      @@dsanti4069 The way I'm going to word it when I get married is that the prenup will make it so distasteful for us to get a divorce that you'd rather kill me than go through that process. I see it as a means to keep us together and to force us to work through our problems instead of just giving up like most of the U.S. does. You see she wasn't even considering divorce right?

That's wisdom. It's foolish to think that in a lifetime of living with another human being, severe conflict won't make a person think about leaving. U.S. law currently makes that decision very palatable for women.

      How can you know he is belittling her? More than likely, it is just a problem that she works with him. Lots of people in relationships like to complain about work to their spouse, even if they like their jobs. It just doesn't work out when your spouse is also your boss.
      She clearly demonstrated that he pays all the bills and gave her a job making 50k/yr, she just needs to get a different job. It is good that he got a prenup because she probably would of already left him if it means she can get 50% of his net worth.

The issue is after the prenup they are not working together in a team and he is still holding back from her. He may take care of her and provide for her physical needs but is obviously doing a very poor job of providing for her emotionally.

      This is why you don't just listen to one side of the story in court, she could very easily be omitting information or framing it in a way that makes her look better / get support. She probably just needs a therapist and to find a new job. The guy is supposed to be her boss, her husband, her therapist in this scenario. She is putting too much on him IMO and just needs to separate work life and her relationship.

      Alright Abe, let's look at this rationally. If she wants to have kids in her mid thirties, she needs to get pregnant yesterday. The older a woman gets, the harder it is to conceive, and the more likely she is to have birthing complications. Second, if she wanted to build wealth for herself, she could have done that by staying single and working for her own wealth building. As soon as you get married, it is no longer just about you. It is about the family. Considering she married a wealthy older man, she doesn't need to work a job that pays $50k, especially if she wants to have children. They're well off as is. I know I would have loved having my mother home more often than staying at daycare for all the school days when I was young

      @@aaronqueen55 True, but many women these days have just as many, if not more, assets than the men they marry. I hear many women tout prenups and I personally know two couples who went through divorce and the woman is paying alimony to the man in each of those cases.
      I don’t think that women initiating divorces automatically translates to the women wanting/getting half of what their husbands have. And honestly, if they built it together then of course she would be entitled to half.
      If I had it my way, divorce would not be legal at all except in cases of proven domestic abuse or adultery.

      @@thrillmonkey women paying alimony is statistically rare. But if they built together she should get something fair even if she was a housewife. & I'm currently a cs alimony payor. The state legislatures, the court & her attorney which you pay for will see to that she gets a fair deal.
      In this case a prenup is warranted. She came in while relatively little. But if the prenup is a she gets nothing deal, it will be thrown out

He is lucky he has a prenup because it sounds like she wants half the money to be rich without doing the work to get rich.

    I agree with the lady who said it was not Biblical advice. To go and get a job somewhere out of spite to your husband is not right. And to only submit to things you like is no submission at all. That lady should have gone to a Priest with her husband about the baby situation.

    I lived her life for 30 years. Get out now. I was told if I was good enough I could have more children. It NEVER happened. I’m sorry for you but it’s a sad life.
