Just a friendly suggestion to maybe add parts or chapters to your video so viewers can easily skip through the video for parts not relevant to them or interested in! You should do a video comparing them to the Pulse Explores!
The audio is insane on these when it comes to clarity, especially when you get the 3d audio height right, and have the 3d audio turned on. It’s not super bass heavy but, it caused me to start a new playthrough of days gone and mannnnn it’s like a brand new game. I’m hearing things that I’ve never heard before. I used to play using the Sony xm4 aux to the controller. And it’s a night and day difference.
@@CKidM yeah 4 to me sounds the best overall though, I look for the one that sounds closest to ear level for me. It’s insane though what I pick up with these, you should try days gone if you haven’t yet.

I'm a bass guy and typically not only listen to things with bass boost, but also reduce treble so I can turn up the sound and artificially raise the boost even higher, but man... When I got these headphones and put them on and played Destiny, I realized that there was a range of sounds that I was straight up not hearing because of my narrowminded "max bass, minimum treble" outlook, they kind of converted me into listening for more of the high end sound, they are so CRISP. I am gonna boost the bass a bit more, but not as much as their default "bass boost" mode does, I'll probably settle for something in-between, because I'm really enjoying the crispness - I feel like if bass is what you are looking for, then you shouldn't be buying headphones with planar magnetic drivers, or if you are set on buying ones like that, then spend the extra money and get the audeze maxwells, but give these a shot if you're even a tiny bit open-minded because they changed gaming for me, the sound is so immersive now!
I'm impressed with the Pulse Elites and glad I waited for them over the Pulse Explores. Tip: The lil dock charge station also charges your PS5 Controller. Tip: For the MW3 players in the game settings, set the audio to Headphones Bass Boost, with your Bass Boost Pulse Elite EQ preset, sounds crazy!!! 💯
Yea these are way better than the Pulse Explorer’s and yep I sat the controller on it and saw that it works. I’m gonna mention that in my next video on them. Yea COD sounds amazing on them.
You get alot more technology in the Pulse Elites than you would Pulse Expores, obviously I'm no engineer but common sense told me, bigger ear cups more materials, £129.99 Elites or £200 Explores, for me easy decision 🙌🏿💪🏿😄
The only thing I don't like is the height calibration tool for both Pulse versions is I can't tell the difference between many of the settings. I have to fire up and play a game to hear the difference but once you find that sweet spot the 3D audio is crisp & clear on the Elite which allows me to hear certain effects that I never experienced before. In fact the audio is such a big upgrade I want to go back and replay many of my completed games.
Your sound in the headsets depends on the EQ you’re using it gives you two presets and three custom ones that you can rename. Not a bass type driver headset also!

Absolutely LOVE MINE. Replaced my old wired HyperX Cloud Stinger and its drastically better. The planars are amazing. Imaging is amazing. Really comfortable. Basically forgot it was on my head. Gamed with it for around 4hrs no hot ears either. The playstation link is definitely a game changer. I've tried other wireless headsets in the past but never seemed to get as loud or sound as detailed as my cheap wired HyperX due to the bandwidth loss. Well with the playstation link that is gone and its crystal clear and can get loud. I had my volume hovering around maybe 70. Bass is good too. If you dont think these have enough bass than you are crazy. I dont need bass the equivalent of a 12" subwoofer in the trunk of a car. I mean cmon. I also kept the foam pads that came in between the ear cups and frame. Helps keep them from banging around and it seems to make them feel more sturdy taking them off and on your head. Regardless this headset ROCKS.
So I actually did try it and to me it felt too flat of a sound profile for me. The clarity was there but it needed more of punch to me. Bass Boost is the better one for COD hands down.
I've got a few different sets of headphones but mainly daily drive a set of Sony MDR-XB950 ($150ish territory) wired headphones as well as a set of Ultrasone HFi 2400's ($320ish MSRP), (Competitors to Sennheiser HD650s/AKG Q701s). Im lacking on the amp/DAC side as im just using my Focusrite 2i2 that I use for guitar playback but also have a Astro A40-TR mixamp (usb as no digital optical present on PS5 ;/) that I use to drive them. My first impressions were that I was expecting to be blown away over the Sony platinums and wasn't really feeling that.... That feeling quickly went away. The more I used them, the more I began to notice subtle nuanced little sounds I'd never heard before in all the thousands of hours i've spent on my PS5. Subtle background swishing effects in the PS5 menu and tactile little taps suddenly become defined, discernible, and easily noticed in regards to location/movement. In Gran Turismo 7, I began noticing the sounds of my suspension traveling and clacking as I'd compress my springs over dips in the track or over raised apexs. 10/10. At $150 if you're concerned with sound stage and features, nothing comes close. Sony is a true audio company through and through and it still shows. In regards to bass boost mode, these cans specifically just aren't that great at bass. If you turn on bass boost but start turning your volume up, you'll hear that bass get distorted quickly. But I think what's giving it that clincally insane levels of detail is the fact that it's tuned a very specific way and unfortunately it's not tuned to deliver bass, i'd get another set of headphones as a backup or a main if that's important to you or you don't care about clarity that much.
OMG - I thought I was the only one who has Sony MDR. I use it bluetooth mode and I love it. For some reason my MacBook Air refuse to find this headset. any suggestions?

Did you try them for more than a week? I did. I really enjoyed them until they started to randomly disconnect from the PS5. Re-pairing did not work either. I’m getting ready to return them.
Just received mine today and man these were definitely worth the money. The amount of clarity I heard from these bad boys are very impressive, I'll be using this for awhile now especially with the Portal.
#NOT A SOUND....as you were demonstrated on the mic al at first you could hear the bag not the munch,the video jumped and your sounded more clearer and literally not a sound from the crunch or the bag at all. Amazing

Appreciate that fam...welcome to the Home Team! Man you putting me on the spot with this one...honestly when it comes to comfort they both are comfortable for me. In regards to sound...I still have to go with the Inzone Buds...only because the Bass is much richer (which is a personal preference), but when it comes to clarity in the audio I have to go with the Pulse Elite's. Hope that helps. And also know that with the INZONE Buds you only get the EQ settings for PC and not on the PS5. So keep that in mind.
Hope you get to my comment: I just bought the Pulse Elite and everything works great but the volume up and down buttons on the headset don’t seem to work at all. I press them and nothing happens. I have to go to the sound settings to adjust the volume. Am I doing something wrong here? I tried restarting ps5, resetting headset and nothing seems to work. Let me know. Is anyone else having this problem? Is my headset defective?

And the reason they usually don’t add a screw is cause of the fact that some people have a brick wall or concrete or wood. So they have to add more than 1 type. Keep it up!

I’m sure they do. Like with the pulse 3D ones I had before these. Just plug them directly into the psvr2 using the audio cable and it should be fine. That way I can have my 9.1 surround sound system on and mates over watching and have pure clear perfect audio in the headset at the same time 😜👌

Found your channel when I was doing my research about getting the pulse explore ear buds. I was very disappointed in the pulse explore earbuds. You did put me on to the Sony inzone buds cause I've been loving those ear buds. So happy to see your video about the Pulse elite head set. I agree with everything you said. I know you did the test on ps5 but curious about the cpu side of things when you connect the dongle into a desktop and what settings on there. Cause I've been looking for a good pair of gaming headphones for a while
I have a pair of H9, the Elite do not stand up to the sound quality and comfort. I can wear the H9 for 12hrs if I wanted. AND THIS POS IS NOT USB-C!!!! “For that reason, I’m out,” “you are the biggest loser”
The simultaneous bluetooth is a big win for me. I usually have my elgato hooked up and can't use spotify due to the HDCP setting. Now with these headphones I can listen to music while playing
Those ear cups wiggle on my head all the time and make a plastic clunk sound which is kind of annoying too especially when I walk around. Did you have this problem?
I think you might just need to try different ear tips with the pulse explore. The ones they come with are oddly shallow. I switched mine with the eartips from my Sony XM4s (Regular rubber eartips) and I get a much better seal and the bass hits way harder (and the sound is richer overall) than the Elite, which I also picked up. Elite is way better for battery life, though, and still sounds really good for the price.

Mine have randomly disconnected twice, I had to remove the usb adapter and plug it back in, baffled. I hope another update sorts the issue. Someone said plug the usb in the front. If the issue continues I'll try get a new usb adapter

Personal experience here. I got these on Saturday and returned them on Sunday. There is no latency, they have good fidelity, they are perfect in all aspects except for the one thing that made me return them. They have ZERO bass. I adjusted the sliders all the way for bass and removed all highs and it was still dead. That is my only complaint about them. I need my bass 👽 there's absolutely no punch, no crunch. If you don't mind that, then they're perfect. That's my opinion, hopefully it helps other bass nerds out there. 👉👌 Also Sony is sponsoring most of the TH-camrs that are reviewing them. 👉👌👉👌👉👌
Man to be honest I thought it was just me. The headset sounds amazing but I also just got the pulse explorers and to me at least the bass even sounds better on those then the headset. It could just be me though but I don't think so.
I ended up having to return my pair, had disconnection issues and then there was some static noise when you would hear a high pitch sound. They were nice for the most part but damn I can’t believe I got a defective one smh 🤦🏽♂️
Dammn! mine have disconnected twice in a few days, unexplainable too,just randomly after working for at least 30mins. Forcing me to unplug and replug the USB
I literally picked a set of these up yesterday because of your video.. I had a pair of the turtle beach stealth 700 maxes and I think these ones are better for half the cost.
The thing with the earbuds (and earbuds in general actually) if you don’t get a perfect seal it’s ruined. Try all the tips, maybe even get foam 3rd party ones.
Can you use the new pulse elite dongle with the old Pulse 3D headset? Or do I have to switch dongle if I want to use my old Pulse 3D headset? Thank you for your video.
I have mine and connected them to an external DAC for music since the internal one is not as great for music but the external gives much better sound. Then also found out I can connect the PlayStation Link adapter to my iPhone and iPad to get a better lossless sound than using Bluetooth but still not as good as my DAC.
Feeling my heartbeat in my temples is a major turn off. Never have this issue with my Pulse 3D. These are so much smaller than the 3Ds. If it doesn't self resolve, back to Best Buy they go.

The audio quality is unacceptable for the price. Comfort is on point. Unfortunately the do not work with PSVR2 as they simply do not fit over the headset. And I cannot understand this. Sony....you fucked up bra. You fucked up big time.
I was gonna grab these until I learned that they removed the ability to adjust the party chat volume DIRECTLY from the Headset. I know you can manually do it from the ps5 itself but that sucks when you’re in competitive gaming with a team. I’m using the Steelseries Arctics 7P+ which are already great headphones but also missing the ability to adjust the party chat volume. So for me makes no sense to grab this without the Party Chat Volume knob.
My Pulse 3D cup pleather wore out and flaked real bad but I was able to replace the cups with new ones. It’s not looking like this is an option with my Elites, bit concerning
Works great wit Playstation 5, would not recommend for PC. Noticeable hiss on PC and PS5. Latest firmware update did not solve it. Looking for a light weight alternative to my Audeze Maxwell, thought pulse elite would fulfill, will go back to Maxwell and deal with the weight
No so I actually was listening out for that when I was playing COD and I had the volume at max (which I don’t recommend for the health of your ears) but I didn’t hear any distortion
@@Joshda039there is distortion, many reviewers have stated. This is the reason I returned mine, distortion is a bad sign of drivers not being implemented correctly and tuned. Highly don’t recommend the headset

@@CKidM Headphones came in a day early. But I’m having trouble connecting using the Dongle. It seems like once I connect it to my PS5 and turn on my headphones it doesn’t connect.
It’s been like three days already, and I still can’t connect it to my PlayStation.. it will keep on telling me sometimes on top of the screen that I have to re-register it or register it with a USB plug and I’m doing everything in God’s country to make this work and nothing is working
No chewing sounds but bag crinkling oh yeah!!! But uh given the headset is excellent the scuffs on the ear cups like I would go on amazon and get some sticker labels to add carbon fiber look etc whatever you like. And that way we all keep these 💯

Dont worry about what mode you have it in they sound great. What mode will be up to you. If phony bass is your thing get some beats.

Appreciate that fam...welcome to the Home Team! Man you putting me on the spot with this one...honestly when it comes to comfort they both are comfortable for me. In regards to sound...I still have to go with the Inzone Buds...only because the Bass is much richer (which is a personal preference), but when it comes to clarity in the audio I have to go with the Pulse Elite's. Hope that helps. And also know that with the INZONE Buds you only get the EQ settings for PC and not on the PS5. So keep that in mind.

I think that was intentional so you can see from your peripheral vision that the headset is on and if you're on mute

How do you lower the chat volume? Friends talking is loud and can’t figure out where to adjust that between chat and game audio.

Hope you get to my comment: I just bought the Pulse Elite and everything works great but the volume up and down buttons on the headset don’t seem to work at all. I press them and nothing happens. I have to go to the sound settings to adjust the volume.
Am I doing something wrong here?

And the reason they usually don’t add a screw is cause of the fact that some people have a brick wall or concrete or wood. So they have to add more than 1 type. Keep it up!

I’m sure they do. Like with the pulse 3D ones I had before these. Just plug them directly into the psvr2 using the audio cable and it should be fine. That way I can have my 9.1 surround sound system on and mates over watching and have pure clear perfect audio in the headset at the same time 😜👌

The simultaneous bluetooth is a big win for me. I usually have my elgato hooked up and can't use spotify due to the HDCP setting. Now with these headphones I can listen to music while playing
Those ear cups wiggle on my head all the time and make a plastic clunk sound which is kind of annoying too especially when I walk around. Did you have this problem?

I think you might just need to try different ear tips with the pulse explore. The ones they come with are oddly shallow. I switched mine with the eartips from my Sony XM4s (Regular rubber eartips) and I get a much better seal and the bass hits way harder (and the sound is richer overall) than the Elite, which I also picked up. Elite is way better for battery life, though, and still sounds really good for the price.

Mine have randomly disconnected twice, I had to remove the usb adapter and plug it back in, baffled. I hope another update sorts the issue. Someone said plug the usb in the front. If the issue continues I'll try get a new usb adapter

Personal experience here. I got these on Saturday and returned them on Sunday. There is no latency, they have good fidelity, they are perfect in all aspects except for the one thing that made me return them. They have ZERO bass. I adjusted the sliders all the way for bass and removed all highs and it was still dead. That is my only complaint about them. I need my bass 👽 there's absolutely no punch, no crunch. If you don't mind that, then they're perfect. That's my opinion, hopefully it helps other bass nerds out there. 👉👌 Also Sony is sponsoring most of the TH-camrs that are reviewing them. 👉👌👉👌👉👌
Man to be honest I thought it was just me. The headset sounds amazing but I also just got the pulse explorers and to me at least the bass even sounds better on those then the headset. It could just be me though but I don't think so.

I ended up having to return my pair, had disconnection issues and then there was some static noise when you would hear a high pitch sound. They were nice for the most part but damn I can’t believe I got a defective one smh 🤦🏽♂️

I literally picked a set of these up yesterday because of your video.. I had a pair of the turtle beach stealth 700 maxes and I think these ones are better for half the cost.
The thing with the earbuds (and earbuds in general actually) if you don’t get a perfect seal it’s ruined. Try all the tips, maybe even get foam 3rd party ones.
Why can’t you switch between game volume and chat volume? It’s grayed out.

You could but it’s easier to just switch em instead of reprogramming your current one as you’d need to disconnect and plug it back in anyway

I have mine and connected them to an external DAC for music since the internal one is not as great for music but the external gives much better sound. Then also found out I can connect the PlayStation Link adapter to my iPhone and iPad to get a better lossless sound than using Bluetooth but still not as good as my DAC.
Feeling my heartbeat in my temples is a major turn off. Never have this issue with my Pulse 3D. These are so much smaller than the 3Ds. If it doesn't self resolve, back to Best Buy they go.

I was gonna grab these until I learned that they removed the ability to adjust the party chat volume DIRECTLY from the Headset. I know you can manually do it from the ps5 itself but that sucks when you’re in competitive gaming with a team.
I’m using the Steelseries Arctics 7P+ which are already great headphones but also missing the ability to adjust the party chat volume.
So for me makes no sense to grab this without the Party Chat Volume knob.
My Pulse 3D cup pleather wore out and flaked real bad but I was able to replace the cups with new ones. It’s not looking like this is an option with my Elites, bit concerning

Works great wit Playstation 5, would not recommend for PC. Noticeable hiss on PC and PS5. Latest firmware update did not solve it. Looking for a light weight alternative to my Audeze Maxwell, thought pulse elite would fulfill, will go back to Maxwell and deal with the weight
Forget the bass mode. Way to much low tones and you miss out on all the treble sounds.

No so I actually was listening out for that when I was playing COD and I had the volume at max (which I don’t recommend for the health of your ears) but I didn’t hear any distortion

@@Joshda039there is distortion, many reviewers have stated. This is the reason I returned mine, distortion is a bad sign of drivers not being implemented correctly and tuned. Highly don’t recommend the headset
