Hi man, I know you know what you are doing but I'll say it anyway because I just keep discus for a good few years and sometimes when you see something every day you don't see changes. That first tiger you zoomed into in 5he video is wasting away from skinny disease or fluke. I'd recommend you hit that tank hard with a good wormer and air stone. It will cross to the others one by one if not treated. Hopefully if its still eating you will be able to treat it easily. Thanks BTW my favourite tank with discus is 500 rummy nose tetra and discus in a 300 gallon. Something mesmerising about a big rummy nose school.
Don’t do the angels, they will out compete your discus for food, plus just have the discus as your main center piece fish, Instead I would add 3 more discus. Great selection of other fish though
Hello. Do you medicate your fish while in quarantine? If you do, what medications do you use? I was born in Berwyn in 1976. All I know is that it’s in the Chicago area. I also lived in Mount Prospect for a semester when I was in high school. Anyway, love your channel. Love watching the interaction between you and your bros. I had a younger brother once, but he passed away. He was getting in the hobby, the week he died he got a 36 bow front set up, had no clue what he was doing and all the fish died. I wish I would’ve just been able to save one. But I figure those fish are with him wherever he’s at now.
I love beyond the reef.. got my clownfish from there ., they are excellent for plants as well .. I think I know what the other store is and they are ok but they have slipped in the past year.
Always have liked the tops on your discus tank, very nice tank gorgeous discus. I finally bought a 55 gallon, biggest I have had. Thinking of 5-6 inch south american tank when full grown, sand bottom.
Issue with rummynose is if they're small, the discus will go on a murder spree. I put 20 in and I have 5 remaining. They relentlessley went after them.
I set up a 90 gallon tank for discus last year, and have a very similar stocking. I have four Red Scribble Stenker discus from Discus Hans, and two blue pinoy angels I got from Aquatic Arts. I also have a royal pleco, two twig catfish, 7 green gold corys (I started with two, and they bred in the tank!), and 4 neon tetra's (down from original 15) from LFS. Not sure what happened with the neons; I only removed two that had some obvious issues. I am now holding 6 rummy nose tetras and 6 cardinal tetras in quarantine. I look forward to see how your tank comes along.

What temperature are you keeping your discus tank at? Do you treat the quarantine tanks with any medicine? I usually always treat for ick initially even if I don't see any evidence on the fish. By the time you see ick on fish, it can be hard to turn things back around.

They both enjoy Amazonian conditions - soft, acidic water and high temperature - and on that note they're both Amazon natives for those who like biotype setups 2. Their appearances contrast and complement each other nicely, discus are big and round while rummynose are small and slender 3. Rummynose are peaceful and won't bother the discus, and their presence as dither fish will help them feel more secure 4. Rummynose tetras, as everyone knows, can serve as an indicator that it's time to do tank maintenance, which is vitally important for keeping sensitive species like discus Plus discus need lots of space, which means plenty of room for a nice big school of rummynose tetras for great visual appeal

Yep agreed. Although the prices of the fish are so low that it was actually the best deal I could find when comparing to other online stores with the same fish
@Cichlid Bros my youngest cat is obsessed with my tanks as well. I get worried when he climbs on top of it and I see all his hair up there and sometimes in the tank. Should I be worried or stop stressing over it? I try my best to keep him from swatting at the class because he scares the crap out of my baby EBA

Troy, I have been waiting on this video great selection of tetras. Rummy nose are great fish. I love my Cory's I have some green ones also. I second the blue rams. I have two in my 55 gal they are amazing fish. I love them and there personality. I got my order in last week from the Cichlid shack it took a while to ship. I got my chocolate cichlid and Denison barbs in. Beautiful fish and great personality the chocolate cichlid has. I got it from your recommendation on the videos. Appreciate the content and video. I also got a few catfish from the Cichlid shack like pictus and a few others they are cool.
i got 10discus with rummy nose, blue diamond tetra n harlequin rasbora but they all got eaten by my discus.. i dont know what to do, i gave 2 times food in 1day is that not enough?

Very similar tank mates to my discus tank. I have 2 dozen rummy nose, 6 orange venezuelan cory, a sultan pleco and 6 harlequin rasbora.

83 F… usually do not treat in quarantine unless I see issues.
Pleco and Discus do NOT go together well . A bristlenose is fine, the big version wil suck the discus. Seriously.
I wouldn’t make that blanket statement. There are more Plecos that will work fine than just the bristlenose
I have 4 Discus, 2 Angelfish in a 90 gallon, they go together perfectly.
