I was one of the weapon animators who worked on this game. I left the team halfway through development because I wasn't happy with the direction the game was going and the payment was less than worth it (still haven't been paid in full what the lead dev promised). It's a shame how this turned out

ALRIGHT GUYS, so this game fucking sucks. Like, it really sucks. That said, the gun animations are surprisingly well done and smooth. Granted many of the models themselves are stolen. P.S: Go buy/play Half Life Prospekt instead. It's not a great mod but at least it uses new & original models and assets that are NOT taken. Plus the fact that its $10 which is a better game than THIS asset-stealing overpriced game!

It frightens me how much audio I'm hearing from Insurgency, Day of Infamy & Иavaяo's Workshop Collection (I could swear I heard an asset or two Project Reality uses).
I might as well be playing "Hunt Down the Legitimate Asset", as it's all too easy to assume most of it was nicked off of various game addons from the Steam Workshop (If not simply from the Garry's Mod Workshop's various ports) to supplement whatever they did have made/authorised for their game.
Dude, as a PR player myself, I think I'm hearing some Project Reality guns as well.

You can't realistically vet most of this unless you directly compare the audio waves or something. Many of Insurgency, DOI, and PR weapons use unmodified sound library samples that you could find in a handful of other games, as do most of Navaro's sounds.

When you shoot a shotgun, the shell doesn't just fucking pop out, you have to pump the thing, and then it will pop...
Unless your using the SPAS-12's semi fire, but this doesn't use that.

#1 Battle Medic How can you compare that to this!? The beta storyline was fucking awesome and i think i might like it more than the storyline in the final game.
Me too, it had way more depth than the actual one we got in the release.
The variety of weapons that could've still been developed into the final build is still very big, the OICW could've been a good one in the current game.

They make money on some assets, yet many of them were bought and used properly (people like to talk about stuff they are zero at and making such ridiculous statements as a theft of l4d content and so on. With such succes they can say that HDTF stole Half-Life 2's assets aswell). But to be honest, there are mods better than this... "game".

Some stuffs that really bother me about this game :
- The thumb is way too long.
- The shotgun shells didn't even fit into the gun when he jam it in, also the thumb clips into the shotgun.
- Only 5 bullets loaded into the revolver.
- 2 different reload sounds for the M1911.
- The amount of weapons in this game.
- The gloves change every time Mitchell changes weapon.
- The empty shotgun shells eject before he even pump the shotgun.
- The double barrels shotgun sounds weak.
- The thumb twistes sometimes.
- The knife sounds like the crowbar , obviously.
- Mitchell using the entire can of painkiller within a sec.
- The character models, the voices, everything about the game.

No, it's actually because you get these guns in different chapters of the game where your character is wearing different clothes.
That's not true? During the Nova prospekt chapter, if you switch to the Half Life shotgun from, idk, one of the "new" guns, it changes to the suit hands from Half Life 2.

The guns were really the thing that I liked the most about this game. Everything else, ugh... just, ugh.
Despite the gunplay not being faithful to the original Half-Life games (in my opinion), the sounds, animations and the general feel of the guns are all quite good in my opinion.
I choose to picture the home owner coming home, sees all the damage, calls up his insurance and just tells them jarek was in the area
The only aspect of this game that keeps me playing it for a while before deleting it. Hope these Anims will be available somewhere else...

I believe the AWP model is the L96A1 in Black Ops.
I can confirm that the animations are not stolen. I know because me and other people I know made them. As for the models and textures, well I'm not sure.
Nanman models are surely stolen... I recall seeing that either in COD or a weapon pack in Gmod
Justin Winarto I had pretty much no contact with the weapon artist during development, however I've not seen most of these models before and I've been doing this for a long time now. Again, I don't know if the accusations of stealing are true or not. I'd like to know personally because I despise stealing other people's work, especially for monetary gain.

In HL2 it was a USP, but that gun is striker fired, meaning it's more like a Glock that self identifies as a USP.

@@battlefields2mine But it's not a single action, it's an S&W 686 or some other S&W .357 or respective ripoff of it. That's a double/single, meaning that hand technique is equivalent to shooting a MK23 like a soldier from the Great War, all one handed and turned to the side.
And even then, I have real single action revolvers and I do NOT cock them or shoot them with my hand like that. That's a movie thing, fanning the hammer is useless at best and real technique would either involve cocking it with your right thumb (to be period accurate for a single action) or just using your left with a two handed grip.

The weapons while well animated have no place in this game. There is no reason as to why there should be 3 pistols and smgs and 2 snipers which essentially fill the same purpose. There's a reason why half life's sandbox was so good and it was that each of the weapons were unique in one way or another.

Edit= I was wrong about the ak reload is from insurgency but I still think the ak reload is from some other game.
Probably not just games, I'm sure some of these animations look similar to some you'd find on sites like GameBanana for alot of source based mods, skins and animation packs for games such as Counter Strike Source and GO etc all of which can be downloaded for free providing they ARENT used in paid content. The guy probably just downloaded alot of animations off of there and used them without the original animators permission.
