I loved these games just because of how much there was to do in them, all The choices and weapons and heroic adventures. To my thirteen year old brain, this shit was better than Skyrim.

Yes i remember playing skyrim and constantly thinking about how much of a downgrade skyrim was compared to fable.
To be fair I still think Fable games are better than Skyrim.
Just a totally different vibe and everything, so not super comparable anyway imo.
Also imagine how much better and more content there were if Fable (basically any part, doesn't matter that much imo) had mod support like Skyrim.
Skyrim on its original release date was a better game than Fable. At this point in time all these years after release, I think Fable blows Skyrim out of the water
I remember playing this game at a very young age not knowing what the hell to do or where to go but I loved killing people for fun with the fireball power, this game holds such a special place in my heart and I will continue to play this game for many years!
I remember having nightmares from the tutorials from the fable games, and also having nightmares from the Hobbs in this game😂

I tried to turn evil cuz I looked cool but realized quickly my child brain wasn’t good at planning an escape so I’d just get myself cornered and have a bad time 😂

I think Kingdoms of Amalur is going in a similar direction, at least with the art style, combat and world building.
Although it is a lot more serious, so not really the same vibe. I mean, Fable games are actually also very dark if you think about most of the lore and world but it always ties in with a lot of goofyness and (dark) humor, making it indeed very special.
Fable II was and still is my favorite game. The unique atmosphere, the appealing locations and distinct British humor are a perfect combination. I'll never tire of enjoying it.
iirc, that chest in the ruined Heroes Guild is for special DLC that only came in the Limited Edition of Fable 2, which gave the player Fable-ized Halo Mjolnir armor. In the later, open-access DLC, they added the Assault Rifle and Plasma sword to use!

@@Fizhy fun anecdote, I managed to get the Halo DLC card for free, cuz the Blockbuster I worked at had a copy of the Limited Editon, with the card still inside, unused. I just pocketed the card and took it home lol. 250$usd on amazon at the time for an unopened copy fo the LE game. still holding similar prices today it seems.

The chest in the guild of heroes room has master chief armor and energy sword I had data synced to my account for years and I still have that armor It’s crazy it’s not available to everyone.

Fable 2 is one of my all time favorite games oh how much joy this game brought me as a child
I remember this game had a little cheat were you could rent out a property to someone, then set your console's internal clock to later date. Because your earn money on rent in real time, you would come back to thousands of dollars.

Halo 3, Gears 1 and 2, and Fable 2 were the first games I owned on Xbox 360 before I even had Live. They were simpler times....
I love this game because it's my childhood I just completed it recently, I love the quest, cross dressing, the characters, the combat and it's weapons

I think for alot of people reading the comments this was a similar thing something we were looking for the morality system the open world the way your character changes , this game will always have a special place for me and have heavy nostalgia for
straight up one of my favourite games of all time still play it from time to time I really wish it along with Fable 3 would get brought to PC

watching by yourself how world is changing from your choices is 10/10, fable 3 is trying to do a same thing but they failed to do it good, while in this game......just play it, realy, just play it, its one of a kind game that deserve remake more than any other game out there

There's a reason people argue whether Fable TLC or Fable 2 is the best one. Personall I'm more of a TLC guy but 2 is still very solid.

Fable 2 remains to be the best in the series.
Now this may be a hot take, but 3 is far better than the first game in every aspect.
And it disappoints me that they simp for the first game as hard as they do, as it's the only one on steam.

Fable 1 & 2 were great and Fable 3 was ok, but deviated from the graphic/art style and had a bit of a anti climactic story and a few counter intuitive choices like the menu and levelling, weaponry and so on
