Nice one Essop! It’s actually spring here in Australia, so nice timing! At 61, I run the 300 hurdles (just 7 at 30 inches, or .762cm). When coming up to the first hurdle each time I race, I get a little scared and think ‘why the hell did I sign up for this!?”, but then I jump it and remember how much fun it is - closest thing to being a kid again and bounding over the neighbour’s hedges! So time to dust off the two hurdles I’ve got tucked in the garage and start those mobility drills and hops! Thanks Essop.
Brilliant video! Editing skills have improved so much!!! Amazing! But please no Hurdle bounds haha. Can't wait for some kinda creepy phycology video about hurdles.
Maybe it's just me, but the framerate on this is really low to the point the scenes start looking a little choppy. Info is still top notch as always though.
Any comment on 8. Wearing weight.? I see these cross fit people running with weighted vests. And I carry a clean set of clothing a rain jacket in my backpack and some water in front, when I run to my family in my hometown. That's not an amount of weight that will get me on Netflix with a Reebok sponsorship any time soon, but I did notice that the distribution of even that little weight will influence how the run feels. And I find myself carrying a liter of water for balance, even though in cool fall weather like this, I will probably just take a few sips.
Hmm. I think you make a great point as putting weight through something when you've perfected a movement often helps. However it's kind and nice to write a positive comment about what he HAS spoken about in this video before asking questions. Just a heads up if you actually want an answer to questions.
I just put it out there as it seems straight forward, but I suspect it isn't in plyometric movements. Much like how Essop made me see the Rocky movies in a much less straightforward way. PS I hope you didn't advice for something nice because my comment sounded like "yeah, but" criticism. It wasn't meant like that at all. His videos always make me think and rethink my own experiences. And with thinking come questions. :)
That's a great point I think probably weight in plyo might be different. I think I see people being pretty demanding in these comments lol. And I got slightly annoyed it doesn't address the content itself. But you're right his Rocky content is next level insight!
@@itssyko4778 Having read the rest of the comments, I see where your irritation was coming from... But there's a spectrum here 🎶Houmph🎵: From imperative tense, which could be perceived as ungrateful intitlement (but also as positive encouragement for more: like the hyenas in the Lion King when the name Mufasa sends shivers down their spine... Do it again!... Mufasa, Mufasa, Mufasa) to a question the content enticed. I'm looking forward to the continuation on the hurdles. My guess is, perception is key there too. And perception is neural (and biochemical). ☺
Haha that's brilliant analysis tbf. I can understand where you coming from in that regard. By the way your use of lion king quotes and the spectrum reference to make your point is superior!!!! Me too and great point! Really looking forward to the next video and as you said perception! I think for me, my mental state when going into these is the biggest stopper.
Thanks for the video, but in my sprint training it feels as if i sprint better when i train less, i rarely train at all and when i do it makes me feel sore on one side of my body what does this mean.
One side of your body is probably much stronger than the other side or more dominant, so your body subconsciously uses it more that the weaker side making it sore. Work on single leg plyometrics and strength training to get rid of the imbalance.
I fully agree with the person above me. also, train more often, when you don’t train much your body gets more sore because it’s a bigger adjustment, when you do it more often your body gets more used to it and not as sore. And make sure you’re doing an extensive dynamic warmup before running and you’re stretching and rolling out afterwards
How about you put a positive comment about great content instead of negativity. You come off as picky and ungrateful. If you leave a comment positively, it leaves you the space to ask a polite question. Rather than coming across pretty badly tbh

I completely agree with you haha! Get leaping and suddenly it's back to childhood haha
One of your best ones, yet, Essop!

Did you make a "Bend" video as part of the Fundamentals series?
Any comment on

Who's the guy in the clip doing single leg hurdle bounds? Looks impressive af.
Linford christie
@@cwhiting I thought it looked like him. It was either him or ben johnson.
@@wss33 I think the half a foot height diff makes them easy to separate.....

Make a video on importance of upper body strength in sprinting
I get you want a request but maybe comment on the content he HAS created and then ASK rather than DEMAND a video. It's polite.
@@itssyko4778 are you his janitor or what ?
No I'm a polite longterm fan who has had questions answered because I'm a polite and complimentary person. Ever thought you get more with being nice?
Just a polite heads up dude. I mean if you want to come across as demanding then all good. But you might not get results.
Why do you upload videos in 10 fps
I don’t. I upload in 30 FPS.
