I'm a few hours in, after you get over that initial difficulty curve I'm really really enjoying. The combat, the enemies, boss design and the music, the music never let's up and it suits the game so perfect
Thanks for the recommendation. The artstyle isnt quite my taste and really dislike the color pallette...that said, I recently fell in love with Zelda 2, playing and actually beating it for the first time, this does look like a cool modern take on it. Hit feedback seems nice. Without the review I would have probably skipped this
No way Shovel Knight is way more cheerful and upbeat, Not a drop of blood or choices that impact the story. I kind of question if you have EVER played Shovel Knight.
@@thespectre3054 That's only an excuse to do a poor art style. I respect your taste. I prefer the art style of Blasphemous is gorgeous and eye candy. For me, this is what an old game needs to aspire to be in the modern era.
If you think it looks uninspired try playing it for more than an hour. The game is terrible and a prime example of a publisher buying positive reviews.
This is like Simons Quest! The way the skeletons move back and forth and also the eyeball monsters
Yup! The day-night cycle is very similar, too.
The Konami code works in game too
a well made Simonds Quest

So glad this turned out well. hoping for a physical copy.
Just grabbed mine at Play Asia, should ship soon.
I feel like the game is more like Faxanadu than Adventures of Link.
cant wait to try this, I hope there are plenty of bossfights
A good number, more depending on what decisions you make during the game!
Iv'e been looking forward to this one for a while now. Will be buying day 1 for sure.
I loved this game so much. Huge castlevania fan so I fell rite in. Anybody know of any other newer games like this?
Blasphemous is a good one, alot of guts and gore to go around.
why are there so many games to play and only sixteen functional hours every day.
man, life is hard in these gaming streets
I feel its inspired more by faxanadu then castlevania 2. The npcs and portraits are carbon copies of that game
i hope it's not to crazy unforgiving like cathedral
I wouldn't say so. Every castle has a save point in front, so even if you die in one you don't get sent too far back.
This looks like so much fun to me, definitely getting this as soon as it releases.
Thank you for this review. It helped me decide to buy the game 😊
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy the game!
Yeah this game is definitely a must play for me. Lmao 😂
awesome review cant wait!
Thanks! You're gonna love it!
Just waiting for the game to go on sale then I will play it
It is worth every penny at full price.
@@cvdinjapan7935 that's cool it's makes it even more worth the wait once it goes on sale

¿Zelda II?, looks more like Castlevania II.
"given the lack of new weapons"
Someone did not played through the game huh?
That picture is both disturbing and awesome
That's what I was going for! Didn't just want to show a simple gameplay screenshot.

This looks great
Only 5 to 6 hours?wish was 10 to 15
Not a lot of these Linear games have this Tume, If you Want to get All The Chevoos it's going to take longer
The main theme and all of the set pieces are way too similar to Shovel Knight.

The art style is not good.
It's based on the classic NES art style, what were you expecting, I personally think this looks fantastic.

its an 8 bit game
the graphics are very amateurish made...
Go play the first NES castlevanias and you may, _may_ notice they look similar. Kinda makes you wonder there's a _reason_ for it, huh.
This looks so uninspired
