- In this video I cast a StarCraft 2 match between Dark, a Korean Zerg player, and Cyan, a Chinese Protoss player. Dark tries to overwhelm Cyan with his aggressive and relentless attacks, but Cyan manages to defend and counter with his superior army and technology. Watch as Dark’s overconfidence backfires and Cyan pulls off what almost looks like a comeback in this match of SC2.

Well it's always amazing to me how small the replay files of these games are, with 30 mins gameplay, hundred of thousands player actions, thousands of units and all their actions too. Show how optimized starcraft 2 is
Yeah I agree. At first it sounds odd, but then starts to make sense. The replay is literally using only data. All graphics and such are created by your client.

You could fit them a 3.5" Floppy Disc.. they were 1.4mb.

For me its after work every day. Every night come home at around 11 pm, play a couple hours of video games with the boys, make a bowl of ramen noodles, eat it at my computer desk while watching a lowko cast (I do put every cast on the metaphorical "big screen" and give it my full attention from beginning to end - I 'member lowko was wondering about that)
And then I shut down the computer and head to bed! it's been my nightly tradition every single night for at least a year or more now.

Another funfact about 2v2: You can actually mine gas if your ally builds an assimilator on your gss. So you can build gasses for your teamates:)

Lowko great cast! id like to mention cyan's dark templar in his main shutting down the nydus! far better than a cannon because dark thought the area was ungaurded and probably wasted 3 for 4 times the resources cyan spent on the dt
Great to see a Protoss win PvZ for once. Looks like not going to Skytoss is what's truly required for Protoss. Their air units are strong, but too easily countered, and Protoss don't have any way to shutdown those counters.

Just some advice, you don't have to say "I don't mean any disrespect" every time you compare two players. There's nothing disrespectful about it at all and anyone who would think otherwise isn't worth trying to reason with anyways.

Always tend to support the underdog, thus, it was a very nice game!
But to be fair to Cyan, he really seemed prepared. You could tell he was never surprised by any moves, he was reading Dark like a book!
Or stream busting, at that point (j/k, I trust players by default).
Really good WORK on his side. A little bit of underestimating by Dark but honestly we all did.

I can imagine developing a machine learning algorithm that automatically analyzes StarCraft II replays, using variables such as player actions, micro/macro strategies, and unit compositions to identify and filter out only the most engaging and worthwhile moments.
u could, but with how dedicated the community is, you don't need that. Casters always watches the entire tournament and they get recommended by vierwers as well. Ladder matches? Bronze league hero.

Not sure why this replay was so large, unless time warp is the reason(doubt, but the number of them is the only drastically unusual thing I noticed about it), but it was fun to watch fs

just need to optimize the building placement to funnel or block banes, honestly there is no reason not to block workers in, when its time to move them, either kill a building, recall them directly to empty nexus or use a prism... but better than losing hundreds off drones :P
also a LOT more shield bats, if banes blow up 2 shields together its still profit and they buy so much time when healing each other units and nexus ^^
oc behind nexus and nexus will tank a 60 supply army untill the shieldbat oc runs dry ^^

i had no clue i could repair other units and I was in a team game and my allied protoss destroyed all my command centers at like 10 mins in because I didn't heal his army :(

Hey Lowko- regarding the occasional/accidental "rewinds" have you considered the other method of switching to a player's vision - double tapping 1 or 2?

22:27 all mothership need to be good is +4 range on everything, and a stop attack like ht got; but instead of making it so dumb and useless and wasted opportunity to give HT some much needed umpfS compared to their lore when looking at other spellcasters (a ht will ruin anything but the biggest and baddest and even here they can properly explode themselves killing an ultralisk in their last attempt.
dark archons, sigh, miss them; could have given them the targeting from the red campaign sentries; some with mothership. just give it the targeting at tempest range, meaning it will by nature never wonder in front of your army and it will always be at the safer distance and as a fallback, unless manually brought close or done so to take out longer ranged units hiding.
..
it makes me sad how weak all the big stuff becomes.. ofc. we dont want CC lvl super units; but i dont mind each having something unique endgame, like p mothership, t nukes, z bigball of death i guess, i liked the free unit ideas but yer competitive it need to be sc1 or as close as so yer... maybe sc5 will allow us to move more to cool lore stuff and less to 1994 design ideas for one of the earliest great rts's ^^
