@@zanderog1849 just got this monitor and ulmb2 + 540hz work on the amd 7800xt. Most people who dont have this option has power saving mode on which greys out the option or they didnt overclock it to 540hz so no ulmb2
ulmb 2 is NOT nvidia only! I am running the monitor on a 7800x3d and 7900 xtx and it works just fine at 540hz. The only difference with nvidia and amd is that you can only use the ulmb on amd only at 540hz. i think with a nvidia graphics card you can enable the ulmb as low as 360hz.
Ulmb2 is nvidia only. Im sure the monitor works just fine, but just because it says the ulmb2 is enabled doesn’t mean it’s working lol… there is not a single person online who has ulmb2 on an amd gpu without some trickery. The whole thing is software and gpu based, which means it’s not a hardware switch and gpus can turn on easily as well…
Ended up getting this over the zowie or OLED. Mostly because the screen size is good for gaming and it's cheaper now than before. I got mine for $600. OLED is great but it's just too expensive and the text clarity is not there for the kind of work I do at that resolution.
I don't know if you still have the monitor or have done the test but do you know how many Milliseconds gtg goes after activating Ulmb 2? since I understand that Overdrive is deactivated with ULMB
How would this compare to a 360Hz OLED? I feel like the latter might be a better bet overall given that you also don't have to push up to 540Hz and you get a 1440p resolution too...
i am using the 360hz alienware aw2725df qd oled. coming from the alienware 34 inch qd oled aw3423dwf 165hz monitor, in my honest opinion? 360hz is not much of a difference. i play CS2 and 360hz vs 165hz of my previous ultrawide.. is subtle.
If I am building a pc with a ryzen 7 7800x3d, 4070ti (or maybe 4070), and 32gb 6400hz, will I get 540hz on valorant? If so, does the monitor also run well at lower fps on other games?
I bought it as a cs player i would recommend it only for cs and valo players any hardware in the world will not get consistent 540 fps on any other games so if you play valo and cs yes
You need max Overclocked memory tuned 14900k and rtx 4090 to get the benefits of this monitor realistically it's not possible for most people 1080p is only good for games like valorant and CSGO not good for BR or other large map fps games 1440p 360hz OLED is the sweet spot because OLED has instant response time even at low fps in my opinion zero ghosting is better than little bit of motion Blur I mainly play Apex legends 1080p display looks shit
