My name is Jim Gentry and I played guitar on his solo album just before he passed. We had just started rehearsing for the expected support tour when he first took ill. His death was just crushing. I am thankful he heard the finished album in its entirety - what a joy it would have been to perform it live with him. RIP my brother. Love to Cindy. JG

I am greatfull having seen Robby play with Kansas in The Netherlands twice last time was at Arrow Rock festival june 11, 2005 the band was on fire the crowd went crazy how good they still were. We were upfront and i still remember Robby looking triumphantly into the +25.000 crowd halfway the show when he said.... Who says a 60+ year old of age can't rock...?? He was happy on stage, after being out of the band for a while already, and i still remember that face with a constant big smile a true frontman and entertainer a of a fantastic band. Rest in peace Robby, you will live on through the music of Kansas always!

I was around 7 or 8 when I got my first Kansas album. I was a lonely abused little kid back then. I remember listening to that album on my little phonograph player set at 33rpm over and over again. Looking back today, it helped me cope. RIP sir.

Prince Magumba-your comment reduced me to tears. I was an abused, unwanted child whose mother destroyed my innocence. I started playing classical keyboards at 8, and picked up the violin & several other instruments afterwards. Singing, writing, playing saved my life as a child & throughout all of life's trials & tribulations. Ironically, I was in Tampa General Hospital Saturday morning for 3 days in total, after my bp dropped dangerously low in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. I have inherited heart disease & Cancers. May Robby RIP & serenade the angels. Our musical loss is their gain.

I saw Kansas in 1998 at a small budget outdoor show in my home town. There probably weren’t 1000 people at the show. More like about 500. Kansas played like they were at Madison Square Garden! True professionals!! After the show Robby came out and signed autographs and talked to all of us hard core Kansas fans for at least an hour. I remember thinking what a truly genuine guy this is! Super nice guy. So sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family and friends 😎

Robby's violin is what really pulled me to Kansas. He is still very much with the band today. At a recent Kansas concert they did bring him up and stated his passing.

Robby Steinhardt was a true musician that was a master of his craft. It is hard to find this depth of talent today. Too many are relying on sampling etc... Music is dying. We need a resurgence where musicians are at the center, writing, recording and performing live. Not some homogenized production where everything sounds the same.

From Topeka, followed them since they (& I) were @ Topeka West H.S.
I might be wrong, but I never knew them as anything else but "White Clover" till they got a record deal. They were always good & packed places everywhere they played.
    Nice tribute, sad days.

According to Livren's book Seeds of Change Kansas was formed as 'local Super group comprised of members of White Clover (Ehart and Hope) and Saratoga (Livren). After a year the White Clover members split and reverted to their original name. The Saratoga members continued on as Kansas. A couple of years later, Ehart invited Livren to rejoin and White Clover co-opted the name Kansas and the rest is history.

Love Kansas! As a kid in the 70's I literally worshipped the ground they walked on after my first listen of their third (vinyl) album rease, "Masque". I was 13 at the time. Since then I've seen them four times, all late 70's and one in the ear;ly 80's during the peak of their sold out arena tours era. The last time, in the early 80's a used connections to not only get front-row tickets, but a backstage pass for after the show. I was finally able to meet and talk to the band members backstage after the concert. Sadly, Steve Walsh had gone solo the year before, so it was the five remaining oriiginal members, and John Elefante (Walsh's replacement) that I was able to meet. I actually told them I was certain I was their biggest fan. Something I'm sure they'd never heard before. They were all super chill and approachable, especially Dave Hope. What a memory! That said, the narrator of this video needs to brush up on his Kansas pronunciation... like calling Leftoverture, "Leftov-e-toor"??? And, "drummer, Phil A-hartd". Come on man! This is Kansas and you're Grunge Mag!!!

God rest his wonderful musical soul.... His stage presence and voice, the violin, and the way he complimented Steve Walsh will never be matched... I feel like we have lost a family member.... I feel a little more like some dear was lost.

Oh no, this is how my father died in May 2021. Sepsis came on hard, he made a miraculous recovery, then 6 weeks later it came back and ultimately ended his life. I've admired and looked up to Robby Steinhardt's musicianship & voice since receiving Leftoverture for Christmas in 1976 when I was 9 and I've been a Kansas fan ever since. May God bless you Robby, and may He watch over your loved ones. Rest in peace, sir.

Robby’s violin was an extension of his soul which can be heard on every album he payed the violin. Why this well made video does not have millions of views by now goes to show how broken TH-cam’s algorithms are.
RIP Robby. We all L❤️VE you.
