70s was so fun,,,I had a v8 Vega, with a 283corvette motor with 2 speed so fun,,,,then I had a 71 Mach 1 with a built up 351 cleaveland,,a 3 speed shift kit around 400 horse horse I had so much fun beating all those shiny 78 cameras with 185 horse,,,,I love going 1 block at a time smoking the tires,,,
I was a kid when V8 vega conversions got popular. Remember the Don Hardy ads in magazines? or the company that made tons of glass body pieces 1 pc tilt front ends...Unlimited products? wish I could find a 1 pc fiberglass tilt front clip for my 67 Camino.
There was no such thing as a Ford Mustang GT back in 1980 as the GT was dropped from the Mustang from 1970 until 1981 and the Mustang GT returned in 1982.
These were the cars of my youth and we raced them every chance we got and I never ever saw any Camaro outrun the Fox Body Mustang. Never. And I was a Camaro owner back then. I hated the 5.0 and secretly loved it. The guys with Camaros would avoid the Mustangs
I had one of those 1984 black silver and red pinstripe. Well I always thought of those cars as a big Vega. I mean a hot rod with a hatchback. That's funny. I like my 67RS. And my 79 Z28 but that big Vega. That was a piece of work even with the 4speed
I would have been annoyed if you hadn't included the Grand National or GNX. Incidentally, in the GNX footage, it showed the GN several times as it talked about the GNX. Incidentally, that (and maybe the ZL1) was the only one that you got the pricing right. The others the price listed seemed to be closer to average condition vehicles.
80 were my teen yrs. Got to drive and own a bunch of those cars, 4 eye Mustang GTs, IROC z, C4 corvettes Id say about 85 guys really started paying attention to them, the hp wars were back!!! Most of us built 60s muscle as they destroyed new cars in power...but this era started to make that tougher. Never woulda guessed one could sign some papers and walk out the dealer in a 500hp 12 sec car with a warranty. Unheard of! We live in a great time, not that long in the future teenagers will be laughing at our "gas dinosaur car era" toys. Watch. Drive these if ya got em what are you saving it for? Most cases there is no next guy they dont want them.
@@pinkflydnt The 403 was a joke cant believe they used that engine .Buddy i HS had one....wow it was a turd wtih a tunnel ram and M21. Pretty turd though!
I really missed my 1990 IROC - Z. My high school car i dropped the car about 2inhes. Had a trans am gta gold rims. Turbo hood with Testarossa rear hatch window and with F40 spoiler. I had a cragger louvers before that painted it red. I had a fire red car with red interior. Tow truck towed from the rear the wind snapped it in half. American thunder exhaust sets every car alarm off😅. I drove it up to 270k smiles😂 I'm an exotic car guy really want to do more at that time I was still young with little money. I wanted a wide body kit. Great memories I burn every tire every year.
Back then, A 350 automatic TPI camaro or C4 with 3.xx series gears could leave a lot of us guys wiht musclecars sitting at a light Those hooked and left a light good....til 30 mph or so, 2nd gear game over haha.
The IROC Camero never looked like a Camero. It was a rust bucket after 5 years. The Camero was a slow Muscle car, except for the Police interceptor, sold to the Indiana State police. They were supercharged and could do 160 m.p.h.. Now, the C5 Corvette was capable of doing 200 m.p.h.. Not 120 m.p.h.. The Corvette was a real Muscle car! The Pontiac Trans AM was just another IROC Camero. JUNK! The Fox Body Ford Mustang was a good Muscle car, but didn't look like a Mustang. It was a rebadge Capri. The Pontiac Feiro had engine problems with the V 6. It blew up!🤣 The Pontiac Grand National was a good Muscle car. Except when the V 6 engine gave out and the turbo wore out.
My buddy had &80 firebird formula with&old school 455 SD under the hoood that was put there by &old school guy who was Goin for a car that looked as fast as any pitchers best fast ball when it leaned back on its back tires with the right road conditions like on the 2 lane state highway outside my old house
This piece completely missed the Doge GLH/ GLH Turbo and GLHS. Fast fun cars. I had an '85 GLH Turbo and would regularly smoke Trans-Ams, up to about 90 mph.
This is so hilarious, tell me this person knows nothing about these cars without actually telling me it. They're lucky if they got one single fact right
The Fiero was never a muscle car. The 80's fox body Mustangs were actually faster in the lower trims, I think it was the LX. That car was faster because it was lighter. The GT was definitely not the fastest Mustang in the mid 80's.

Every drag racing clip is an after-market build car. Not how these sounded or drove.

The 84 Corvette had more than 105 hp
I was thinking 245ish?
Yup, it's only a little off, 😅@@tucoramirez8397
it had 205 hp you didnt want the 1984 because the Crossfire inj engine was junk
Like some one said, it had 205 hp and a top speed of 140 mph not 125 mph.
Also he claimed it was a 1980 Camaro. That gen didn't come out until '82.
These were the cars of my youth and we raced them every chance we got and I never ever saw any Camaro outrun the Fox Body Mustang. Never. And I was a Camaro owner back then. I hated the 5.0 and secretly loved it. The guys with Camaros would avoid the Mustangs

Fast 80s muscle cars??? They were faster 15-20 years prior!!!
Well, he did say the 80s...
There was not a car made in the 80s that was worth bringing back. You must be thinking about the 60s.
Most '80's cars were junk.
The producers and I have VERY different recollections of how ‘fast’ the cars of the 80’s were.
The 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am did not come with a Turbo 4.9 Liter V8.
you're right; the 1979 TA had the 6.6 Litre 403 Olds V8. It was in 1980 when the 4.9 Litre Turbo 301 V8 was on the scene.
He clearly says it a 1980 at least twice. It came out in 79
@@pinkflydnt The 403 was a joke cant believe they used that engine .Buddy i HS had one....wow it was a turd wtih a tunnel ram and M21. Pretty turd though!
Ya I think it was the 80 formula firebird
No 1989 20th Anniversary Trans Am? Also, when talking about the Corvette ZR-1, it showed the regular Corvette L98.
Because that guy is a 🤡
YES the 89 Trans Am anniversary had the same V6 as Gran National but Faster cuz More aerodynamic n lighter

These "appear to launch" in the 80's like they could run with my LS swapped 500 HP 83 Camaro, don't think so. Still, GREAT cars.

Corvette with 105 hp? It was some export version for Somalia?
They were lightweight people. Super skinny with basketball guts.
They could run like a mofo though! Just a guess idk.

No Mention of the 83 1/2 to 87 Monte SS hmmm

That's a lot of bulls^%!
a stock 2000 Toyota Corolla with a 5 speed stick would dust the the I.R,O.C Z28 Camaros. while getting 33 mpg.
What the hell is a turbo five 6 engine😂😂😂
What, No Thunderbird Turbo Coupe ?
My god were half of the pics you were showing even close to the actual car you were talking about??!! FAIL.

This video is full of errors, cant even finish it.
Sarcasm?
I didn't realize how awful cars were in the 80s. I don't think ANYONE wants those mustangs back
Youre funny
80', muscle cars, fast? Horse hockey! Total contradiction. What a joke!
This list is a little off
There was not a car made in the 80s that was worth bringing back. You must be thinking about the 60s.
I have a Jeep Cherokee with a 3.2 L V6 it has 271 hp that would blow every one of those cars from the 80s away
