    Thank you so much! I’ve been curious about this light. Of course I love everything Cory puts out and next time I need to buy a light, this will be my next one. Currently I have Hygger, Nicrew, Beamswork, Lifegard, and Fluval. 😂 Quite the selection.

    It’s ok but Dawn/dusk mode ramp is a must have, so is a built in timer with battery backup.

    I love the Fluval lights in my setup. Running 8 of them and need 4 more. Very convenient having all of them in a row labeled and setting them up differently for different situations. Yes thunderstorm settings = lame lol. I find all the lights out these days get the job done tho. Even the cheapies.

  • @jayfuller3709
    @jayfuller3709 ปีที่แล้ว

    I use the Hygger 970 series lights. They are a simpler & cheaper light. With my home automation system they come on at the preset light level I have the light set at. Very few I tested did. They came on at 100%.

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. Doesn’t get much simpler than the co op light tho

    Curious how this compares to the Current Satellite Plus

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think they are very similar in terms of intensity and power. A 4ft Current USA will likely be $50-60 more. It would come with a remote and some of the modes I mentioned not using much (ex: Thunderstorm mode)

  • @cichlidexperience2256
    @cichlidexperience2256 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I purchased some current USA lights thinking that the lightning features would be cool, but after a couple of days messing with them I just turn it on to my favorite setting and rarely use other features 😅. I should’ve gone with something a bit cheaper.

    Personally I do really like the app with the Fluval 3.0 lights. I think Aquarium Coop made a mistake with the clunky manual in-line controller, not unlike their infamous mistake with the hideous green sponge filters.

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To each their own. I never use the app. Also the in-line controller hangs behind the tank so I wouldn’t consider it clunky

  • @scotp6362
    @scotp6362 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are right about the Hyggar light. I have two of them and ultimately went to plugging them in only when I want light on the tank. I have an old Fluval light that is plugged into an old fashioned plug in dial timer that works great. Simple is better. On another note, How do you like your discus tank now that you have had it for a little while? Is it all you thought it would be? Do you find it any more challenging? Is it enjoyable? I will have a 75 open up soon and I am contemplating next steps. Do I finally try Discus? Do I finally try a Fowlr salt tank? I know in your last video you said you decided you had too many freshwater cichlids you wanted to keep so you abandoned the salt water tank. Me too, but I need another 180 or bigger to keep the ones I want, but I think I could keep 5 Discus in a 75. Just curious your thoughts now that you have them. Would you do it again?

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad I’m not the only one lol. The discus are doing great. Not as hard to keep as some will say. Would definitely do it again. Can’t wait to add some tank mates in there as well

    Hello brothers from UK!!! Waiting impatiently for a new drain! Regards. A small question for Mbuna, is it best to place the light in front of the aquarium or in the middle?

    • @CichlidBros

    Thank goodness there are no gimmicks added. I like a basic on/off light, with ramp up/down and a high/medium/low, light choice. I like the cord length and the look of the leg extensions on this light. It looks classy. I also like the warranty.
    I hope this light has a long lifespan. Is this listed?
    Can this light do 4 watts per gallon?
    Can it really grow high light plants like ludwigia sedoidies, ludwigia natans super red mini, triple red and water hyacinth?
    Thanks for the review.
