Interesting how the horn of the claw forms a sort of timeline for these injuries. Obviously, nothing came from it because of treatment this time, but on other cows that have ulcer problems, it gives a glimpse into the past for the cow's foot. I can't help but be reminded of tree rings.

You do such exceptional work. I wish you were in Kentucky. There aren’t any foot trimmers, or at least any I know that have your skill level. So many cattle are culled that need an expert trim instead. Our soils are soft and cattle don’t have much opportunity to wear down their hooves, which therefore is why they need cleaned up. You have some of the best cattle videos on TH-cam. GREAT WORK! 👏👏

These videos must be enjoyable because it puts us back in touch with our relationships with animals, which occurred over thousands of years. In the span of time, it is only very recently that we have moved away from farms to city, now that agriculture is a specialized industry. I still enjoy watching cattle grazing out in pasture and even miss the hard work on the family farm on which I was raised. Thanks to all you hoof trimmers and farmers for all you do for the dairy and beef industry and for keeping us fed! - from experience I know it's hard work, 24/7, requiring huge investment, and hopefully rewarding for you. And thanks to all the girls who make the milk that lets me enjoy my yogurt as I watch these videos!

I am supposing the healing and growth that occurs subsuquent to the treatment is one of the things that gives folks like the hoof guy hope and determination to keep up the good work?!
At :12 into the video you palpate the front area above the hoof known as the "pastern" as I recall? Some cows have a strong upright foot and ocassionally some will have a weak rocking chair type pastern (usually on the rear feet) that is considered a negative or weakness in body confirmation for purebred or show cattle. (This particular cow appeared to have a strong pastern) A weak pastern is sometimes influenced by genetics and can cause sore feet. The Hoof Guy can correct me if I am wrong here. GREAT video as always, loved the final product! Blessings! S. Carolina

If someone would've told me I would be watching videos of heifers getting pedicures I probably would not hv believed it lol. Yet, I enjoy it very much & imagine how good it must feel to the cows every dang time. ❤

I really like your videos that show the healing process, like this one.
Also, it would be nice to see the cow walking before and after.

I like how I've watched enough of Nate's vids that I could casually eat chocolate while watching his vids all relaxed

It’s lovely to see the cows and the relief you can see them feel as they walk out! It’s nice to know that there are people out here doing this good work. Good on you Nate!

Just found you today. I canceled subscriptions to a few other vets who promise great cysts but only shows less than a couple minutes of the pus drainage. I like that you're able to do so much more with same equipment.
    Keep them coming.
    Thanks

I love cows. I've only had the opportunity to spend time with cows on a few occasions, but they're like big, gentle dogs. They love pets
