Sir Tom Jones is 84 and he can still sing this song.
You've just been ambushed by talent, girl. This is a live performance. Magical.
He still has a strong voice even in his eighties, he definitely is one of a kind
😊one of my favourite songs by sir Tom Jones , and I wasnt born when this was sang by him.. he is incredible ... and knocks this out the water ..pure class and such a good song ..
I'm so happy to see so many of you young folks keeping the music of my generation alive and going strong. Thank you, young lady.
The Miner's son from Wales who, despite his incredible career, still acts as if he can't quite believe it's happened to him. Put a mic in front of him, though, and he can sing the phone book. Perhaps the greatest male vocalist produced by the British Isles.
At 70 I have heard and watched this hundreds of times but still love watching people hear this for the first time ❤.
Tom is a legend what a beautiful voice ❤
ALL the ladies love Tom Jones...
And all guys wish they could sing like Tom Jones, lol!
Amazingly talented, and actually nice guy.
And remember - that’s live performance !
This is definitely a performance for the ages. 😊
He’s still got it at 84!
You are EXACTLY RIGHTTTTTTT 💯. THIS was real music!!!!! I grew up with 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's. Best music ever.
Sir Tom Jones is from the lovely country of Wales 🏴💓. Have loved him since the 60’s and to this day. When he performed in live concerts the females went wild over him and threw him lingerie gifts on the stage!! Check out It’s Not Unusual, ‘Delilah’, ‘Green Green Grass of Home’ just a few of his hits, and Sir Tom still sings on The Voice (Britain) when encourages by the ladies 🥰
Mr.Jones still sounds great at his current age of 84 and that just blows me away.
SIR Tom Jones. Queen Elizabeth knighted him because of his importance to UK and world music culture. I think everyone can agree on that, and agree that he deserves to be called by his full title for amazing he is.
@@numbersasaname2291Sorry to disappoint you but I don't participate in that game.I give respect by calling him Mister Jones so practice being the internet police with somebody else.
I saw him last april. He's still a beast!
@@cargo71 The man is simply a freak of nature because nobody should sound as good as he does at 84.Tom is something else my friend and kudos to you for seeing him in April!
God Blessed him with that all world voice. Still can sing at 80
He sang this live with no auto-tune .... this kind of voice, and doing it live 'one time' in front of the camera's is amazing....this man is a talent above & beyond the normal...fantastic performance!!!
hre's the kicker honey....he still sounds great today....once you have it like he has you never loose it... He's the best !!!
Tom Jones...what a singer..what a man...yes no auto-tune..real talent...
This and two others make a perfect trifecta..and in this order 👍😁..
💥... I'm Never Gonna Fall In Love Again...this one of course
💥...I Who Have Nothing
💥... Delilah
Yes the order is important.. you'll understand once you've heard them...the first 2 are in what was called a 'Crooner' style..the last is different as you will see.. however they are all done quite powerfully...
I'm so glad you've found this magnificent voice...the writers flooded him with every song they had available..they knew his talent and dearly wanted him to sing their songs..so yeah.. you'll see other's names on his work for he wasn't a writer...
Welcome aboard young lady...🌿🌿🌿
Simply a man of class, a master of his craft and a 'ladies man'.
At that time, his nickname was 'The Tiger'. If that doesn't say something...
Love from Germany
I'm from the same valley as him in Wales, we used to call him, 'Tom the Tonsils' !
I got to meet Sir Tom a long time ago when I worked security for a couple of his shows. As I recall, he was very gracious and kind to everyone, and he made sure we all ate well.
I grew up listening to Tom Jones, really enjoyed watching your reaction.
A living legend that today can sing with his powerfull voice. One of the best male singers by far. He is my mother favorite singer.
The Tom Jones Show introduced us to lots of great artists. Tom sang with many rock and roll bands on his show.
“I know him as an old guy.” LOL! Great reaction! Much love ❤️
He has a good collection of knickers as well😍
You are in trouble!!! Keep going with Tom Jones!!!! 🔥💖🔥
I love this performance by the Welsh Wonder Tom Jones. I had a hard time watching some of his later performances because I was embarrassed by the smooching! Honestly, he was/is magnificent.
Wow you lite right up when he started singing.....glad you enjoy what I grew up listening to
Look him up on one of his appearances on The Voice UK from the last few years. He is still fabulous - and don't forget to call him SIR Tom Jones.. 🙂
You react to him the same way I remember women in the 60s reacting.
Check out Tom Jones singing, "Delilah." You'll be blown away with the story as well as his voice.
Treat Her Right, from his TV show will show you how well Tom recovered from this heartbreak he went through here. 😮😮
LOVE your reaction !! You seem to hang on ever note and word. Your eyes told the story !! Keep it up !!
The fact that he was full of cold and still pulled this off, live, amazing. You hear him clear his throat near the start, it's that bad.
FYI- Tom‘s ability to hold a note for long periods of time led to him being selected to sing the theme song for the James Bond movie „Thunderball“. Check it out some time. Cheers
I remember his TV show.....great voice.
You should also check out "Green Green Grass of Home". It is sad, but it was one of Tom's biggest hits and shows his vocal range as well as his melancholy almost "folk" side because of the lyrics
Fantastic singer!!
Excellent Live or Video 50s threw 80s 😊
Olavity...your reaction says it all. No need to elaborate any further.
I love this version. His voice sends shivers down my spine. The song was written for him by Lonnie Donnigan.
( BTW.)
Lonnie *Donegan
No it wasn't!
Lonnie Donegan wrote it in 1962, years before he even met Tom Jones!
@@jamespasifull3424 Beg your pardon mate, but I saw Lonnie's son on 'The voice' in front of Tom Jones and he said that his dad, Lonnie, wrote it for Tom and Tom agreed. Check it out, it's possible I misunderstood.
He's definitely a legend! Next song u will just love by him is called,, She's a Lady! And also,, What's New Pussycat! They r 2 of my favorites! Also, so many women were in love with him, and got carried away at his concerts! ALOT of them would throw their bras and underpants up on stage!
Oh, his voice is what,....... amazing!!....... I know right!!!😊
Now try Tom's hit, 'Delilah.'
Amazing singing, devastatingly handsome, incredible sex appeal....and that's just by being a Welshman...check out 'It's Not Unusual'...
Green Green Grass of Home, Without Love, Delilah, Not unusual , and Help yourself , and many more.
Live pure voice
His secret super sing power is because he's Welsh/Cymru there's rain in the air gives tone 😉👍🏻
Beautiful though Madame I know its cheeky to say
You need to check out him and Janis Joplin doing a duet from his TV show.
If Tom has a superpower, it's his ability to 'sell' a song. So many women ask the question, 'who did this to him?' The reality is that Tom married his high school sweetheart and they were together until her death in 2012. The man is a class act.
Melinda died in 2016
❤
Know anyone that sounds just as good at Eighty as they did at Twenty-Five? That's Tom!
Now Jackie Wilson was Elvis's mentor and there's a song he does that you need to see live call lonely teardrops Elvis even took some of his moves and put in his act
Awesome reaction.
In the days of talent, NO gimmicks existed like today, you had talent or you didn't, period.
Great reaction
Tom Jones hits, "Love me Tonight", "Help Yourself", "Daughter of Darkness", "It's Not Unusual"(His first big hit), "Without Love", "I'M Coming Home", "A Minute of Your Time". Look at his song list, so many great songs.
ALSO, listen to Englebert Humperdinck, "Please Release Me" . Look at his song list too. So many hit songs.
When Tom was young he'd get behind the curtains and have his Mom announce him braking through to perform. Source for this is BBC Desert Island Discs.
The guy who wrote the song, Lonnie Donegan, also recorded it and it's on TH-cam. You can compare the two and it's a great demonstration of how a great song needs the right arrangement and the right vocal to make it magical. The original is ok, Tom lifts it to another level completely.
Young or old, Tom Jones is amazing.
Really really nice reaction, he's in his 80's and can still sing so good. Looking forward to more reactions. You should check out Angelina Jordan's new songs bad valentine and if I were a boy. Both are amazing. Take care. ❤
Written for him by Lonnie Donegan, the Skiffle King. check out the video of Tom singing it with Lonnie's son in BGT.. moving...
the background music is a recording without any voices --- but Tom is singing this live ....
btw -- this song was written for him by lonnigan - a folk type singer in England ... it was a hit in England also ...
That's my favorite Tom Jones song. Yes, he and Elvis were good friends. Elvis called Tom "The Voice"; a bit prophetic maybe. They used to go to each others concerts, and hangout after the shows. Sir Tom is definitely a legend. He is best know for "Delilah", so here's the link to that classic song: th-cam.com/video/MIIU9xkGAMs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PwwGykupz7WB-lE_
Hey, don't knock old guy's! 😆
My mum loved TJ and Rod Steward...
The Welsh are noted for their wonderful singers, also actors and TV personalities, all with beautiful rich melodious voices.
It occurred to me just now Tom Jones would have made a fine opera singer, had he chosen to go down that path - he certainly seems to have had the basic equipment! Not that he hasn't had an amazing, and long-standing career in popular/ non-classical music. Starting from humble beginnings, he hit the big time in the 60s with his talent and charisma, and never looked back.
Like a boss
He is Welch and I am from a Welch background myself and they look like they are Italians and Greeks when they are young.. Tom had a terrible health issue when he was young but the pain was rewarded with mass success....
Welch??
SUGGESTION:
Tom Jones & Helene Fischer
“Sex Bomb”
Live on the Helene Fischer TV show.
(Tom was 80 years old at-the-time of this performance…
One of my FAVORITES!!! His & Helene’s chemistry together is… ADORABLE. )
👋👋👏👏💖💖🙌🙌
Great reaction. But you are missing a treat. Tom just turned 84 last week (June 7) and he is a regular on The Voice UK. One of the talents on the show was Peter Donnegan, who's father Lonnie Donnegan wrote this song for Tom. And Peter played and sang it with Tom on the show.
th-cam.com/video/ySopatr6AoE/w-d-xo.html
And without looking at the video, deciding which is the 1970s version and The Voice duet is difficult to tell. Tom's voice is still all there.
Lonnie Donegan wrote it for himself, but didn't have a hit with it.
He offered it to TJ, YEARS later!
Check your facts! 🙄
Tom is , of course, Welsh. A nice contrast would be to try Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky (Abbey Road Live Session). Paulo has Italian ancestry, but speaks with a broad Glasgow (Paisley) accent.
Please try Green Green Grass of Home as the story in it will probably make you want to cry! Love your videos xx
Hey Olavity, Check out Delilah by Tom Jones.
👍💯❤️
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
the Welsh giant ! Tom JONES.
Elvis was a huge admirer of Tom Jones
You might want to react to the very great Bobby Goldsboro singing "HONEY"
Tom was a MANS MAN ❤ he was so masculine 😂 FYI.. ELVIS WAS A BIG FAN, LATER THEY BECAME FRIENDS AND THEN POOR ELVIS STARTED FEELING JEALOUS BECAUSE HE THOUGHT PRICILLA FANCIED TOM 😂😂😂
I believe this was live on the BBC in 1967 try some more of his work from this period no voice correction hear pure voice
Man goes go the doctor and says, "Doc, I can't stop singing The Green Green Grass of Home".
"Hmm", says the doctor, "that sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome".
"Is it common?"
"It's not unusual"
The numerous stories of how women reacted in his heyday to his live concerts in Las Vegas are amusing. Night after night they would throw their undergarments and their hotel keys on the stage! He could not ride the elevators because he would be swarmed by smitten females. Amazing.
You'll flip out when you see him perform TREAT HER RIGHT live on his TV show.
"She's a Lady" is a sassy sexy song that melts womens hearts.
😆😆😆
Listen first comment AFTER !
Tom was married to his high school sweetheart for 60 years
And cheated on her scores of times.
@@timcarr6401 True, but at least he didn't dump her and stayed til the end. Many cant survive 5 years before they separate.
They don't have high school in wales
And the number of times Tom cheated rivals the number of women Wilt Chamberlain had.
@@stevejoshua9536 so what. His wife stayed with him for 60 years and he never claimed fidelity. As CSNY said nearly 50 years ago. If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with.
If you like The Supremes, then you might like this, Tom Jones and Mary Wilson (the sexy one) had a two year love affair.
Two Tom Jones MUST LISTENS: 1) Love me tonight -- 2) She's lady
Hi Ola, Tom is England's version of Elvis.
You are correct, apart from him being Welsh😊
@@twatinahatsmith7428 Fine, the UK's version of Elvis.
@DanielFrost21 No offence mate. I would happily have him as a Englishman. But the Welsh might say we've stolen enough as it is.
@@twatinahatsmith7428 None taken
@@twatinahatsmith7428 It's all good
He had females from all over the world falling in love with him.
I saw Tom Jones at the Dunes in Las Vegas with a full orchestra in 1992, it was a tradition for women in the audience to throw their underwater on the stage, he would wipe the sweat off his forehead, and throw it back to them.
Women used to actually throw their underwear on to the stage when he sang.
Tom Jones, the original Panty dropper.
Back when you needed actual TALENT to perform and get paid. There is a reason they call it " the good old days".
Tom Jones giving women damp drawers wherever he goes.
FYI- Tom‘s ability to hold a note for long periods of time led to him being selected to sing the theme song for the James Bond movie „Thunderball“. Check it out some time. Cheers
Elvis thought Tom Jones had one of the greatest voices of their time.
