- In this video I will show you how to properly program the transponder chip inside your spare key to your Mazda. This method should work for all the years of this generation; 2003-2008. I believe it also works for the Mazda 3.
Everyone else made this so confusing and you made it so simple thank you keyboard working fine
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
I bought a ECM with two key already program to ECM so of course the original key wasn't working , so i give you 👍👍👍 now all 3 keys working
That’s great to hear! Glad I could help
Good work.
Just to clarify for youtube watchers:
In this video, the following steps are to be observed for programming an ignition barrel key:
*** If you have 2 x (or more) Valid Keys, Self-Programming mode is possible ***
1) Have a locksmith cut new transponder-equipped key(s)
2) Using valid key # 1, turn ignition to ON position (do not start).
(a) observe illumination of security light in instrument cluster.
(b) after security light turns off, turn key back to "LOCK" position "WITHIN 2 SECONDS".
(C) remove key from ignition
3) Repeat Step 2, with valid key # 2.
4) Repeat Step 2, with other valid keys - this retrains all valid keys again to the immobilizer computer.
NB: if you exclude one of your extra valid keys (key # 3, # 4... etc) during Step 2, this key may no longer be recognized.
5) Repeat Step 2, with new (non-programmed) key(s).
Note: max of 8 keys can be programmed to the vehicle.
*** If you have only 1 x (or none) Valid Keys, Self-Programming mode is NOT possible ***
1) Have a locksmith (or dealer) cut a new transponder-equipped key(s).
2) The locksmith (or dealer) will then use their Immobilizer/Key Programming device to program your new key(s).
Note: either take vehicle to them, or have them come to you.
ensure the locksmith clears all diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).
NOTE: this procedure is for programming ignition transponder keys, NOT for keyless entry FOBS.
RKE or Keyless central locking FOBS require a different procedure, depending on your model vehicle.

Not working for me :( ... Mazda 3 , 2006 year
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. 2005 Mazda 6. Cheerio.
Glad I could help!
I have the same year and I can’t do it
I need help with mine
It worked for me. Thanks a lot. I've spared ~100€.
THANK YOU! 2007 Mazda 6!
It worked for Mazda 6 2003. Thank you !
Антон Томов glad I could help!
thank you so much yes is the word for my Mazda 3 2008
I have 2 cards for mazda cx 9 from 2008. I have a problem with keyless go. Once it works fine and in a moment I have to start the car with a metal key. The key flashes red while driving. Not when the immo is flashing and I can't start the car. I suspect that it is the keyless module or the fault of one of the antennas. Can I use a forscan to reprogram my cards? Is it safe?
a lock smith shop, independent shop dedicated to keys, quote me 65.
ill probably have to cough it up sooner or later but this will be good ty
ive been watching all the vids on how to program your mazda fob. In each video they do something different. I wonder which is the right way for my car. can i do this with a fob i order online (generic mazda) or do i have to order one from factory?
Just make sure the part numbers are the same. Some of the keys don't have transponder chips. Just make sure it does and it should work
Good video mate! .. i have the 2007 model with the smart card key but i lost the transponder but the i still have the key, do u have any idea if i could reprogram another aftermarket remote instead of the original smart card? it costs about 250$ to buy and program a new OEM one!
I had a 2007 Mazdaspeed 6 and that car also has the smart key (card). When I bought the car it came with one normal spare key and that was it. I had to buy the smart card myself and had it programmed by the dealer. Unfortunately, I do not know how to program the smart key myself. I believe you need certain software that only the dealer has. I could be wrong though.
no i think u r right. i went to the dealer the other day and he told me the same thing. if i bought the card from else where i have to program it at the dealer's.
Now here's the thing if you have a smart key IE: Switch blade, and the flat chip key this is completely different cause you do have a different PATS system. Also if your self programming does not work you will have to take the car to either a Mazda shop or a certified shop. Cause your immobilizer may not be working correctly.
Thank you for the info!!
Wtf i only have 1 key. I bought another to do this. So what are my next options for getting a second key to work thank you by the way for clarifying this answer you save me a lot of time
Unfortunately, I do not know how to do it with only one working key. I’m sorry, I will look and see if I can find info on how to do it with one key. Wish I had the answer

What about if I changed the coil antena do I have to program the key too?
SO I just bought a mazda 3 with one key and NO remote key entry remote. where do I buy one and how can I get a second key to program the way you showed without going to the dealer?
Unfortunately, the method I'm performing requires two working keys already to program a third. I know it doesn't make much sense since the reason people would want to do this is to have an extra key after only having one.
English: It seems you just have to do a couple of times.
Danish: Virker man skal bare gøre et par gang👍
I still remember seeing someone take the transponder chip out of the key, and mount it to the ignition. Then any key cut to fit the ignition will start the car. 😂 _I'm not suggesting people do this haha_
have a mazda mx 5 and no keys. manual input of a 8 digit password code, and two keys, and it was a right pig to do, taken many times . found to have water in the ecu under passengers footwell area.causing the red immo light not to work as should for programming mode.
Do you know if it's a way to change the sensitivity on the factory alarm
That I do not know..I’m sorry
@@The.Car.Guru. thank you for responding
question ? I need a program on the cell phone?
Can you put in one key twice?
Does Mazda6 2004 has cruise control?
Yes
damn shit! that works for my GY 2004 diesel with 3th key. thanks a lot!
Glad I could help!
Does this work with the switch blade style key?
Chris Ayala I would imagine that most transponders work this way..I’m not completely sure though. It’s worth a shot
@@The.Car.Guru. I tried this and it didn't, there's a whole different way, cause we have a smart system.
Not work for my Mazda 3, 2006 year. :( ... Any recommendation ? i have 2 key working fine. but I couldn't program my third key :(.... Buy the key on ali express
Yer try doin it when your everyday key is left in the house and it won't work it's coz the car has recognised the 1st key
Won't work
Do I need to buy anything else or just the remote
Jonathan Sanchez you need two working keys to program another
Need to know how to do it with no extra keys.
are you sure i need 2 keys + the new one?
it only had one when i bought my mazda 6
Yes. You need two keys that already work to program another. I know it's weird because you'd think people would want to do it to have a spare
_Daywalker_ thanks
I have a question brother why the little red car with the key is not going well the car is off and I remove the key
You need two working keys already to program a third key. And then proceed as follows in the video
@@The.Car.Guru. Thank you so much
Можно по русски перевести. Очень полезная информация. На mazda cx7 такой же алгоритм.?
Does it works for 2006 models?
Juan Carrasquillo yes it should work on the 2006 as well.
@@The.Car.Guru. thanks
Can you program a key fob using one transponder key?
I believe you need two keys to begin with.
So i cant program key if i have only 1 working key?
Unfortunately, you cannot. It requires two keys. Doesn’t make sense to me either.
@@The.Car.Guru. im asking because i made problem with installing mazda logo on courtesy lights, that made problem in door lock module and my interior roof lightscdoesnt work on door opening, so i have to switch that module for new one so i get back my interior roof lights when opening door, but when i switch module i will lose lock and unlock program on key (i think), and i have only 1 key..
Mr.Daywalker I need help resetting my car alarm on my 2007 Mazda 6 I do not have the key with the remote control.... It's just a regular key...Heeeeeelp 😭😭😭
Take your key and put it into the key hole on drivers door. Lock then unlock it manually with the key 3 times. That should reset the security system.
Damn, that sucks, I don't have a second pre-programed key. I have two new ones
Yeah I’m not too sure why you have to have two already..kind of defeats the purpose lol
El mio es Mazda 3 2010 y no me funciona lo ago igual
Cut to the chase... 2:17
Блестит как моя , даже муха не еблась)))

Hello My name is oscar

@@koshunter3805 how you gonna drive it with no key!!! I'm having same problem.
@@tmorgan8556 if you have a scanner capable of programming keys, you can pay Mazda (on their website) to buy access to unlock the security system. Other than that, dealer.
@@koshunter3805 yeah cant tow my car to the dealer
I we
The first key you inserted is the one that needs to be programmed - the "key light" is flashing. The second and the third keys are the working keys. I tried your way of programming and it didn't work. I found an way to program a key and I did a video. th-cam.com/video/Q0TBIXYV9Mk/w-d-xo.html
Your video is for a 2007, this video is for a 2004 -- different procedures for those two model years. 2006-2012 procedure is different from pre-2006.
Dudeee a lot of blablabla comonnn fkshhhht
JFC half the video is you running your mouth
Then watch another video genius
@@The.Car.Guru. I did and it was more pertinent and less of a waste of my time.
