@@camouflageartist8897The reason I wouldn’t move to Africa is because of some of its underdeveloped infrastructure and blackouts, the weather is too hot, not being able to get certain products, lack of conveniences, and it’s too far away from family. Some of these are the same reasons why I wouldn’t move to Iceland. If I did move out of the country, it would probably be to Mexico bc I already am familiar with the language and it is cheaper than the U.S., yet right next door. Canada wouldn’t work bc is too expensive, and I want to live around a BIPOC-ish community.

Modern day Blacks have no idea what "racism" is. The moments of prejudice and bigotry one will experience are far and few between. And to make matters worse, the overwhelming majority of Blacks experience more intra-bigtory and intra-prejudice from other Blacks, than they do from non-Blacks. Black Baby Boomers and Silent Generation can say they lived through true racism. Gen X'ers, Millennials, and Gen Zs cry racism for sport, because in their minds, it's the "Black thing to do", and to create an excuse why the world hasn't given them what they've been told by Blacks and others, they were entitled to.
And I've lived overseas, and the American Blacks, notably the women be on some bullsh*t. When they are in the states, they claim they are under so much pressure to adhere to the status quo, materialism, they can't do this, they can't do that, but then when they go overseas, they things they refused to do in the US, they magically have an interest in.
Hiking and seeing the wonders of the earth was beneath you in the US, but get overseas and now you want to be Ms. Walk of the Earth?

Mindset is the key. If we continue to tell ourselves we are victims to something that probably isn’t happening we begin to believe it. I have watched many videos of people being arrested in the US and it seems that law enforcement has a fear of arresting black criminals due to whatever reasons. Yet if one looks at the statistics in the US a white person is more likely to be gunned down by law enforcement. The media will have one believe anything that brings division.
It’s not unusual for males to move out of the country. They tend to believe they can find females overseas who are more gullible to the American man. Especially if the male likes to put up a front of wealth.

So I'm Chinese by ethnicity, but because my father was a Chinese diplomat in Brussels at the time, I was born in Belgium. And I've lived in many countries in Europe, North/Cental/South America and a couple of years in Taiwan.
I've encountered racism but mostly it didn't bother me. By the time I was an adult, I had become a Chinese-American, a college grad, got drafted in the Sixties, so Vietnam was my war, received an honorable discharge, went back to grad school, became an aerospace engineer, retired, and now am a father and grandfather.
My feeling was that we're all the same in the sense that we all want to live a clean life, a peaceful life, and leave this earth a better place than we found it. But with climate change, I'm afraid that the world is becoming far more dangerous, unstable, and corrupt.

@@cuoredolce29 Oh that's a cool mix! Wow that's really nice if you can get the citizenship! I love Sweden, when I grew up I really wanted to live elsewhere but when you are a kid you don't appreciate the things you have the same way haha. But it's a beautiful country, we are experiencing criminality here now in a way that we didn't before and there is more polarity growing in the country which is unfortunate and it makes it feel less safe, but I still like it. There are things I don't like and things that are wonderful, there is no perfect place on earth. The Netherlands seems nice but if you like nature it's kind of crowded there, this is what is so great with Sweden because we have a lot of forests and nature it's not so populated as the Netherlands for example. Sweden and Italy is very different, as the north of Europe and south Europe is so different. I love the culture in the southern countries in Europe, because it's more open and warm, people are out more on the streets at night, it's more like in Brazil. In Sweden things can close early in the evening so that's a bit boring haha, but not everything closes early, it's still earlier in general than what it is in warmer countries. It gets really hot during the summers in Italy so I think tourism to northern countries during summer is going to grow in the future. Have you been to Italy before? We loved living in Iceland, once we were used to the climate. We lived in Keflavik. Our number one son was born there so it was a very special and happy time. I really enjoyed my time there. The weather can be “iffy” at times but we were told to not sit around waiting for “good weather”, but to make plans and “just go and do it”, whether it’s a trip to Reykjavik or finding a place to camp, which, I never thought I’d be camping in the snow, but a group of us did it and had a blast. The locals were pretty nice too. I loved the hotdogs called pilser, made from goat or sheep. While I was pregnant I craved them, and the fish called Issa was the best I’ve ever tasted. Some of our Icelandic friends worked on a fishing vessel and would bring us a fish which was so huge it made many many meals. I know how good cit feels young lady.

    New Yorker here 👋🏾
As a black person living in America, You're just a walking Stereotype everywhere you go. So if you have the courage, the time, and of course the money To move to another country/another environment? Do it! And with all the chaos going on in America, It may be a great idea to leave anyway.

I'm a new yorker and staying a different state for 3 months was super refreshing for me. I am currently unemployed and struggling financially and mentally so I am pretty depressed. I am back at home in NY with my family but my dream is definitely to leave this country. I am just soo dependent on my parents and they get anxious when I leave so It's scary. I am scared but miserable being here.

@@camouflageartist8897 You know, Africa is a CONTINENT, not a country, right? Exactly which COUNTRY in Africa do you recommend? Nigeria? Kenya? Sudan? Tanzania? The Democratic Republic of Congo? Ethiopia? Chad? Egypt? Algeria? On and on! They are all unique in their own way. It sounds ignorant to lump them all together into an amorphous place that one could suggest is one size fits all. But then again, realizing the things you’ve said to black American posters in this thread, the question is moot. What town in Troll Land do you hail from? Just curious, so that I can avoid moving there.

We went to the Blue Lagoon. I swear it felt like we were on another planet with the big mossy rocks and bright blue geothermal lakes. Reykjavik looks like an Euro city. I want to go back one day to see more nature.

Related to the race issue she discussed; I'm glad to hear that she hasn't experienced racism. From my observations, there may be some prejudice in a foreign country but it usually just stems from lack of understanding. People in those countries don't have a reason for any racial animosity. Different from the US, where racial issues are deeply rooted in society.

But as a man I’m always thinking “yeah , it’s nice… until Russia decide it ‘wants your land’” and then you’re looking for a “new small cute country”, because you have no real milataristic infrastructure and have to depend on a big brother ally. As for now I’ll keep these places for visits.
