I'm gonna buy one. I need to change the clutch in my car, along with some suspension components. The subframe will have to come off, so I want to have that power at my disposal in case I have some stubborn bolts/nuts.
I think I'm going to wait until the sales begin, though. Hopefully Black Friday will bring good deals.

I've have the big impact for over a year now and it never ceases to amaze me but I am looking to buy a mid size since that would handle 99.99% of my jobs between working on cars and things around the house. Less bulky and enough torque to get the job done. Definitely a must have.

The mid torque is by far the best bang for the buck , the stubby (m12) or the compact is a very close second and the high torque is like trying to hunt squirrels with an RPG when it comes to automotive work lol honestly the only thing I've really NEEDED the high torque for is rusted in crank bolts or heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment most of the time I use the stubby for cars and trucks as large as ram 3500 diesels and anything I can't get with the little guy the mid torque breaks no prob ! But get yourself a set of jdtco shock straps for the batteries it will prevent the batteries from become loose and worn and they're really cheap and effective the boots are also a really good investment however Milwaukee is really good about their warranty

    • @joehertel8846
      @joehertel8846 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Get yourself the regular ratchet and the m12 stubby in 3/8 spring for the fuel 1/2 inch ratchet high speed or extended reach , the m12 die grinders are awesome and work really well and grab the 1/2 inch mid torque for heavy stuff unless your doing heavy diesel equipment in which case the high torque in 1/2 inch is your best bet , the mid torque will work for some of it but I feel like it's straining the tool when you use it for that application but for most cars and trucks I use my m12 stubby 3/8 and the m12 ratchet the most and the mid torque only for really stubborn stuff the high torque will snap wheel studs right out if youre not careful with it though just fair warning lol

The right angle impact is awesome for suspension and bumper work. The m12 stubby and m18 compact are also great choices. They’re both powerful enough to take off most lug nuts. The mid torque is a nice back up tool but honestly I’d say get one of the smaller ones and a breaker bar. The high torque is overkill for automotive. It’s just too bulky and heavy for constant use.

As always a well done and informative vid. However I disagree if you can only have one go High Torque. The High Torque will get the stubborn fasteners that the others may not be able to tackle and prevent you from having a bad day. The other tools are great as well but relative to the High Torque model they're more for convenience. The compact, Stubby and Mid-Torque will help you work faster but a good ratchet set/open box wrenches can usually tackle what they do. That being said I own a variety of them.

I just now ordered a new Milwaukee 2863-20 1/2" Impact gun wrench with the One-Key for use in our garage where we work on vehicles, tractors, and mowers. Soon I plan on ordering another 1/2" Impact gun wrench but probably one of the Mid-Torque ones, for my wife. I already have several other Milwaukee M18 tools. They are the best that I have ever used. All my other Dewalt, Makita, Ingersoll Rand, Portor Cable and Hitachi cordless tools are in retirement because my Milwaukee are my goto tools. Love the batteries because I can just press the button on the battery and see its charge level. Dont need it in a tool or charger to see if it is charged. And the batteries last a lot longer than other companies batteries. A big plus is that the Milwaukee batters have like a 2 year warranty on them and the impact wrenches , drills and other power tools have a 5 year warranty. I took in a weak battery and a cordless drill to the local dealer who checked the serial numbers and he gave me a new battery and sent the drill of for repair, all for free under warranty. I use these at work where we operate Vermeer grinders to make mulch and on our Cat heavy equipment. The company I work for has several of these 1/2" and 3/4" impact wrenches. They are all Milwaukee. Thats all they use is the M18 type. They ordered a box of the One-Key tags that they are gluing on the all the older power tools and all the new ones they are ordering with have the One-Key built-inside. This is for asset tracking.
Now The 1/2" Milwaukee 2767 will twist off a high quality grade 8 bolt 5/8" diameter if you keep it on the nut too long, like maybe 10-15 seconds depending on if the threads are clean and dry or if they are wet or a little oily. I tried it with a little bit of antiseaze on the threads a new bolt and nut, and a fresh 8 amp battery and when the nut went down all the way it slowed down like it was tight but kept turning and in about 3 seconds it just free spun. I checked and it had pulled the bolt off the head and through the hammer and tooth. I tried it 2 more times over the next few months and same thing happened. Grade 8 bolts 5/8" diameter have little change of surviving a thousand ftlbs torque i guess. We used to have use a 4 foot long 3/4" breaker bar wrench to tighten the grade 8 nut and sometimes with cheeter pipe on that to take the nuts off after running the grinder for 6 hours. The grinders have 14 teeth at 2 bolts each for a total of 28 bolts and nuts. I usually had to change 5 or 6 teeth in the morning and evening. But all the nuts had to be checked twice a shift. Thats 28 nuts to torque and the 8amp battery would do it on full charge before it droped down a light its indicator leds. the 2767 impact wrench made my work much easier. For larger bolts we ordered 2864 3/4" impact wrench and it was a little heavier and we had to be more careful with the 5/8" grade 8 bolts because just a few seconds too long after the nut got tight and it would shear off the head of the bolt . Oh and ya these were expensive grade 8 bolts and nuts we ordered for the Vermeer tub grinders. Cheaper grade 8 bolts and nuts would not last but a couple hours in the chipper mill. So yes I love Milwaukee tools. Now I need to replenish my hand tools with this brand.

I know it’s to late, but I’m a public transportation mechanic and have been looking into Milwaukee for a few weeks now, the think I absolutely love about Milwaukee is the different options for batteries from the m12 up to the m18, I have been using Snap-on impacts for the longest and noticed that the 7.2 battery wasn’t strong enough to make a simple bolt torqued to 100 pounds or less break lose, a coworker took his m18 and just zipped it off as if it was finger tight!!! Anyways Amazing video and definitely going to have to get myself a mid torque impact wrench by Milwaukee to do roadcalls and deplete the whole 100 ft of hoses throughout the shop tripping and causing harm to self!

i just started a new job as a powersports technician, that mid torque 1/2 inch one would be perfect for my needs!

I bought the compact 3/8” and ended up using my arm to get most bolts out, then yesterday I brought home a mid-impact, amazing! Game changer! Now I can see myself finishing dropping the transmission off my pick up truck. But I would love to upgrade to the high torque in the near future, just because! I just don’t want to leave my job halfway done.

I just replaced the struts, bearings, rotors brakes, cv axles, and a motor mount on my daughters car using the m12 stubby. It’s great for the weekend DIYer.

I recently started working as a diesel mechanic and a new high torque impact wrench would make my job much easier making me no longer have to depend on air for getting lugs and other very tight bolts and fasteners off

Working on older vehicles all the time, I always seem to run into those stubborn bolts that don't want to budge or I can't get enough leverage in tight spaces to get them loose and these Milwaukee impact wrenches will definitely make things a lot easier without breaking your knuckles in the process.

I got the Mid-tourqe, ot was part of a Milwaukee mega month sale. I thought I would get the High tourqe later.... I have yet to find a fasteners the mid-tourqe could not do, and I have 2 Ford F450 off warrantee that I do my own work on including changing the tires.

going to ask every mechanics dream impact wrench needs to have programmable torque setting. If i want 10NM or 25 or 50 just punch it in. in this digital age only technical breakthrough is cordless. Time for them to step it up.

The versions of these Impact Wrenches with Milwaukee’s ONE-KEY do have that feature. But you have to access it with the ONE-KEY app.

I do construction/ demo/ and work on cars. I could definitely use the mid torque or high torque. I would use it too take off nuts and bolts. Either stubborn bolts on “I” beam, or on pipe connectors, or lug nuts to other car parts. Thanks again for the chance to win ! I love the show and all of my Milwaukee tools!!

I started my SAE which involves equipment repair, and I could really use the midtorque to loosen axel nuts and stubbern engine mount bolts. (I just started a small business for my SAE and I could really use a midtorque because I can not afford one yet) 1/2 friction ring midtorque

I'm starting a new job soon which involves field repair and maintenance on agriculture equipment. I'll need to purchase several tools and would love to add the biggest M18 impact to the service truck! I'm picking up a hammer drill, 1/4" impact and grinder ASAP. Can't wait to put them to use!
