I haven't had a bad life but I haven't stepped outside my comfort zone a real lot. Can't change that now but I can change what's to come. You two are inspiring.

After watching an episode there was extra joy in me that wasn't there at the start of each episode, it makes each day better. I was surprised how quick your trip to Australia was, especially given that you love surfing and have friends here. You just cant make a mistake by traveling young! We always travelled but now in our early 60,s are so glad we travelled young, leave it too late and you get too comfortable at home. The secret is to ( other than a house) "stay out of debt" and stay together! By staying out of debt and staying together you realize you can come and go as you choose! People should stop buying new cars the biggest waste of money, Make your biggest purchase in life the world! We settled in Western Australia :)

My daughter is 18 now and we going on a family trip next year to New York as its been a place she's always wanted to go. We can't wait. Hope you get to come back to Australia soon.

Goodonya guys 🎉 I'm born and bred Western Australian, but was also lucky enough to have parents that had the means to spend 4 months of every year travelling through the vast remote regions of this great country throughout the 70's, 80's and early 90's whilst these lands were still relatively untravelled and without any modern technology to help us navigate and survive. You are extremely blessed to have this record of your lives with cameras/videos and TH-cam etc to look back on, as all I have is a few faded Polaroids and fading childhood memories 😢 I totally understand your decisions and can relate to how your beautiful children are going to grow up appreciating the opportunities that you have both given them. It might not be obvious now, but I did the same with my own children and they are practically indestructible and highly independent now that they are in their teenage years..... which is what I passed onto them from the same experiences from my own childhood. Well done to you both and super happy for your big decisions to do the best for you and your family ❤ You are both very strong and resilient people, and you are sending a positive message to others to have the strength to live life as it should be lived! Brisbanite here. Your memories are more precious looking back than any amount of money could ever compensate. Better to see it for real now, rather than on a flat screen tv in your 70's and regret you are no longer fit enough to go. I've only been to 75 countries but know others who are in the 140 to 170 countries range. Power to them. There are 195. Oh and I visited Grand Canyon , Mesa Verde, Yosemite & Moab in the US. Maybe you can have a holiday from a holiday in Australia sometime. North Qld or Uluru in July/August, or Tasmania / Victoria in January.
You will not regret this one bit, this will be one of the best years of your life. If you love outdoors, check out Nepal they have great hiking trails. You can also go to Greece. Are you coming to South America anytime?
