    So the question becomes... why doesn't everybody want to sprint...
    Short answer...
    Well my guess is that we are in a nation of office workers, who sit down a lot, and it's a supply and demand issue... may be solved with a standing desk, who knows...
    Plus, sitting could be seen as the new smoking...
    (If I was to cynical, I could say that sprinting increases testosterone which has multiple mental health and physical benefits... but ultimately allowing the individual to become more empowered... the very thing some people don't want you to be... if I was cynical...)
    Great video... good cliffhanger... thanks for posting ;-)

      My guess as to why people don't want to sprint is because:
      1.) A lot of people hate running, they find it exhausting, too hard. It's easier to half ass your workout in the gym. Sprinting is by definition to run at your maximal velocity. It makes you dizzy, sick, your heart is racing, your whole body is burning and you might puke. In the gym if you do less than 10 reps you won't even feel fatigue. So load up the bench, do some ego lifting and you're done.
      2.) It's not a popular sport. People don't know anything about it. As far as they're concerned, sprinting is running and running makes you skinny. All they want is big muscles and to be fair, weight training is a faster way to achieve muscle hypertrophy.

    I guess treadmills aren't general for speed? Though, I love running and abhor treadmills, but I can see how some folks in bad neighborhoods would benefit. I look forward to the continuation.
    P.S. I'm surprised there was no "Spectrum" clip when spoken. Haha.

    I've got a question that's been on my mind, how does someone develop fast twitch muscles for speed/sprinting specifically?

    Great video.
    -When do you know you are untrained to actually trained haha
    -As to your question about why more people don't do sprint training, one thing in my experience is that the general population has all sorts of ailments that limits their ability to effectively do some basic level of sprint training. I'm not sure; it's one small element but I find it to be true when you consider how general strength gym equipment is probably safer (easier) to use...

  • @ahmedhesham9976

    I guess there is a limit to how much faster you could become. If you're not running sub 11 in the first place, then there is no way you're going to become a top-level sprinter. No matter how much you train, talent and remaining injury free are the most important factors.

      @Abdul Sabit Ariff sprinting as a skill can be indeed improved, but there is almost no chance you will ever go Pro if you are not already running a Sub 11 easily,

    • @ahmedhesham9976
      @ahmedhesham9976 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AbdulSabitAriff Listen man training will of course make you better, but it will not make you the best. You can train as much as you want, with the best equipment and the best couches, and the smartest approach but guess what, a more talented sprinter will do the same. He was already faster to begin with so you can never catch up. People are limited genetically and each one has a ceiling. If you want to be the best, then find a sport or an activity you are talented in. Otherwise enjoy being a subpar sprinter.

    • @SteelShirt99
      @SteelShirt99 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Abdul Sabit Ariff Okay lets just go with hard evidence at Hand, which Sprinter do you know who has made it that ran 12sec 100m in their teenager developlment years ? Usain Bolt ran a sub 20 or a 20 flat 200m with zero training. Sprinting is an event that is heavily influenced by genetics, the technical skill level is not that high compared to a sport like badminton or basketball and such.

  • @charstringetje
    @charstringetje ปีที่แล้ว +3

    General public wants hypertrophy, or in bro science, gainz. With a zed. Sprint training makes you stronger, faster, not bigger per se. Or more precisely, it's not the most efficient training for making you big.
    When I tell general public people that running long slow distance will help their muscular definition, they laugh. They think that doing low intensity 2 hour cardio in the weekend will make them look like Elliott Kipchoge. They don't want to look like a Kenyan, they want their muscles to pop... But they fail to see how the muscle that Elliott and Mo do have, are more defined than the Oxford dictionary definition of definition. It's just counterproductive for them to build that much muscle... Hauling all that water with you for 10 to 42k, you don't win Olympic medals with that..

    Strength training makes you slower in general. You increase muscle size/strength which you then train and activate with sprint training. At least that's how I see it.
    What do you consider to be speed equipment? Standing hip extension machines?

    • @TopGap415
      @TopGap415 ปีที่แล้ว

      they say lift to prevent injury but their def movements that can help increase your vertical jump. Maybe lifting explosivly but I seen sprinters lift after sprinting as a cooldown rlly

    Beyond treadmills and tracks, what speed equipment is there?

    • @WardenCommander.
      @WardenCommander. ปีที่แล้ว +4

      "Traditional" treadmills are not designed for speed. There are specific tradmills designed for speed. They are curved on their upper side, they have no electronic control panel as the surface cycles manually based on your pacing; and finally as a result of the control panel not exisiting at the front of the treadmill, there is free space to lift your knees and hips high in order to achieve sprinting mechanics. I did my best to describe it, but a simple internet search will make it much more clear to you.
      The point is, this kind of speed equipment could really be of use to both Sprinters who can't access a track due to weather or other conditions, and to the general population who might want to practice sprinting. However, very few gyms have this equipment and those who do, have very few ones compared to traditional treadmills.

    • @taekonjudo
      @taekonjudo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @pelordin3005 you mean a curve treadmill. I've used these before for sprinting myself, and I thought they were becoming pretty commonplace in a lot of gyms, but maybe I'm wrong on that point.

      But we are sprinting in school since kids. I think coaching is really very important.
