Wonderful Video Mia and very timely, thank you for sharing.
Loved your song at the end. If you ever stop teaching Portuguese, you could become a singer. :)
I just started learning Portuguese a month ago with a private tudor who is in Lisbon and love the language, though challenging at times but nothing that can't be learnt and overcome.
Your videos are really helpful, especially to listen to the pronounciations and get a feel for the language.
Thank you and looking forward to more great Portuguese lessons. :)
    Feliz Pascoa!

Nós celebramos a Páscoa aqui no Canadá. Temos Domingo de Páscoa e Segunda-feira de Páscoa, mas a Quaresma não é comum.

Boa Páscoa! Always fun videos from you. Easter in the U.S. is kind of the same all over. Baskets full of Easter candy that the Easter Bunny brought, Easter egg hunts, some go to Church, Easter dinners with family. The typical is Ham, Honey Baked Ham or some kind of Lamb as the main course. Sides Dishes could be Sweet Potato Casserole, Potato Au Gratin, some Dinner Rolls, then whatever vegetable and dessert depending on which part of the country you are from. But really, all the good stuff I can't eat anymore. 🤔 Gordinha aqui 😆

This is a Fabulous Video Mia and God bless you for it. I also want to commend your English, It´s as English as that of the Queen of England. Ok, on how we celebrate Easter in this part of the world (The Gambia). My Country is largely Muslim-dominated, Xtians are just 4% of the population and Muslims are 95%. Despite these religious differences, we have had a good relationship. During Lenten Season We Fast like Muslim, we abstain from food and water the whole day exept on good Friday, were we fast only a half day. More or less our Easter ambiance begins on good friday. we go to church for the stations of the cross (via sacra) which we mostly dramatize on this day. some will take the Jesus role of Jesus, and others, Mary, the Disciples, pilate, you name it. and then we act it out the whole stations. After the stations of the cross on good friday, xtians have this tradition of preparing one local dishe called "Naan Mburu". Very nice and i hope you (Mia) try it one day. so we prepare this one of our best dishe and share it with all, Muslims, Xtians, ATR everybody. The rationale behind this is that, xtian try to replicate in thier own little way the sacrifice and love of their Lord Jesus Christ, whose death we believe is for all mankind. so we try to show this kind of love to everyone by given them one of our best dishe as Jesus gave us His very best (HIS BODY) as our spirtual food and nurishment. On the third day of the Holy Tridium (the saturday after the Good Friday) some xtians also fast untill 7Pm and then we go for the Vigil Mass at 9pm or 10pm. Easter sunday is also family celebration and at 5pm we organise a little football match ( this is particularly in my little village "Kafuta Mbulla") between us (the youths) and our parents. we play against our fathers and our sister play against our mothers and the outcome is always obvious. But now most of our parents are old, so the football match goes this way, youths with children and does without children. But one can be very competative. At night we usually organize a fundarising night clube.
so that is the little way we celebrate our easter.

ahhh thank you so much for you nice comment about my English and my video. I really liked to read about Easter in Gambia. My father has visited your country. I am glad that you have peace between Christians and Muslims, that is very nice :) I hope I can also try the nice food you speak about. Sounds nice :) Also, the football looks like a good tradition! Are you celebrating with your family this year again? How is the situation with Covid 19 there? Are there cases?
Thank you for letting me know a little bit about your Easter.
      Beijinhos e Boa Páscoa,
      Mia.

@@MiaEsmerizAcademy yeah we celebrate the Easter beautifully but now for five years i have miss that celebration. i was in Ghana for four year and now in cabo verde. i am in cabo verde to study the portuguese and that is how i got to know you through your very helpful videos. i am still very new in cabo verde, just a month and and a half old in here. my portuguese is still very weak bearly enought to take me to the market to buy something.
Also, good to know your Dad was in my Country and i hope his stay there was wonderful. i think he (your Dad) should have spend that visit in my village 😊, it would have been more memorable. Yeah we have covid-19 cases but not much. The cases hardly reach hundry. I was there for Christmas and the social life was quite very normal.
For the gratitude you express for letting you know about how we celebrate our Easter, i want to tell you that, they are well recieved. Thanks very much

I’m not sure where exactly my father was when he visited Gambia. Maybe he was in your village. :)
Well, I hope you still had a nice Easter there, although you’re not in your country.
If you need any help with your Portuguese, let me know! I have some courses you might enjoy.
