There are a few "fake" ones copying the idea. The ones made out of cast iron are best to be avoided, though. Heuer even mentioned the clones in a later patent application.
The company is still in Kramatorsk though they don’t make that sort of thing anymore - mostly they make big mining and steel making equipment not small tools.
Just because the Vice does not gave a manufacturer’s name on it, does not mean it is a Fake. There are many companies that produce copies of a design and provided they do not attempt to use misleading material regarding the product. No deception can be enjoined.
@@RestorationNext I did not state a dislike, other than the title of the piece. That the item was copied was a tribute to the original. However, the defects in the castings made themselves apparent as is the case with many copies. With this Soviet copy, the final result was not critical to its operation. The best example of a critical flaw in a copy would be of a +Wolfber+t Viking sword. There are examples of this that have the inlay of +Wolfbert+ . In these swords, there is a greater amount of slag in the steel which could cause the “ fake “ to bend or break during use. Also that the name on the piece is such that it would seem to be deceiving one to believe it is the genuine one. That is not the case as the name of the manufacturer is clearly not that of the original vise manufacturer. It was not an attempt to deceive, as is the case with “Fakes”.
En el mundo comunista, y aun hoy en China, era usual el proceso de "ingeniería inversa", o sea, copiar objetos hechos en occidente, para hacer su "propia versión". De eso no hay evasión, excusa o eufemismo.
@@22763344 Si. Yes, in the former Communist block countries, they did indeed reverse engineer successful products from the rest of the world. As did other countries for various products. It did not meant that the quality was that of the original in this case, the quality of the steel in the casting was less than the original manufacturer. Which is why there was a broken section on the edge of the slide. And other less critical locations. However they did not put the original manufacturer’s name on it. So while a copy, not an intentional fake.
Jeez that's as rough as guts. 07:40 It's even worse than some bad Chinese castings. Well, you managed to turn a pig's ear into a silk purse on looks alone. Well done. It's just that annoying, but important detail, that it's not what appears to be. Cheers.
What the fuck is with every single restoration channel with no talking just silence who likes that I can’t stand it I wanna watch these amazing tools be restored but just with no talking no nothing I don’t understand you people who like this

Beautiful job buddy 👍
It`s a work of art mate.
Thank you, mate :)
Well done! But it's not a fake, it's a copy with logo of soviet plant НКМЗ.
Yea….thats kinda the definition of fake
@@mikek4610 No. It would be fake if it had the Heuer logo. It's just a (poor) copy, but probably worked well enough.
Great job as always 🤘🏼
Novokramatorsky Mashynobudivny Zavod, or NKMZ. Ukrainian. Wow, that casting was rough!
А может Нижнекамский механический завод НКМЗ?Россия.Вернее СССР, Как и в случае с Новокраматорским.

I like it . I will wait new videos
You didn't replace the bearings tho...
I've lost that footage 🤦
В целом весьма неплохо!👍
Насчёт копии, СССР почти все честно или не очень копировали у развитых стран! От детских игрушек до станко и машиностроения!
Great video 👍👍👍

Had it been the original, it would be much more rewarding. Products of good quality are worth the effort.
Absolutely
