Mr. Brian May is a member of the generation which was unfortunately the last one!
He is the clever, intelligent, skilled, tallented and positive person. He is a member of dying species. And these are eople who represent the values of the European culture and civilisation.

It's the perfect song for Brian May because his PhD thesis was about interplanetary dust! As of this writing, Dr. Brian May is 74 years old, and he's the kindest and most soft spoken person I have ever seen and heard among the vast sea of well-known celebrities. What an amazing person!

Could not agree more. A celebrated guitarist from one of the UK's (many) great rock bands, then just adds on a physics PhD, and uni chancellorship for good measure. That's versatile.

I kind of felt like this, for Brian, would be like playing a basic, boring bit.. but he respected the original melody and only put a bit of "lace" on it toward the end.. just love him so much..

Brian is a superlative guitarist, and Queen is one of the most versatile, prolific bands of all time with an incredible body of work. It's icing on the cake that Brian is such a genius (and obviously a hard worker), yet remains a humble gentleman.

Of course it makes sense to play this song because the song Another One Bites The Dust has the same word. The Queen song with Dust is Angel Dust, which is getting high on drugs especially the drug Angel Dust and there is even a backmasking subliminal message I wanna smoke marijuana, not about gangsters, guns, or a boxer being knocked out. The song Dust In The Wind also about getting high on drugs especially Angel Dust. So it makes sense for Brian May to play this song.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Brian so many times, especially in the 70s when I fanatically followed Queen around. All four were kind and charming with us; but Brian was exceptionally so. Lovely, lovely man. Miss those fun days - please build me a time machine!

Beautiful arrangement of a magnificent song. May was a huge Kansas fan, and I encourage anyone who doesn't know much about Kansas to really dig into their discography. Their body of work is phenomenal and their musicianship is so underrated and undervalued by mainstream record critics, it is a crying shame, they never got the respect they deserved. And as someone who has seen them 18 times in concert, I can vouch for those as honest words. You will not be disappointed.

I discovered Kansas just over 4 decades ago when I was in my mid-teens. Hardly anyone had heard of them here in England (my school friends never really got them at all) and Kansas rarely toured here, so they are one of the few great rock bands that I never got to see play live. All of those 1970s Kansas albums have stood the test of time really well.

Brian may's guitar technique level is much higher then Jimmy's - all the notes a clear and performed perfectly in tempo. Also he do a classic violin vibratto - it's a sign of the professional guitarist. All the live performances by Jimmy Page are too dirty and not synced perfectly with the drums - I can't stand led zeppelin live, it's too much pain for my ears. However Page is a one of the greatest in terms of arrangement and composition.

Here's the crazy part about this whole thing. That guitar? Most people would see this and think it's a Martin due to the headstock shape & color. It's not. It's actually an old Tokai Humming Bird worth maybe $3-400 in anyone else's hands. That's Brian's #1 acoustic guitar and has been for a long time from what I understand.

Remember exactly when and were I was when that song came out over the radio, riding in my automobile in 1978. Though true, we are made from the dust of the Earth, we are more than dust, we are also spirit, soul, which is the part that lives on, after the dust (so to speak) has settled back to Earth!

Brian May is such a true gentlemen .. what a a joy to hear him play this legendary tune with two excellent fellow musicians. A great singer, by the way. And how does Brian May manage to always sound like himself through an array of vox amps, even when playing acoustic? Mysterious... ;-)

The way he almost understates the guitar is wonderful. When i try to play this I find it is typical to really emphasize the beat. That is also the kindest comparison I can make of myself to a guitar god. Brian May is superb.

@@gospeltruthtv Wow! Would love to meet any member of Kansas, past or present! My two favourite bands, Queen then Kansas! I’m a major collector of Kansas’ music, and probably one of the biggest ‘Wheathead’ in the UK!

    • @gospeltruthtv
      @gospeltruthtv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@martinkulkarni3569 That’s cool! When Kansas hit it big with Leftoverture & Point, they did a UK tour as a headlining act. When they played Birmingham, the members of Queen booked a pub & threw them a private party. Funny story from the Kansas/Queen tour…Queen liked Kansas so much, they let them do an encore, something that was uncommon for an opening act. Of course, Kansas knew the set Queen was playing. Just for fun, they worked up Queen’s opening song & performed it as an encore. They did have quite a sense of humor!

There is so very much to admire, respect and love about Dr. May. More than anything, he wants to be remembered for his advocacy for our fellow animals. His membership in one of history's best bands, earning a PhD in a very rigorous subject, or having a star named after him, mean less to him. All animals lovers are my kind of humans.
