I’ve been struggling with making refinements on selections with this new tool. But your clear, concise walkthrough addressed all the issues I've been wrestling with. Thank you SO much!
Thank you for another amazing video. If only other tutors could do it the way you do: clear, concise, simple, and to the point. You make so so much easier to apply what Iearn in your videos. Thank you, Thank you!!!!
Very good video, thank you very much. I would like to correct one small point: the bokeh shapes are only about the lenses, not the cameras. The shape with the dark spot in the middle is not from a single reflex camera, but from a mirror lens.
@@photoshopcafeNo, as in a mirror lens-or catadioptric lens. This is just one type of lens architecture, generally used for cheap, physically short, telephoto lenses. Out of focus highlights rendering as donuts is a recognisable side effect of their design. It has nothing to do with the mirror in the camera body of a film SLR or DSLR, which is where you seem to be getting confused.
Thank you sir for saving me a lot of time learning this tool. You are a great teacher. I wonder how this tool compared to the Depth Blur neural filter in Photoshop.
Excellent video, as always. How do I change tool to zoom in when I’m refining the image and what finishes your session for lens blur to get back to your normal zoom tool?
I find the depth map implementation very interesting. This is the most difficult part of rendering a 3D stereo graphic image. Hopefully Adobe has thoughts of expanding functionality along these lines.
What I would like to know is if I can use the new blur function in Raw in a batch, ie: to have several images in Raw and apply the same blur to them all.
The major issue that I have is those small areas that need fine-tuning and adjusting - like the lasso and hat, etc. The amount of clean-up is fine for one photo, but if that is required for multiple images from a photoshoot, then an actual wide aperture lens will more than pay for itself.
I think you should always use the correct lens when possible. Sometimes retouchers have no choice though, as well as editing existing photos. I found it to be pretty decent on most photos. I picked the lasso and horse as a more difficult image to test the capabilities
I use it for my RAW images shot on my Samsung S20 (I use PRO mode). I edit in Lightroom Mobile, and it elevates my family photos immensely despite the blur tool being limited on a mobile version. I can't praise it enough.
This tool needs far too much finessing at this point to be usable ... so far I have found a good use case for it to be worth implementing ... maybe after it gets out of beta
Purists hate it, hobby people like it. I personally cant and don't always have the perfect lens with me and this is a very viable option. Thank you for a great lesson on how to use it.
I was playing with it and its amazing. except.. and I hope they'll apply and INVERT button.. that would be nice.. or am I missing something? hahahaha great video

Always the best most informative no BS instructional videos on the TH-cam. Thanks for all you Colin!
Thanks

Thank you for the explanation on using lens blur, I had not appreciated the new tools in LR
It’s great to see Lightroom getting some photoshop like features.
Wonderfully explained and presented. I've not even looked at the tool but feel like I can use it effectively right away!
Thank You. Excellently presented and explained.
Interesting, might change your mind on f 2.8 or lower f stop purchase
Was totally at odds with this until I came across this tutorial, and I have now tried a few time, fantastic! thanks re Linden
Thank you very Much. You explained this new tool very clear for me!
I never miss your tutorials so very grateful
Thank you for an informative video. The ring bokeh is simulating the artefacts of a mirror lens.
Yes, it is, as in an SLR

Thanks Colin, your explanation really helped....
Glad to hear it
The best explanation, of this feature, that I have seen. Cheers!
Thanks so much
thanks and congratulations Colin! - great detail, great examples.
Thanks
I was wondering how refining works, thanks! Also good to know the descriptions of the bokeh.
Thanks Amy!
Thanks for teaching us about this. Good stuff.
my pleasure
Excellent~ thanks Colin!
Thank you sir for saving me a lot of time learning this tool. You are a great teacher. I wonder how this tool compared to the Depth Blur neural filter in Photoshop.
Thanks! It works similar, but this is non destructive being Lightroom and ACR
I always get value from your vidoes . Ive learned so much from you. Thanks very much. Sean 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great explanation answered all my questions
Glad to help

You're welcome
Thank you very much!
Superb!

This is all new to me, thanks! It almost seems like I can shoot everything at F10 and this will give me control in post.
Top job as usual. Thanks
Super helpful!
Super cool and informative. Thanks!!
Well done. This is a very useful tool and easy to use.
Yes, it is
thank you
Excellent video, as always. How do I change tool to zoom in when I’m refining the image and what finishes your session for lens blur to get back to your normal zoom tool?
Turn off the tool you are using eg: If you are using the blur tool. click blur to turn it off and it goes back to the hand tool.
Great, thanks@@photoshopcafe
Thanks!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the kind gesture :)
Brilliant, thanks for that.
Anytime

Brilliant ! Excellent work
Thanks
Does the new Lens Blur tool process the images locally or upload them to Adobe's cloud for processing?
Local

this is fantastic
THX
Brilliant
unfortunately this feature disables my GPU each time I try to use it in ACR. Perhaps still early in time for full feature. ... I hope!
Where is link new version my friend
thank you for the amazing ךקדדםמ.
Grear
Luminar has had this feature for a long while now. I don't see the point to even invest in pro lenses anymore.. =/

Looks cheesy and contrived. But good video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Yes, there is always a divide between the 2. I guess whatever brings you joy
Tbh Lightroom is so far behind the curve in features than some free mobile apps. Embarassing.
oh? How so?
I learn how to control focus in the new upgrade version of Lightroom
I was playing with it and its amazing. except.. and I hope they'll apply and INVERT button.. that would be nice.. or am I missing something? hahahaha great video
You can change the focus to the foreground or background. What are you hoping to do with an invert button?
except that it is unusably slow.. 🥴
Same experience on my computer
