Hi guys, I am super sorry for the light fluctuating from 3:10 onwards. I tried a new set up with the camera, and it didn't work, and I didn't notice it until I published the video. I will be sure to go back to my usual setting from the next video. Again, apologies.
I was wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me. Thank you for explaining. I appreciate the video, the lighting was distracting. I’m so sorry. Thank you for your work.
please do not worry about that. it's a brilliant infornation session. much appreciated since i'd got myself a 5ml tube of the lunar b. only to find it wasn't 'blue' but more like a black or a slightly granulating neutral. will follow the recommendation for a wash for skies. ta.
I have Blue Apatite and I love love love love it. I've used it for glazing in figure sketches and you get interesting shadows. I find it's granulation is much more pleasing to my eye than the Lunar colors because that black just looks like dirt to me. I also love to mix it with Piemontite or Perelyne Maroon for a rich dark granulating purple. I also like to mix it up with French Ultramarine if I want to amp up the granulation.
HA HA HA yes that's another way of putting it. I love that. There are so many DS colours that look like these two with the teeniest tiniest of differences.
Oto Kano I was just thinking the same thing (that there were other similar colors). Have you tried burnt sienna light? It’s in the Alvaro Castagnet set, but it’s so similar to quinacridone burnt orange that I will never buy a tube of it once this 5ml is gone. It’s essentially QBO with a little granulation, and a two pigment mixture anyway.
Good to know Heather! I've always struggled to understand colours with the name 'light'. Can't we just make it by adding more water to the normal version?
I’m so glad I watched this video. I have blue apatite genuine. I was going to buy lunar blue tomorrow but searched and found this video. Now I realize I don’t need both. Thank you Otto!
I recently bought Lunar Blue. If I had checked the details I would have realised i could have mixed it myself from Lunar Black and Phthalo Blue. Still nice.
The little bit where the Quin Gold went into the Aureolin at 2:47 was exciting, the mix looks beautiful together. Lunar blue is much more exciting when it washes our with a wet in wet wash, the amazing aqua that spilts from it is stunning.
Thanks again! ❤ These two colours are so really, really similar, that this episode especially shows how it's truly wonderful of you make this series Oto! The DS prices are incredibly high, in many cases too high for Europeans, that making well informed choices is very important. I think, I'll pass both, because at the moment I'm not making anything that would greatly benefit from adding either of these colours to my palette. In the future I think I'd go with the Lunar Blue for the price point and if I ever start to use gauze in my paintings, I liked the effect better on lunar blue. The colour-greedy monster in me would want both. Naturally. 🤣
Thank you! I know what you mean, DS is so expensive here in the UK too. That's why if I am buying them anyway, I want others to benefit from it, so they don't have to spend money on paints they're going to regret, or be able to buy with confidence. :)
or you could get lunar black and phthalo blue and mix your own. Lunar black is amazing in it's granulation and varying tones. you can make an entire surreal landscape using this one paint and it defies those reasons for not using paint on your palette as it is exciting and unpredictable and not your hum drum ordinary black. It certainly does not "suck the life out of the painting" the way many painters warn would happen when black appears in a painting.
Blue Apatite looks more pure, less muddy than Lunar Blue. I won't buy either because I like single pigments and would just mix this color on my palette. I always think in terms of how I would use a color. How much functionality I can get. They are both beautiful colors. I just like the purity of Apatite. Really love this series. TFS
I absolutely love lunar blue and I was going to purchase blue apatite Genuine since it looks gorgeous (and I love green apatite) but after seeing this, I will just stick to the lunar blue! Thanks for a great comparison video.
I would (and have) pick the Lunar Blue because of the price point. The Blue Apatite Genuine does look a little more flashy under your light, but I kind of like how the Lunar Blue is a little more muted. I intend to experiment when it arrives and see if I can avoid the harsh blue line, but I can see how some projects would benefit from such an effect. Thanks for all of these awesome videos!
I have both! But only because I have had a 15ml tube of Blue Apatite for years and was given a 5ml tube of Lunar Blue over the summer. I never expected them to be so similar. I guess in the future I would buy neither and just make my own version using Lunar Black and phthalo blue! But that won't be anytime soon as while I think it is a gorgeous shade neither of them have made it on my main palette.
I just got Lunar Blue and I'm really happy to see this comparison because I've been wondering about Blue Apatite Genuine. I am really enjoying this series. Thank you for doing it!
I got some cheap gauze to try after seeing this series of comparison videos. What a blast! I ended up with something looking a bit like Dr. Who's Tardis and another almost the exact shape of California. Thank you so much for adding gauze to these videos! I used some Ultramarine (with a little Quin Rose) as you suggested. Green Apatite Genuine looked fabulous, and I mixed (on paper) Ultramarine and Sodalite which turned out really well. Moonglow remains one of my favorite pigments for happy surprises.
Yeah imma give you the best watercolor paint reviewer on youtube title. Seriously your vids are helping a lot. Thorough, clear, concise, and I can see the colors presented in front of me nicely. Thanks much! Stay safe :) Def thinking about getting blue apatite to replace my prussian and pthalo blues. Just ordered manganese, green apatite, and Buff Titanium! Just recently saw a post from an artist on IG using buff titanium as a way to get other colors to granulate and bloom, nearly like dropping alcohol or clean water on your wash. Interested to see how it turns out, I'm hoping I can use it to create dust and smoke coming up from the ground
Before buying new paints, I am now tempted to view your videos which are excellently helpful. would you please test the comparative transparency of the colours along with your reviews!
Many times I’ll still buy colors that are similar because of the different characteristics. If I don’t want black granulation in my picture then I’m going to want to go to the blue apatite. So I usually end up buying whatever colors I like even if they seem to be similar. For me different types of compositions call for different kinds of granulation or characteristics in the way the color distributes on the paper. It’d be really helpful if in some of your videos you could talk about what kind of compositions might a person want more granulation and then to use a more granuating color and which ones are good for other kinds of compositions where you don’t want certain types of granulation you want more of a pure smooth pigment blend.
These are great videos! Thank you for all the swatching and reviews! New to your channel. I came from Mind of Watercolor! Steve gave a recent shout out to you. Subscribed!🎨
Bubba kept smooshing his face up against my phone while I was trying to watch this, so I think he either likes them and is protecting me from purchase, or hates competing with my phone for attention. Hm.
Hi Otto, thank you for your pigment comparisons, they are extremely helpful! Would you mind telling me why you do a gauze test? Would you use it in a painting or is it just to test the paints? Thank you, Rachel
Great showdown. As for myself I'll go for the Blue Apatite Genuine as I love gemstones and their properties so the act of adding them to my paintings is very special to me. But you're right, no need to have both that's for sure.
I"m actually glad you did this video because I love blue and I have a bit of "must collect them all" - but after this I don't think I want either of them. So thanks for saving my money, I'll get something else! Rhodinite Genuine is THE colour I want to get but it's currently out of stock on the website I want to purchase on, so I have TWO WEEKS to decide what colours I want to purchase next. (birthday money is burning a hole in my pocket). I haven't actually seen much buzz about it so I am a bit worried about it, but from what I can see anyway it looks better to me than opera pink. I'm hoping it's good because I'm worried there doesn't seem much buzz around it.
ohhhh Rhodonite is so nice. Like you don't need it. You can easily make similar colors with normal paint. But there's something really nice about it. Out of all the Premateks I've tried (only a handful), it is the one color I don't need but really want on my palette.
I love this head to head Oto. Neither will make it to my palette for me, but if price wasn't a factor and I was picking one of them, I definitely prefer the blue apatite. I don't much care for the staining property of the lunar blue when it comes to highly granulating pigments, and I don't paint stormy skies enough (or ever haha) for this to be useful. I actually like the mixes of the cooler colors quite a bit, but I don't feel like it's a color I'd reach for.
I love that people are having a 'I don't want either of these colours' reactions :D It means a lot of money saved, and that is just as important in this series.
I think these colors are very different, especially in behavior. Blue Apatite is much darker in masstone than shown here, very transparent and makes wonderful greys and blacks with DS Burnt Sienna Light (a low-granulating orangey version of burnt sienna). I find I can get much darker and more neutral greys with BAG & BSL than with my usual Ultramarine & Burnt Sienna (although I love that combo, too). I only have a sample of Lunar Blue, but it's seems very different because of the separation. Jean Haines does some amazing things with Lunar Blue, but as others have said, one can mix it with Phthalo Blue GS and Lunar or Mars Black. The downside is the price of BAG, but I think my tube will last a very long time.
I have Lunar Blue on my palette, but not Blue Apatite Genuine. I love the color for night skies and cool granulation effects in water! This comparison was really helpful seeing as I wouldn't need Blue Apatite Genuine because of how similar they are. Thanks for yet another helpful comparison video, Oto Kano!
I've been enjoying your videos and the wealth of pigment information you share - so valuable! I *need* to get a tube of DS Moonglow and I "blame" you for enflaming my art supply hoarding tendencies LOL As for these two colors, the warmth of the lunar blue is a turn-off for me. I haven't looked up the price difference, but would probably reserve the Blue Apetite foe personal pieces that need the cooler tones and for commissions for serious collectors who prefer work that features the rare and unique. That being said, lunar blue COULD be useful for stormy waves...
I thought the light fluctuations were intentional. The momentary fluctuation to greyscale shows that both Lunar Blue and Blue Apatite Genuine appear the same as far as their values go. I don't have either paint and would have to order if my local book and supply store did not have either tube and could not get them. I'm not sure I need either; but, if I were to get one, it would be Lunar Blue because it costs less.
Great experience! They look almost same. Do you have in your plans to review lunar black and black tourmaline? Transparency + black in watercolour sounds tempting and fantastic. Is it really so? To achieve dark values with transparency...
I have the blue apatite genuine and not the lunar blue. The reason why is a little silly tho … just like with the Quinacridones, my local Daniel Smith store had a set of several of the primateks available (in 15mL tubes, not the little set that you can usually buy) and I had a 20% off coupon. I love the color, but after watching this, when it runs out I may replace it with Lunar Blue.
I actually enjoy the shades it creates with the yellows and reds, using those for shadows would be amazing. I think I prefer the genuine, but for the price I might settle for lunar blue.
I would choose neither! I would buy a tube of Lunar Black and mix it with some phthalo blue I already own. I imagine I could make a lot of apatite colors by mixing with Lunar Black!
You could make Lunar Violet too! Btw did you find that it combines as easily as the convenience mixture? I found a photo of Pthalo Blue & Lunar Black being mixed and it looked horrendous. I'm not sure if it's bc Daniel Smith mulls the pigments alot finer to make Lunar Blue look the way it does, or if the person who posted that photo used way too much Lunar Black. For me, it seemed like the latter was the problem.
I don't know if you've looked at holbein's indigo but it looks just like ds blue apatite just with less underlying green. It surprised me when I swatched it.
I’m loving this series, can’t ask about specific colours as I’m still taking everything in to get my first set, both options aren’t cheap here so I guess it would be down to the actual prices etc xxx💕
This was very useful! I have the 238 dot cards for swatching to get an idea of what I would be looking for from Daniel Smith in the future and I feel in love with the Lunar Blue. But since my swatches tend to be heavy, I didn't really get much granulation on mind, so nice to see that in action here. Both are beautiful colors, but if I had to choose, Lunar Blue would be the winner for me personally.
I’m a beginner and the stigma that exists concerning the use of black to make/mix colors would make me choose the Primatek. It’s one pigment color only too. Price-wise, I think it’d impact my wallet if I were to use a lot of it. Maybe, right? I like the color though but still don’t have it in my palette.
I really like Lunar Blue, I often use it in my paintings. Recently I got a dot card with blue apatite. So, I did not see the difference at all, although I can see it on your swatch! I can only explain this by the fact that they made a mistake on the dot card, since there is already one mistake. I think there is Lunar Blue instead of blue apatite!
You have now covered almost every single color I was planning on purchasing (Sugilite Genuine is the only one left) :D Between you and Inliquid Color's color spotlight series, all paints interesting to me are covered 😎 I wanted to ask about Lunar Blue's formula - do you think it will have a similar effect if you mix Lunar Black and Phthalo Blue by yourself? I was wondering if mixing pigments BEFORE adding in the binder and mixing ready-made colors from tubes are different. I've seen people try and imitate Rose of Ultramarine but it is never the same. The separation seems different when Daniel Smith mixes pigments first and later adds the binder. Wondering if that's the case with Lunar Blue...
So glad Denise and I are covering good ranges for you :D I know what you mean. I've tried blending two-pigment colours myself, and I can never seem to get it quite right. I can get it close, but never bang on. It could be my inexperience though. I like to just throw colours on paper quite fast, so having these convenience colours are invaluable. I tried to remake cascade green too, but as you said, the separation just isn't the same. There are some separations, but the cascade green does it so much better.
That's what justifies buying Lunar Blue separately for me. I wouldn't buy it for the hue but for the separation properties that don't replicate that well while mixing. Never thought I'd want this color before this illustration video. She uses Lunar Blue and Payne's Grey for shading and the separation is just mindblowing 👀 th-cam.com/video/epGKcteaBrU/w-d-xo.html
everart okelli Thanks so much for the reply 😊 Will check out Sandy's art. Yeah I don't use blacks either, I mix them mostly. Will definitely keep this in mind though. Maybe I can find uses for it after all.
I wouldn't add either because I can mix "lunar blue" from mars black and phthalo blue in any brand. I don't see the value in buying convenience mixtures unless they truly save you time.
Blue Apatite increases motivation and builds up energy reserves. It helps overcome self-consciousness and alienation, and promotes openness and social ease. It is beneficial in easing sorrow and anger, and in reducing irritability and emotional exhaustion
2:23 does anyone know why sometimes pigments are repelled by marker ink? And has anyone observed the same behavior when they're painting over pigment ink like sakura microns and uni pin?
does the blue apatite have any apparent sparkle effect from the crushed rock as is apparent with some of other primatek paints? I love that happening with some of the paints such as Kyanite Genuine, the bronzites, and the fuchsites, but it does dictate their uses and is a bit limiting . I have found that when folks review the primataks they rarely mention the sparkle issue even though they are not subtle. Thanks for this video, very helpful.
The blue apaptite doesn't haven't any sparkle at all. Thank you for asking about the sparkle, I'll try to remember to mention that when I talk about Primateks from now on :D
I haven’t used any of the lunar colors before since I’m still working on getting the single pigment colors. I don’t know that I would get lunar blue since it can be mixed, though. I haven’t used blue apatite either, lol. If I get either of these it is more likely due to “whole set syndrome” than an actual desire to use them. Thank you for another great comparison video! 👍
I know what you mean. As a friend though, I would have to try and talk you out of going for 'the whole set' with these, because they are so so so so so similar (and also many other colours) that it'll not be worth the money.
Oto Kano I completely agree, and have no plans to add either of these colors to my palette. DS has sooo many other terrific options, and I’ll stick with those. Hmm.. It seems your videos are having an unanticipated benefit for me when it comes to that *Whole Set Syndrome*. I do believe you have discovered a cure for the wallet-draining symptoms of *WSS*!! I wouldn’t be surprised if you were awarded the Nobel Prize for this outstanding contribution to humanity Well done!! *Applause* 🤣
ha ha ha ok I am going to be waiting for an invite to the ceremony! Warms my heart to hear you say that. I struggle with the WSS too (*looking at my holbein collection*) and I feel the only way to combat this is to educate ourselves on its content. Informed decisions for the win!
This was a surprise! I had assumed that these two colors would be a lot more different. But they’re basically twins! I like the granulation of the blue apatite genuine a little more, but not enough to justify the price. I think I’ll just keep adding lunar black to colors for granulation.
I am creating a palette. I have sap green,Venetian red,Quinn deep gold,Aliza crimson, cobalt blue,Hansa yel light, nickel azo yel, perm red,Prussian blue,Payne’s grey, french ochre,it. Burnt sienna, trans brown oxide. What would you recommend to add to these ? Thank you.
wooo new palettes! Yay. OK so my one big tip for any palette is put something together, then painting with it for a while. You'll immediately see where your palette is missing colors and what colors were excess.
Rhodonite is beautiful, as long as you're prepared for the granulation turning a doe coat tan or buff as it oxidizes. :) It's LIGHTfast, but not colorfast.
wow so these are pretty much identical. I've been drawn to Kyanite from the primateks, i've seen varied swatches of it and it always looks different. I think it looks similar to these 2.
Kyanite is a beautiful color, but like other Primatek paints, it has that glittery quality that reminds me of makeup. I bought a tube, but haven't found a use for it yet. Speaking of blue paint, are you still producing Manganese?
Nathan, with the Kyanite, do you find it can be distracting if you put it in an area of a painting? I worry that it would sparkle away on its own and be distracting to the overall thing.
Neither, I have Lunar black and mix it with staining color, when I need undertones. I rarely want to use granulation in my painting, so I prefer having just few granulating colors in my palette that are useful in mixes.
Looks like the Lunar blue is separating but not in a (some times) useful way. Here is looking very dirty in the hp and arches paper, while the primatek one looks as a pure pigment as you can get.
Between the fluctuating white balance and the repetitive, grating music, this video is hard to watch. If you can set the white balance in the beginning and leave it, it would help a great deal. And as for the music, it really is annoying and adds absolutely nothing.
I am not trying to be a "jerk" with my comment. I find Oto's videos quite useful, but they could be better, I want them to be better. It's a technical concern, not a personal attack. When you are showcasing colors, white balance is very important. I find that people overuse music in their videos and it bothers me. I realize that is my opinion, which you may not share. I like the information but the music gets in the way for me. It is distracting and I'm not sure Oto is aware that it has that affect on some viewers. Oh, and it's "you're" not "your". I guess I'm a bit of a grammar jerk.
Hi Nathan, thank you for your advice. I take them fully on board. Especially about the lighting. I tried a new set up and it backfired on me. I didn't notice it until I published the video. The white balance is indeed very important when it comes to showing these paints. I will go back to my usual setting for now, as that seems better.
Hi guys, I am super sorry for the light fluctuating from 3:10 onwards. I tried a new set up with the camera, and it didn't work, and I didn't notice it until I published the video. I will be sure to go back to my usual setting from the next video. Again, apologies.
I noticed but it didn't deflect from the wonderful info.
Thank you Colleen, I appreciate your feedback :) I will still try to be better next time!
I'll go for Mayan blue gen.
I was wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me. Thank you for explaining. I appreciate the video, the lighting was distracting. I’m so sorry. Thank you for your work.

wooooo a rich dark granulating purple sounds amazing. Thank you for the tip! I am going to have to try that :D
Totally agree. I think the granulation of Blue Apatite is much more beautiful and the black in Lunar Blue looks like soot, dirt, ink, or oil crud.
great suggestion, thanks!
I didn't expect these two colors to be so generally similar. Lunar Blue is the "poor person's blue apatite", lol
HA HA HA yes that's another way of putting it. I love that. There are so many DS colours that look like these two with the teeniest tiniest of differences.

Yes, it is a lovely special feeling to know you are using gemstones in your paintings 🧡
It's a marketing gimmick. Primateks use pigments and mica etc like any other paint, their gemstone content is exaggerated.

You are so welcome, and thank you for watching the video!
I've been enjoying your videos and the wealth of pigment information you share - so valuable! I *need* to get a tube of DS Moonglow and I "blame" you for enflaming my art supply hoarding tendencies LOL
As for these two colors, the warmth of the lunar blue is a turn-off for me. I haven't looked up the price difference, but would probably reserve the Blue Apetite foe personal pieces that need the cooler tones and for commissions for serious collectors who prefer work that features the rare and unique. That being said, lunar blue COULD be useful for stormy waves...
Another great video, I love this series, I hope there will be more to come. I am so glad I found your channel
Aw thank you, and thank you for watching these videos. Yes, I think there definitely has to be a season 2!
This series is very informative for me. Thank you so much.
Excellent review thank you. The only difference that I find, lunar blue react to uv light and shine
Great experience! They look almost same.
Do you have in your plans to review lunar black and black tourmaline? Transparency + black in watercolour sounds tempting and fantastic. Is it really so? To achieve dark values with transparency...
Hi Yulia, I'll definitely note your suggestion and keep it in mind when I plan season 2!
Kathryn, to be fair, 20% off is always a good reason, not silly at all! I don't think you're missing out much by having one and not the other.
I really don't care for either of these colours, too be honest, but I love watching these colour showdowns.
I actually enjoy the shades it creates with the yellows and reds, using those for shadows would be amazing. I think I prefer the genuine, but for the price I might settle for lunar blue.
I'll definitely choose Lunar Blue!!☺️
I would choose neither! I would buy a tube of Lunar Black and mix it with some phthalo blue I already own. I imagine I could make a lot of apatite colors by mixing with Lunar Black!
wise choice :)
Can i recreate the blue apatite by mixing sodolite gen. + mayan dark blue/ mayan genunine. My local store been out of apatite genuine for months
I bought Lunar Black, so I can make Lunar Blue if I want.
That's a great decision, I wish I had done that! 😂
Oto Kano I almost bought the blue anyway because it is so stunning. The granulation is so amazing. Love your videos!
It is a very pretty color indeed. Thank you, and thank you for watching them :D
Thank you! The intensity is so low in both paints. Once again you saved my pocketbook from purchasing a color that I'd never really use.
I’m loving this series, can’t ask about specific colours as I’m still taking everything in to get my first set, both options aren’t cheap here so I guess it would be down to the actual prices etc xxx💕
What colours are in your first set so far?
Oto Kano I haven’t purchased anything yet lol, it’s still all on pieces of paper and lots of screen shots xxx💕
So glad the video was useful to you :D I too did the 238 dots, but sometimes you need more than a teeny dot of paint to really get to know a colour.
Oto Kano Agreed! All of your videos have been great! 😊
Aw thank you so much Linz, and thank you for watching them :D
Thankyou for your videos!
You have now covered almost every single color I was planning on purchasing (Sugilite Genuine is the only one left) :D Between you and Inliquid Color's color spotlight series, all paints interesting to me are covered 😎
I wanted to ask about Lunar Blue's formula - do you think it will have a similar effect if you mix Lunar Black and Phthalo Blue by yourself? I was wondering if mixing pigments BEFORE adding in the binder and mixing ready-made colors from tubes are different. I've seen people try and imitate Rose of Ultramarine but it is never the same. The separation seems different when Daniel Smith mixes pigments first and later adds the binder. Wondering if that's the case with Lunar Blue...
So glad Denise and I are covering good ranges for you :D
I know what you mean.
Oh good to know, thanks! Do you find Lunar Black useful (if you own one)? Does it have similar effect with other nongranulating staining colors?
everart okelli Thanks so much for the reply 😊 Will check out Sandy's art.
The mixes with Blue Appatite 😍
Blue Apatite increases motivation and builds up energy reserves. It helps overcome self-consciousness and alienation, and promotes openness and social ease. It is beneficial in easing sorrow and anger, and in reducing irritability and emotional exhaustion
Just had to add this fun info
Promotes social easy? OK I NEED THIS NOW.
Must get me some of this!
Ugh I wish I saw this before I purchased both. I just put them them by side and thought my eyes were deceiving me lol
Thank you for asking about the sparkle, I'll try to remember to mention that when I talk about Primateks from now on :D
thanks!
Blue Apatite Genuine seems richer to me, in color. Both are nice.
Lunar blue
Portrait of the year
I don’t think I need either of these since I am just building my professional watercolor palette. Thank you!
I envy your willpower ☺️
Love this series
Aw thank you, and thank you for watching it :D
I have Lunar Blue so I’ll stick with the cheaper one :)
I love the romance attached to the ptimatech :) Otherwise why not mix your own lunar black ?
I have to confess, me too. Even though most primatek colours can be reproduced easily with non-primatek ones, I keep wanting them 😅
This was a surprise! I had assumed that these two colors would be a lot more different. But they’re basically twins! I like the granulation of the blue apatite genuine a little more, but not enough to justify the price. I think I’ll just keep adding lunar black to colors for granulation.
I wish I had done this too! Many people say they just mix lunar black to things and I think it's very wise.
They's so similar! And honestly with how bad they are at mixing I'll probably never get either one.
I have both colors. If didn't I go for lunar blue. Rhodenite is really beautiful and amazonite.
Yes! I just got Rhodenite myself and it is so lovely 🧡
The Kyanite is warmer and less grey, and unlike these, it’s very, VERY sparkly. There’s no real sparkle in the blue apatite at all.
Yes there are many many colours that looks similar to these two colours. Mayan Blue Genuine is another one. So many so very similar colors....
I'm really not sure how I'd feel about having oddly sparkly areas within my paintings. I worry that it would really stand out and be distracting. 🧐
Nathan, with the Kyanite, do you find it can be distracting if you put it in an area of a painting? I worry that it would sparkle away on its own and be distracting to the overall thing.
I would go with Lunar Blue simply because the cost.
I’d choose the one made with a rock, depending on its esoteric properties and if it is good for detailing spells and creating ceremonial tools.
I think mayan blue genuine looks also really close to that blue and granulate🤔 just try if u have it
Are you still enjoying the Mayan Blue Genuine? It's been on my to-consider-list.
Neither, I have Lunar black and mix it with staining color, when I need undertones. I rarely want to use granulation in my painting, so I prefer having just few granulating colors in my palette that are useful in mixes.
Woooo not played with Lunar Black yet. Your plan does sound more sensible! 😅
Hmmmm I think I am going to have to take you guys' advice and try out Lunar Black. Thank you!
Lunar Black is also magnetic, those tiny particles will arrange differently, if you hold magnet under paper.
OMG I didn't know that! I wondering if that makes Lunar Blue magnetic too....
This is exactly what I do!
Looks like the Lunar blue is separating but not in a (some times) useful way. Here is looking very dirty in the hp and arches paper, while the primatek one looks as a pure pigment as you can get.
Blue Ap attire genuine please
I love your channel.. that’s all😊!
Grinding up precious stones seems a little wasteful to me.
Why are you painting colors other than the two you are comparing?
lunar blue all the way.. save my mulas
Please reconsider changing or removing your ‘music’ accompaniment. Its unchanging tones drove me away from an excellent presentation.
Between the fluctuating white balance and the repetitive, grating music, this video is hard to watch. If you can set the white balance in the beginning and leave it, it would help a great deal. And as for the music, it really is annoying and adds absolutely nothing.
Nathan Meier your a jerk
As you are so clever with words, surely you could of said it in a much more positive way.
Lunar blue
Good choice 👍
