This entire album ‘Polygondwanaland’ is full of polyrhythms and interesting time signatures. Good analysis, I really like KGATLW, although it depends on which albums, there are some that I just discard them after having listened to them only once. This track is one of the ones I like the most, although with the pace of their recordings it's very difficult to keep up with them ;) I understand that you are not a big fan of "Avant Garde", personally I can enjoy a lot with the strangest experimental music, although others I can't stand, but I wouldn't say that KGATLW are "Avant Garde", I recognise that they experiment a lot, although they usually stay within quite "conventional" parameters hehehehe. This band has evolved so much in recent years. 5 year old video, they all look like babies. Looking forward to more recent live reactions to these guys
Damn, can't believe i missed my own recommendation but yeah, these guys are prolific with 25+ albums under their belt with genres ranging from Hard, pyschdelic, Surf, Anatolian, Kraut, Jazz, Progressive rock to Stoner, Thrash, Heavy metal & some Synth pop/rap in there as well. All that yet they sound refreshing and nuanced with every release, ROCK CHAMELEONS indeed!!!
very rarely I'm glad I'm not a musician because I can simply listen to a song and decide if I like or not, that's all. no counting no analyzing, just like or no like.
These guys discography is insane, 25 albums, changing genres each album nearly, their album Nonagon Infinity is front to back incredible, every song flows in to one another and the album can be repeated as a loop with the end flowing in to the beginning again, their trash metal album Infest the Rats Nest is legit maybe better than any of the big 4 did in that style, their metal album PetroDragonic Apocalypse is simply stunning music, 7 songs, all killer no filler. Its worth listening to "Dragon" or "Hell"
You’re not a fan….yet. Listen to more than the 3 or 4 songs you’ve reacted to. You might like their heavier metal records. Dragon has been mentioned or Gila Monster would be a good start.
