This rusty vise was a real challenge! I disassembled it with hammers, after that i restored all of the metal parts and gave them a nice new painting. I also made a new handle on the lathe! After reassembling this vise works perfectly fine again!

Yeah it’s pretty smart and easy to handle! But it’s not the best for bigger parts, as the operating dimensions are limited.
      Thanks! ❤️

I love when somebody could take the high-quality items of yesterday that have been extremely neglected and refurbish them to store quality condition they deserve it and it takes a certain type of person to do this.

I'm done grinding the cast marks and I covered the rest with putty, I sanded it down to make it smooth... it's ready for painting now. But mine is in much better shape than yours. I'm speechless... Great job btw!

Nice job and appreciate your work
9:00 When you mill the vise to get a perfect surface, you should mill the base circle first in order to get a perfect reference base. Otherwise, even you make a perfect surface on the upper part, when you put the vise on the bench, these milled surface will be slanted.

@@misterpatina you're a really nice guy man , don't have a clue about any of this , but I can see you are dedicated, open to compliments and criticism, and that's how you should run a workshop and TH-cam channel. Well done man

I have to say, what is the point of putting “acetone” in 3 languages on a can when all of them are only different by one or two characters lol.
In all seriousness, beautiful work. I love watching you and My Mechanics do your magic on old neglected pieces.

I love how restoration/cleaning channels universally agree that dark brown liquified anything is "yummy" and that subtitles must occasionally include things that are on the same wavelength as **happy noises**

I would probably never do this myself as it seems like too much work for something I have no passion in…that aside, I’m not sure why but I throughly enjoyed this video and couldn’t look away.

I had a horrible feeling you were going to come to grief getting those bolts out. I cringed when the Easy Out broke, just to add salt to the wound. I've had similar instances happen to me. Very nice restoration after those early setbacks. The soft jaws are a great idea.
