or two the whole time compared to what I was experiencing day one. I love this portal now. !!!
Same. I put my PS5 and Portal on the 5G side of wifi and it was better. I didn't have any issues when the PS5 was wired in with the Portal on 5G though.
Appreciate the vid, BUT... just like with every electronic device, the first few days using it are always the best days. I'm waiting for the 6mo-1yr time point to see how it's still holding up.
Ckid congratulations man you finally made it to the 100k I feel so proud of you I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning man keep grinding I know you will make it to the million
Now, the cons are, it lacks some type of web browser so that you can get on internet connections that need you to confirm the internet use like at hotels and internet at jobs. I don’t always want to use my phone as a hotspot. Also, this only happened once and luckily I was home when it happened. I was playing Spiderman 2 and there was one particular load scene that froze everything up. It froze on the Portal and my PS5. I actually had to pull the power and restart my PS5. Then the Portal had trouble connecting but found it again after a few tries.
Wait, so your PS5 is on your home network, and then you connected the Portal to your iPhone hotspot and it worked???? Am I understanding that correctly????
Yeah that is how connecting via remote play on a hotspot has always worked on all remote play devices. The only real difference is the duel sense features on the Portal.
@@DRE2XLyeah it’s the same as remote play, but seems to run better. I tried it on an iPad Pro before , wasn’t good at all. Washed out colors. The portal looks phenomenal on my home network.
This device has lived up to all my expectations. I wanted something that would allow me to game anywhere in or around the house other than my man cave. Its not great for online multiplayer, but i expected that. I'm very satisfied and could care less about all the trolls and their hating.
People are hating this because the PSP and especially the vita did all the things this does PLUS played its own AND your PS games!!! This thing is an embarrassment to Gamers because WE KNOW what Sony is capable of and this thing is the absolute bare minimum. It’s 10 steps backwards.
@JUDAHYAHWEHKiNG Learn English. Nothing you said makes sense and you contradicted yourself three times. No one said anything about the graphics you newb
Plus Sony Is going to be adding cloud gaming to the PS5Portal. That way you can play any PS games on the PS5Portal anywhere in the world as long as you can connect to the internet. The PS5P will also allow you to turn on and off your PS5 at home, coming in a future update. Another outstanding device made by Sony.
The problem is that people are treating this like a console when its literally an accessory. Its literally a controller with a screen. If im gonna choose between this and a pro controller im choosing this all day everyday.
Yeah!! Some of the comparisons and criticisms are really bizarre... I wish folks would keep it in context... Would they compare a Dualsense to a Switch?? The real comparison is the ps5 as a whole Vs whatever...
Im new here and i want to say i appreciate ypur energy and insight. I also want to thank you for the hack on the headset. I thought i just brought my h7 inzone for nothing, i had for the console and thought i could use for portal. Many reviews never mentioned by muting the portal you could use your headset. Big plus.....👏👍🏽
Can you do a video running the portal with the system wired vs doing remote play from a different device under the same circumstances? I think that will show people if there is a difference between just remote playing and using the portal.
Love the Portal, I had a few issues with connectivity until I wired the PS5 up instead of using Wi-Fi! Well done in reaching 100000 subscribers I love watching your reviews 👍
Awesome video review bro, keep up the great work. Yeah there was tons of hate for it and now they all want it but it’s sold out, glad I got mine but great information this video was helpful. Congrats on your 100K keep pushing God Bless 😇 Happy Holidays
great video, subscribed for sure. i feel like the main argument some people have is : "well why would i get the portal, when i can just spend $100-150 more and get the steam deck and have access to way more games.." i'm not one of those people, as i bought a portal. the point is still valid though. i think the confusion for people is that this is just a accessory for the ps5 where as the steam deck is a console itself. so for someone that doesn't have a ps5, obviously the hate is going to stem.. because they now gotta spend another 400$ to experience that or hit up a friend to connect to there ps5 Def worth the $200, now buying the resells for $400 ? idk about all that. steam is probably the better option at that point regardless if you have a PS5. people will always complain anyways even if the ps portal was stand alone.
As others have mentioned, the battery life is phenomenal. I have played multiple games in succession for hours. I got tired of gaming before the battery got tired of me.
Dude you are the GOAT I’ve been searching for someone with the stones to play COD on one of these and so far NOTHING that’s insane right!?! And as for that pro tip about the headsets man game changer for real!!!! P.S. thought COD was giving out hush money not to show their game on the portal for a while now😂
I found your channel because you were the only person i could find that had anything positive to say about the portal lol im glad i did i value honest opinions
I’m having tons of fun with my ps portal. It’s not the same as using remote play on your phone, those saying it is the same haven’t experienced the portal. For $200 it’s well worth the price
The Steam Deck can remote play PS5 games too and can play your entire Steam library natively as well. The Portal being a streaming only device is a real bummer. I was a huge fan of the PSP and Vita which both had remote play. I think the failure of the Vita made Sony gunshy about releasing another fullblown portable, but the Vita would've been much more successful had Sony not gone with a proprietary SD chip and just had some faith in its product. Some big mistakes easily corrected but nah, here's an online only streaming device. Sad.
I’m not going to tell anyone what to do with their money. I’m a longtime Sony fan, but I’m also 42 and I have kept all of my consoles and handhelds since the 80s I don’t have worries about a second screen because I have a game room, but I got this because it looked interesting and I had the expendable cash. I have 450+ download Mbps and 15 upload Mbps on my PS5 and it’s lan-lined in. I experienced stuttering, lag, annoying delays playing games like Elden Ring, Remnant 2, Fallout 76 and even Among Us. Not everyone has had the same experience but I have seen LOTs of similar reviews. So…I don’t know. What can I say? I sent mine back. I can stick to my Steam Deck and Switch for mobile gaming.
@@JudahiamKngAre you discrediting his personal experience? Seems to be the only defense Portal owners have, "well my experience has ben A++ so yall have to be lying" smh. There already are multiple reviews on TH-cam supporting his claim with tests and statistics showing the ms delay, which connection is best ( proven to be dual sense with clip attachment for phone or tablet), hotspot, etc. You should do more research before being so asinine
@@MrRenziJack we know a lot of people on here are trolls and fanboys that’s why. How do you have those speeds and experiencing issues when ppl like me have lower internet speeds and this thing is still running amazing. Also him saying he will stick to his Steam Deck and Switch for mobile gaming is a dead giveaway that he’s full of it
honest I never saw the issue people had with the Portal. OK I understand it may not be for everyone or that they wanted a new Vita like console but its still a cool concept for those that do want one. I actually want it for when I dont want to sot in my game room and maybe want to lay in bed and still play some games on my ps5. I getting it soon.
My portal had troubles connecting first when my ps5 had Lan connection so I changed it to wifi. I will have to try Lan again and see whats up. I’m pretty satisfied with the wifi setup though. Currently out of state at family house and portal has been running smooth.
Thank’s for honest man ! Stick drift will be pain in the ass. Shame that they didn’t do option for change that also to add underbuttons. It would be ultimate gaming machine !
Love mine!!! Played Horizon FW on it since it’s in my backlog and amd very happy with it. Can’t lie at first I was like wtf haha because I was downloading a game to the ps5 and trying to use the portal but as soon as that finished it was smooth sailing! Great device! Get one!
The best thing about the portal!!!!! I can play while laying in bed and don’t have to focus or WEAR my contacts/glasses. Now I want to connect my portal to my friend ps5, that way… if I need a 2nd player to do exploits and glitches. I can be like, let me use your ps5 for a min. Just turn off the TV when I’m on it. You will never know I’m on it.
Great vid/review. i like the design also. my expectation was not a ps5 in my hand.. i wanted a newer psp they did not deliver that. BUT imagine once they add internet how much better this device can be rooted or modded to get older or games.. the potential is there in the future. adding internet and other apps like hulu and or youtube to watch on this great screen also changes things tremendously. idk if an update can do that but still.
Great video, your a natural. I think the portal is a great product. What I found works for the audio, if you get a $25 airplane Bluetooth dongle and plug it into the 3.5mm headphone jack, you can use your Bluetooth headphone via that dongle….no problem.
Thank you for saying like it is bro your the best I seen tons of sites and you got that something special and you answered the bluetooth question we have been wondering and you answered it to a T. It's Sunday and I am going to say GOD BLESS you and yours always many more fortunes come your way keep doing what your doing 🙏.
I tired using my pulse 3d i have. I tunred the portal volume down. This works as the ps5 is on producing audio. I was able use then upstair away from the ps5. This wont work if your away from home. But but it isba work around if dont want to use a wired headset in the house. Love the portal.
I love my PlayStation portal. Yeah, that's one problem I think it has is if you don't have games downloaded in your system, you can't play it. Without a disk in it so I have to buy a digital version of Cyberpunk 2077 for no reason or Modern Warfare 2
It might yet work on public with TOS, the Portal has a browser!! Although it's locked at the moment... Maybe a future update?? Also, you could use your phone as a hot spot after signing TOS. Maybe we could use the ps app to sign the TOS and somehow link that back to the Portal?? There definitely will be a way at some point in the future 🤞
Hey CKidm, I love your videos and huge fan l. I recently bought the Playstation portal and I did everything right to connect to my ps5 but it still won't go past the blue circle screen to enter the game. Can you help me?
If you enjoy this device, rock on. Enjoy. No hate. But personally, I'd take that $200 and put it toward a SteamDeck OLED, or a Switch OLED, both of which I'd rather have than a wifi-only streaming device.
I pre-ordered the Portal and now that I have it I love it. I love that I can lay in bed next to my girlfriend and play Alan Wake 2 while she watches Netflix.
Looking at the price of a dualsense controller, you honestly think this is only worth $99? And for a "proper" ps handheld, you'd have to pay a $500 minimum
A Dualsense controller and an alternative display for £200 is extremely reasonable in my opinion!! When you say "limited features" what exactly do you want from a Dualsense with an alternative display?? It's the ps5 that has the features!!
@CKidM: Thank you for your videos and reviews. I am still a little disappointed in the PS portal cause of the lags. I have done everything you and others have suggested - it performs better than beingon WiFi - however, the lag is still quite noticeable. I am torn between whether to really keep this device or to return it for good. I own pretty much everything PS consoles and other than the graphics etc - I like PS-Vita (for real). I have hard wired PS5 to the router and changed basic games to 'Performance' and still there is some lag and not as seamless as I was hoping. Do you also see some lag? Any suggestions you have? Am I being too picky?
Lmao!!! I freaking love this handheld… I been playing my ps5 more often because I don’t like wearing glasses while I play and I can just lay in bed with headphone on. My girl doesn’t like it because how happy I’m and quite I get. I been playing that persona five tactics and it perfect for the portal.
Hi mate. When I'm sitting on my couch I have around 300 MB/s but I quickly noticed every game I played on the portal was lagging. After I saw your video I switched up the PS5 console to a LAN cable. Now I have around 980 MB/s. Unfortunately I still have the same problems on the portal. Even with offline games like AC mirage and EAFC24. What the f is the problem here? Can you please help

loving mine the batt life is awesome been playing all the time cant put it down. zero lag never drop fps this is on of the best handheld on the market for home use was at the store and hot spot my portal and it played just as good on 5g network
That's what I've been noticing is the battery life is really good on it...even better than the DualSense controllers by themselves lol
Portal $200: packaged in a french styled pull-out drawer with an external box
PS5 $500: packaged using egg cartons and no external box
make sense
lol
Thats still 700 see what PC you cant get 😂
People will never be satisfied. Even if Sony were to release a ps via 2 they will find something to complain about
True but at the end of the day people's complaints are justified.
@@jordanking7711 I understand
Only person online to mention the screen protector for the portal.. BIG W
I'm not tryna see my people out there with the cracked screen...we can't move like that out here lol
I had game breaking lag the first night. Next night it was smooth as butter. I had to force myself to go to bed. Did the black cat mission on spiderman 2 and you know that was fast and wild. Worked great. Just depends on connection
Edit: wifi ps5, in home wifi, did the .5
W...yea after that first lag it like straightens itself out...and now it's smooth as butta
Will I be able to play destiny 2 and connect to my fire team team and communicate with them and hear them from inside my home?
@@CarlosRivera-zf3kk yes. even better if you have headset or earbuds with aux that has a mic.
So if I'm hard wired to my PS5 I don't have to worry about wifi on my portal.
I'm probably wrong, but I think airplane mode is a requirement for any portable device with Wi-Fi and cellular signals.
Interesting....thanks for sharing that
The Airplane mode disables the antenna.
@@MaindricNot wrong - this is exactly why it has airplane mode. 👍
I’m loving mine! Been playing it since Wednesday and I can’t put it down.. I’m very happy with this purchase 👍🏻
It's literally my favorite purchase of 2023. I'm loving mine too.
Love mine. Its all i have been playing on since i got it. I feel i am going to playing on the portal more than my main set up. So convient. Playing upsairs away from ps5 and router right now trying finish spiderman 2. I feel like it eas great purchase.
My biggest worry for getting one is it getting stick drift a few months down the line
Sounds like PTSD
@@joedanero5360 absolutely I’ve gone through about 5 ps5 pads just from drift
Little tip if yours runs a bit laggy out the box, I had to restart mine and for some reason it runs better on 2.4ghz than 5ghz idk if that’s a bug or what I’m sure they’ll be updates in the future that improve performance so I’m not worried
I had the same issue with my Playstation back then, but it ended up actually being a WiFi router problem, for me.
So yeah, it makes sense to try both options, to see which works better for you. 👍🏻
W comment!
5G is speed but loses connectivity fast if you move away from the router. 2.4G remains stable at further distance but loses speed.
Depends on your area brodi
Mine was laggy on 2.4. Bumped it to 5G and all is well. Unwired PS5 btw
love mine, Love not having to fight for tv time with the kids lol.. also love playing a few round in bed before going down. so far I have not had any issues. hope Sony lets us stream from the PS Plus library soon. would be a life changer, and yes I know its not perfect but for what I had for expectations its so far going above.
But is it a in house device? I am worried about how strong the WiFi has to be to play it. I travel a lot and hotel WiFi is not that good.
U know whats crazy .. I be wanted to play at night but don't feel like going through all the steps . I get this turn on boom
It's so good. I heard that he PS Plus Library is coming soon...I think this is Phase 2 of this product.
As a gamer dad, this is a godsend. Putting the PS5 on a LAN A connection makes mine play smooth. Love it
The PlayStation Portal can be considered an extension of your mobile gaming device as it will be using the same mobile Data connection as far as online is concerned.
As I type I’m playing “God of War” on the “PS Portal “while my son watches tv.👍
So legit!
I literally just opened mine and I’m so excited. So far I’m not disappointed! 😊
I'm about to do the same
Same here I was sad it wasn’t OLED but damn does it look good
@@cory4548 I have to admit, for a LCD screen, it’s pretty nifty. Could barely tell it wasn’t OLED.
It's so good! What games you playing @Phenomenal268
Even the LCD screen looks really good.
I love mine. I’m not worried about the haters. CKid you are right again. I can’t wait to get my pulse explorer headphones
Same here
I can’t wait until I get my Portal - hoping the wife will get me one for Christmas 😉
She is a good wife. You will owe her a foot rub afterwards. 😂
Buy it yourself homie
My first 24 hours was a disaster with this portal. The lag made it so unplayable and then about an hour ago I went into my router settings and change channels and now I’m a smooth experience I put Spider-Man to the test for an hour straight and only had a minor lag or two the whole time compared to what I was experiencing day one. I love this portal now. !!!
What have you done exactly?
Man I appreciate you....you have been rocking wit me since Day 1...much respect!
Congratulations on 100k! your reviews are excellent and very enjoyable. keep up the good work !!
Thanks I appreciate the support!
I like your style man. you kept my interest and were informative and not everyone does that well so great job. subscribed!
Yes
Correct
Hell yea, this keeps getting better and better!
Isn’t the cloud gaming thing just a rumor? I’d love it to be true and would finally subscribe to the cloud service if it does happen.
@@rivec33 Sony already announced it. The PS5P is good now but will get even better.
@@lordkukunice. Guess I’m signing up for the cloud service soon then.
Some people can’t get over the fact that some products aren’t meant for them. This is a good product. Just a dad who can’t use the tv at times.
This, exactly... for those times when I'm forced to put on Bluey on my gaming TV. 😅
So true! It's so good...I'm loving mine.
The selling point was you saying you have small thumbs my guy. I’m sold
I just hope parents don’t mess up this Christmas and buy for their kids without a PS5😭😭😭
Congrats on 100k brother
Appreciate it!!
Congrats on 100k and nice job on the review
Thank you! 🙏🏾
great video, subscribed for sure.
i feel like the main argument some people have is : "well why would i get the portal, when i can just spend $100-150 more and get the steam deck and have access to way more games.."
i'm not one of those people, as i bought a portal. the point is still valid though. i think the confusion for people is that this is just a accessory for the ps5 where as the steam deck is a console itself. so for someone that doesn't have a ps5, obviously the hate is going to stem.. because they now gotta spend another 400$ to experience that or hit up a friend to connect to there ps5
Def worth the $200, now buying the resells for $400 ? idk about all that. steam is probably the better option at that point regardless if you have a PS5.
people will always complain anyways even if the ps portal was stand alone.
P.S. thought COD was giving out hush money not to show their game on the portal for a while now😂
Nice video, is it better if I connect the ps5 to a lan cable?
Yeah, if you can connect the LAN
I got mine hardwired to the router. The portal runs great. I forget it’s streaming from the ps5.
Same @aaronwalsh8469
It works great for what it’s supposed to do. If your WiFi is at least decent, the experience is smooth
I found your channel because you were the only person i could find that had anything positive to say about the portal lol im glad i did i value honest opinions
Love it. Haven’t played on my ps5 since Wednesday. Great review
Same. I have not played in my main set up since.
Don't be surprised to see a PlayStation Portal Pro with Edge features.
I'm going to be talking about this in the next video.
I’m having tons of fun with my ps portal. It’s not the same as using remote play on your phone, those saying it is the same haven’t experienced the portal. For $200 it’s well worth the price
How do you use the trackpad for ghost of Tsushima for the hearing ? I can’t figure it out. Great video
Sad.
I love my portal. As long as your PS5 is connected with Ethernet the portal is super smooth and a hell of a lot of fun.
Its True 1st day is was Running weird now its running perfect😂😂im not worried tho they also fix any problems with Updates..
Some people on Reddit were saying reboot the portal after updating firmware. Maybe that’s why it was better the next day.
Yea I agree
I’m not going to tell anyone what to do with their money. I’m a longtime Sony fan, but I’m also 42 and I have kept all of my consoles and handhelds since the 80s
I don’t have worries about a second screen because I have a game room, but I got this because it looked interesting and I had the expendable cash.
Lmfao sure man FoH and your internet speeds faster than mines and I’m not having any issues it’s smooth as butter
You will never know I’m on it.
one of the most in depth videos, keep it up brother
Thanks my guy! 💯
Thank you for the hak! I was ready to go off because I brought the inzone buds and come to find out they're not compatible with the portal.
another possible workaround for wireless?!?a 3mm headphone jack bluetooth attachment like the ones used for switch!!
Awesome review. I was waiting for this. Thank you!
I wonder if it would work if you leave you ps5 at your house and you take the portal to another country with you without the ps5.
If you leave it on rest mode, yes. It won't work however on a public Wi-Fi hotspot that requires you to agree to their ToS. That has been confirmed.
I'm mostly getting it t9 play out and about on a hotspot. will multiplayer work good on hotspots?
If you enjoy this device, rock on. Enjoy. No hate. But personally, I'd take that $200 and put it toward a SteamDeck OLED, or a Switch OLED, both of which I'd rather have than a wifi-only streaming device.
I pre-ordered the Portal and now that I have it I love it. I love that I can lay in bed next to my girlfriend and play Alan Wake 2 while she watches Netflix.
PS Portal should've been $99 for all of its limited features. On the flip side, I'd have no problem shelling out $300 for a _proper_ PS handheld.
No way this could be the same price as the BackBone...way more features than that.
Sounds like you are just salty because you couldn't get a ps5 for $200.
CKid what do you think if Sony comes up with a stand to set it in and come up with a controller to link it like the headset that are coming out soon.
I would like that...especially if they give us a pro controller option.
CKid!! Did you try it connected to XREAL AR glasses?
