Congratulations dude, you have just discovered the most awesome and prolific rock band of the last decade, straight from Australia. 20 albums since 2012 plus a whole lot of EPs and live records. It's all excellent. Every album has a different genre, from acoustic pop to jazz to psychedelic garage to trash metal to spaghetti western audiobook to microtonal rock. I highly recommend you take a dive and choose one song at random from each of their albums, even if you don't do it on video! This song was off the Polygondwanaland album, and the theme of that album is polyrythmic prog...
I really enjoyed the heck out of this. The odd timing, repeated modal theims, 60/70’s psychedelic sound etc. a bit surprised a huge Zapper fan didn’t dig it that much. Dave’s commentary was fantastic never the less. Thanks guys. ❤️
You’re pretty much where I was with KGLW about 8 months ago. I hope you give them a deeper dive, for their vocabulary is wide and varied. Honestly, I recommend going through their discography chronologically. You nailed it when you mentioned Zappa; he’s their closest comparison both in terms of genre-shifting and sheer output.
They do lots of genre besides Progressive pysch like Boogie pop, Anatolian rock, Desert rock, Surf rock, Hard Rock, Thrash Metal, Pysch rock, Jazz rock, Synth Pop, Spoken word just to name a few and have accumulated 20 studio albums in less than 10 years they've been active One of the most influential rock band of the modern era
You should check out their tracks from their Microtonal albums such as : If not now then when? Sleep Drifter Static Electricity Doom City Nuclear Fusion
Fucking love these blokes. Even though you weren't blowing them by the end of the video, like I see in every other reaction, you still had me laugh out loud several times. Fuck yeah dude. Subbed.
I just knew the commentary on this one was going to be amusing. I was not disappointed. At some point people start throwing weird stuff at reactors just to see what they'll say. Try sticking some BlackPink or some other K-Pop/J-Pop thing in front of him. Love to see that.
I think back in the day, before videos and mtv, this would kind of be the perfect thing to put on in your bedroom while you were hanging out with your friends, and perhaps "partaking" and reading the liner notes. For me anyway =)
Dear australia, you guys are nuts! :-) King Gizzard is Definitely a cool, experimental genre bending band and all over the map. I dig them. This one had a middle-eastern vibe and sounded like some prog from the 70s at times for sure. Here's one for Dave to check out from supergroup Becker, Bogert, and Appice from their second UNRELEASED ALBUM. Unfortunately, the production is far from great but the funk and drumwork cannot be denied. Its the track, Satisfied th-cam.com/video/kSMGidsaf3U/w-d-xo.html

One of the most influential rock band of the modern era
They played 3, 3 hour marathon sets at red rocks and sell out almost every venue in a month or 2, small but very dedicated fanbase
Track after that is great too it feeds in perfect
