I see it as a means to keep us together and to force us to work through our problems instead of just giving up like most of the U.S. does. You see she wasn't even considering divorce right?

@@juanmartinez1337 It's not thinking about divorce as an option. It's thinking about doing everything you can to ensure the only choice you have when things get tough is to stay together. That's wisdom. It's foolish to think that in a lifetime of living with another human being, severe conflict won't make a person think about leaving. U.S. law currently makes that decision very palatable for women.
She married a guy 20 years older. Something tells me she married for the money and now regrets signing a prenup. More to this story than just the wife's side.

She’s thinking about leaving him, that’s why she’s having buyers remorse about signing the pre-nup. If she was ONLY concerned about leaving she wouldn’t mention the pre-nup, she would just leave.
She mentioned the prenup because he holds his money over her head to control her. He doesn’t even pay her properly for the work he does at HIS companies nor does he value her opinion at home. Top that off with him telling her she needs mental help. That’s abuse!

@@elizabethtimothy4776 I believe everyone should get a prenup even if you are poor, I recently got married and with a prenup but I sleep well knowing that I have a trusting wife but if anything where to happen she won’t be able to take my investments, paid off house, or military pension. This is very important considering that I’m 20 so our wealth should grow overtime but it will be safe !

The issue is after the prenup they are not working together in a team and he is still holding back from her. He may take care of her and provide for her physical needs but is obviously doing a very poor job of providing for her emotionally.

This is why you don't just listen to one side of the story in court, she could very easily be omitting information or framing it in a way that makes her look better / get support. She probably just needs a therapist and to find a new job. The guy is supposed to be her boss, her husband, her therapist in this scenario. I love the comment sections of this TH-cam channel. Ramsey’s financial advice is perfect for staying out of debt and building wealth conservatively. His relationship advice, especially the other guy, is usually terrible. They always side with the woman.

Alright Abe, let's look at this rationally. If she wants to have kids in her mid thirties, she needs to get pregnant yesterday. The older a woman gets, the harder it is to conceive, and the more likely she is to have birthing complications. Second, if she wanted to build wealth for herself, she could have done that by staying single and working for her own wealth building. As soon as you get married, it is no longer just about you. It is about the family. Considering she married a wealthy older man, she doesn't need to work a job that pays $50k, especially if she wants to have children. They're well off as is. I know I would have loved having my mother home more often than staying at daycare for all the school days when I was young

I don’t think that women initiating divorces automatically translates to the women wanting/getting half of what their husbands have. And honestly, if they built it together then of course she would be entitled to half.
If I had it my way, divorce would not be legal at all except in cases of proven domestic abuse or adultery.
