  • Oh no! You are working on a Farmall H carburetor and you break off the idle jet! Is the casting ruined? What do you do?
Well, don't panic! No worries! This is an easy fix. You just need to know what tools to use.
BTW: This video applies to more than H carburetors. A wide variety of Farmall carburetors apply.

When drilling out the broken brass jet, the drill bit doesn't remove any cast iron. It just removes the brass (but, right up to the cast iron). Then, the tap does the rest of the work. New threads were not made.

Brian thanks for your videos. Did the bolster in the H, feared doing the upper seal from videos you mentioned. Well son of a gun only problem I had was the seal fell down through the casting and I couldn't retreave it. Glad squach posted seal number besides the steiner number. Thanks again

Oh no! But, I am glad you had a good recovery!
This new bolster made such a difference in the H! It was well worth the time and effort to rebuild it. I hope you have the same results. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@@bryanh1944FBH thank you for your reply. Great videos mine not as bad as the 44 H . But you could shake front and hear the space. Waiting for permatex on lower bushing to cure and will install new shaft tomorrow. Difference in removing bolster and doing it in place. Thank you again for your time.
