“Time” was my first introduction to Pink Floyd back in 73 and how Pink Floyd became my first concert, Chicago Amphitheater March 7, 1973. A couple of hours before the concert a friend’s brother said he could get us in a side door, he knew the guys on security. I jumped into the car with 3 friends and the five of us, squeezed into a Toyota, went to Chicago 35 miles away. The best concert I have ever seen. Gives me chills just thinking of it. No words good enough to explain how magnificent it was. Once in a lifetime experience.
This probably the greatest song in the history of human-kind. If the lyrics don't hit you in the gut then you probably are ignoring your eventual mortality.
Indeed. I'm turning 27 in april. First time I heard this song was in 2008 when I was 14 or 15. It didn't make much sense back then but it does hit my soul today, now that more than 10 years have got behind me...
The best band at their peak performance. (Comfortably Numb with the second guitar lead. Pure mastery from the planners, road crew, recording engineers, guitar and instrument techs, and light crew. It has it all: Poignant lyrics. I’m older now and hope to have Pulse songs playing as I fade away. I love the Beatles, but Pink Floyd reaches me deeper at this stage. I may leave this world with your beautiful music this year. After all, we can’t live forever. Thank you PF.
In 1979, I was just 20 years old..well after a all night of partying with friends, we all had to work the next morning..so for a wake up call I put this song on,and turned it up all the way without blowing up the speakers..those were some great times back then.🤗😎
I’m right behind you. Can you believe that we lived through the greatest musical journeys of all time? We had the best music, and it will never, ever be duplicated by anyone.

As a 13 year old, this is one of my top 3 favorite songs of all times. Most modern music sucks. Therefore, I have always listened to bands like the eagles and Pink Floyd. I just love this song it brings me so much joy.
I got into Pink Floyd when I was about your age some 40 plus years ago. I too hated modern music then 😳. Obviously the wall came out about that time but we were hesitant to like it because it wasn’t 60’s and 70’s music. It definitely rocked !!! Glad to see the respect and love of classic rock n roll
The best of Pink Floyd is Roger’s creativity and lyrics and Gilmour’s guitar skills put together. That is why “ Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall” are their greatest works.
If what you are saying is true, I applaud you for having such a fine ear for music at your age. I would be one to agree that there was some very good music produced from the great bands of the past, but that is the problem... most all of the great bands are from the past. But keep a watchful ear open, as I believe there is a good chance that some new great bands may be forming on the horizon, who may bring us some very delightful surprises. Perhaps you are thinking about becoming a musician?
There are great modern bands. It's just not as mainstream as some of the mediocre pop/rap artists, especially to people in your grade, I know, I'm only 2 years older. There was mediocre music and music artists who lacked much talent back then too. But there are great rap and pop artists today who you can take seriously, and are very talented. Same goes for other music genres like folk for example. And even metal and punk are still in the underground. You just have to be opened minded enough to see(and everyone likes what they like as well, can't force you to be into something). And a lot of people who listen to older music like this, aren't open minded enough to see, because they're either young and think they were born in the wrong generation, or their old and think anything new sucks because they can't handle change.

fourth track on The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) and was released as a single in the United States. Bassist Roger Waters wrote the lyrics and the music is credited to all four band members. Keyboardist Richard Wright shares lead vocals The lyrics deal with the passage of time - time can slip by, but many people do not realise it until it is too late. Waters got the idea when he realised he was no longer preparing for anything in life, but was right in the middle of it. its long introductory passage of clocks chiming and alarms ringing, recorded as a quadrophonic test by Alan Parsons, not specifically for the album
year ago I told my mom I'm older now shorter of breath and closer to death and it scared her , she said dont say that , God Bless her soul I miss her. The summer days are long but the years pass fast.
Yes, I was there but outside listening and Watching the Purple Haze over the Stadium. I was almost impossible not to get STONED even OUTSIDE. Loved the Music 🎶 and had some Albums.
The song that made me pick up guitar definitively at 18 and never look back, after sitting on the couch one rainy summer afternoon at a friends’s house and this jam coming on. That was over 6 years ago now. This song is also what sent me onto a deep, obsessive dive into their work.
A progressive ballad song with a guitar solo, very melodious and sweet. 🤘🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤ Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can And when I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells
My second favourite band after the mighty Slade. Pink Floyd take you on a melancholy wonderous musical trip which is out of this world. Slade on the other hand, would kick you in the chest and keep kicking you for an hour, no nonsense rock & roll...brilliant! 💖🎩😎

Have listen to Pink Floyd for year- the longer I listen to this group, THE MORE I love them!!!! Their music just flows so beautifully, and then there are the light show- what can I say-simply MAGIC!!!! Musical geniuses!!!!
In 1977 I was in Germany, well it was wake up call..so I took my big ass Kingwood speakers..put them in the hallway, and cranked this song from the album "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON"...WHAT A WAKE UP CALL AT 0400 IN THE MORNING😎😎😎💪🇺🇲
There are times when I forget that Rick Wright is gone. Hurts a little amongst the other hurts. I know that David Gilmour was especially hurt by his early departure from earth. I am hoping with all I have that one of my grand or great grandchildren will find a way to stop cancer or a vaccination to boost the body’s ability to fight that awful, terrible disease that takes lives too soon. 😎
Time changes everything. Growth of who we are and who we become. With or without the person being here or not. Will not change the situation of good and that the only thing time can't change is the heart. 💕
I am 53 years old, I saw them in concert in 1988. before this date I have them .... but since I am unconditional .. I listen to them at least once a week ...

Being my favorite comfortably numb, The whole album dark side of the moon should be put in the Smithsonian For later mankind, Let me go a little farther All of Pink Floyd,s work Should be in a museum, And I know comfortably numb came from the album another brick in the wall, The song time Makes me very emotional, Can you Dig it.
@@jerrylee2698 I was a little on the young side when they 1st came out so the music's what got me the lyrics worked away Now I'm 69 I get it, Youth is wasted on the young so they say, How can these guys write this kind of music at that age, Universal, Whatever is on the other side after life I hope they have this kind of music. Peace out brother✌❤🖖🤘🤘🤘
I can relate to the line that goes "and then one day you find ten years have gotten behind you. No one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun."
I am 73 years old and still loving it

Sometimes when a certain group of musicians come together something magical happens. Pink Floyd was certainly one of those times.

Yes, I was there but outside listening and Watching the Purple Haze over the Stadium.
I was almost impossible not to get STONED even OUTSIDE.
Loved the Music 🎶 and had some Albums.
Every time I hear this song I know something majestic is happening somewhere out in the universe. It's truly a masterpiece.
More than a only masterpiece. The best in the world

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells
Thanx, sounds great! First time for me was 88. Just incredible music, timeless🙏
Masters of The universe...
Heaven on Earth!
HEAVEN WELL SAID !
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🖤
One of the best notes ever hit in the history of music, I must say.
This was 26 years ago.... Wow... Time is gone..
It's nearly 50 years. '73, right?
p.s just realised you meant the performance not the song itself. Apologies.

Revisited now....
Олег Ципилев siempre me pasa carnal
David Gilmore is a Master on so many levels, also respecting of others
Thank you Pink&Water,highly appreciated😮❤

I remember when I was young listening to this lyrics and now that I'm older I still enjoy them learn a lot from this song
the battle goes on, Waters / Gilmour....that combination is over, just enjoy whats left

This is not just Gilmour, it's Rick, Nick and David.
Daniel LR he’s talking about the different eras
❤
Glad you like it nice to see the younger generation knows what greatness is n it will never die. I got to see m twice n thankful for that
Pink Floyd will always be my favorite band❤️
It’s one of my favorites as well along with Queen
Mines Sabbath
My second favourite band after the mighty Slade. Pink Floyd take you on a melancholy wonderous musical trip which is out of this world. Slade on the other hand, would kick you in the chest and keep kicking you for an hour, no nonsense rock & roll...brilliant! 💖🎩😎

DEEP PURPLE💜
Have listen to Pink Floyd for year- the longer I listen to this group, THE MORE I love them!!!!
Their music just flows so beautifully, and then there are the light show- what can I say-simply MAGIC!!!!
Musical geniuses!!!!
Best band ever Pink Floyd! David Gilmour best guitarist a legend.

The Dark Side Of The Moon 🌒 is a MASTERPIECE ✌️ The Song TIME ⏰ too 💥 GRANDI 💪 PINK FLOYD 🦋 FOREVER 💫 Thanks for sharing 👌💯
Um dos melhores conjuntos do mundo. David Gilmor e realmente um super cantor. Time não precisa nem falar.
98 rock Honolulu! Thanks for playing this as often as you did in the 80’s!
The best live concert of Pink Floyd... Pure Legend ❤️
Greatest lyrics, greatest playing, greatest song of all time.
A few years ago, went to a Pink Floyd exhibition at the V&A with my wife. She wasn’t a fan before, but came away understanding why I was.👌
The Best of the Best ❤
Bought this album when I was 20...
I just turned 70 and still have my vinyl
🤝❤️👍👍👍 It's stunningly beautiful and very mesmerizing! Brings back the best memories of my life! Bravo! 🙏💫
Tells a story like no other lyricist
There are times when I forget that Rick Wright is gone. Hurts a little amongst the other hurts. I know that David Gilmour was especially hurt by his early departure from earth. I am hoping with all I have that one of my grand or great grandchildren will find a way to stop cancer or a vaccination to boost the body’s ability to fight that awful, terrible disease that takes lives too soon. 😎
He was the quiet hero of Pink Floyd.
@Ann McD Roger Waters is an egotistical scumbag. David, Rick and Nick moved on very successfully without his vile personality.
You mean the same David who said in 1979 : “sure Roger, go ahead, fire that lazy coke addict!”. That same David?
@ DJDanceClassic - Surely your jesting sure? 😂
And what is with Sid Barrett?
Time changes everything. Growth of who we are and who we become. With or without the person being here or not. Will not change the situation of good and that the only thing time can't change is the heart. 💕

I am 53 years old, I saw them in concert in 1988. before this date I have them .... but since I am unconditional .. I listen to them at least once a week ...

Thank you mister Guilmour, ✌️❤️
This song never ages. Ironically titled
To jest stary dobry Pink Floyd. Miło się tego słucha.
David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler are easily my two favorite guitar players of all time. David Gilmour is a god
Totally agree with you Terry
vibrational masterpiece, Pulse is my favorite album from them Darkside 2 Wall 3 reason 4, they were sending us a message did you get it?
@@jerrylee2698 I was a little on the young side when they 1st came out so the music's what got me the lyrics worked away Now I'm 69 I get it, Youth is wasted on the young so they say, How can these guys write this kind of music at that age, Universal, Whatever is on the other side after life I hope they have this kind of music. Peace out brother✌❤🖖🤘🤘🤘

Another brick in the wall is a song

Ah Floydia! The world I retreat to when I listen to Pink Floyd. All my troubles and worries disappear. Pure bliss you know...
The words of this song mean more and more the older a smart person gets.
I can relate to the line that goes "and then one day you find ten years have gotten behind you. No one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun."
