Got the ult wear today and loving it. I still remember how angry i was when I got the beats solo 3 due to its sound leakage and how uncomfortable it is-putting lots of pressure on ears is just a stupid design.
I had the anc2 before i bought the ult wear. In summary, the Skullcandy have more bass. More head pounding bass. They honestly don't sound very good overall but they pound your head hard. The sony on the other hand have cleaner bass. The bass is deep, subwoofer like but no rattling. The Sony sound very good overall with nice mids, highs etc. I use my ults with with clear bass 7 , ult 1 , ldac and find my EQ. Phenomenal sound. Better in my opinion than the xm4. For ANC Sony wins. The anc on anc2 is a joke
I have all of these and the beats solo 4 sound the best for vocals and they are the loudest. If you are just looking for bass don't get them. In my opinion they sound the best and you can grab Apple care for peace of mind. You can carry the solos in your pocket when folded
also almost nobody wears headphones these days but if u want them for some reason get the beats solo 4s.... unless u listen to rap or something. I didn't find either of the beats to be uncomfortable and use them both for hours straight but my head isn't big like dude. The solo 4s cover my ears and stay in place without issue and super loud.
I like my headphones to last, and the Beats are built like crap, so no. Plus, I found them to be very uncomfortable since they don't swivel and seal poorly. I wouldn't recommend Beats to anyone looking for a long-lasting product. Also I did listen to the Beats in a store just for the sake of it and the treble hurt my ears. They made these things WAAAYY too bright, and the soundstage feels closed in. It doesn't matter how loud it goes if it doesn't sound good. And with the ULT Wear being cheaper than both options, it offers MUCH more bang for the buck.
