    Grab a smart plug from TPlink to connect up a USB hub. TPlink smart plug can be set with a timer to auto-turn off after a set amount of time incase you forget to turn off!

    That's a cool pose you have for Anakin on the STAP. I have him with both feet planted on the STAP - I was too chicken to try anything else. 😁
    After about six years, I'm kinda accustomed to the light sabers not being lit up. Not even sure I will use the new USB ones by Hot Toys.

    Just fyi, it’s not an “actual LED” lighting the CCFL sabers. Different technologies.
    CCFL = Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp
    LED = Light Emitting Diode

      I would recommend only an hour or less, they heat up quick so I normally just turn them on when people want to see them! Thanks for watching

    In my opinion everyone should have these for there jedi/sith. It's like not having reactors for iron man figures, they look dead without it.

    • @Riley.Reviews
      @Riley.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree. The color on the sabers are very light so it almost looks see through. Wish they had more pops of color, it clearly makes the display come to life! Thanks for watching 🤘

  • @TheGentlemanWake
    @TheGentlemanWake ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man, were the wires not long enough to dress behind the figures and go along the bottom of the shelf?

    • @Riley.Reviews
      @Riley.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      What’s up! The issue was that with that specific moducase with anakin inside. I had to flip the board to make it have the open slots on the top rather than the bottom. So it had to go out from the top. I may just punch a hole through the bottom, thanks for watching!

    • @grosen84
      @grosen84 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Riley.Reviews Does the sabers you got have the inverter box? if they do, just run the inverter inside the moducase and hide it inside. If the thin wires from the inverter to the CCFL is too long. the power loose is greater meaning a lower overall brightness in the tube.. However from the power supply and to the inverter you can make the wire longer without much or any issue at all. I have my inverters inside the detolf, and made the power delivery super clean in the back running down the detolf supports. Just need to make some kind og diarama or backdrop to hide the damn green boxes LOL

    • @Riley.Reviews
      @Riley.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@grosen84 never actually considered that. Great point, problem is it’s super hard to get behind my cases now lol. But I may try this down the line! Thank you

  • @JodaMoore
    @JodaMoore ปีที่แล้ว

    Good info but don’t like em. The wires and ends turn me off em. It’s the first thing I notice lol. I remember when they started getting popular. That said it’s impressive what some of these collectors can do.

    • @Riley.Reviews
      @Riley.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally understandable. I can see why that would bother people, the issue I see is that there is no better outcome. That’s exactly why hot toys have moved to the same method: wiring usb light up. Batteries are just too much of a pain and don’t last long enough to be sustainable. Thanks for watching Joe!

    They are really cheap to make you self. i got 8 CCFL's for $40 with 4 inverters. So basicly just needed a 12v power supply and a spare hilt. I took the once from the lightup arms, and removed the old LED and thats about it. They look really good for sure. but they get hot especially in the end due to that thin wire. a thicker wire and they would run alot cooler. but that dont look as good. If you know how to do basic soldering and are willing to use the light up hilt. you can DIY even cheaper

    • @Riley.Reviews
      @Riley.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve actually heard of this. Problem for me is I’m not very handy and wouldn’t want to break anything lol. But totally you can create these for very cheap. Thanks for the advice and thoughts as always Martin 🤘

    • @grosen84
      @grosen84 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Riley.Reviews If you need more saber, just give it a go. worst case you break a CCFL. That will put you back $5. I didn't break any yet. Even the supplys you need are cheap. not much that can go wrong honestly. Metamorphic Customs made a tut about how to do it. its super easy as long as you dont go for the Kylo Ren sabers. You need some skills for that one ^_^ lots of wires and not much space :P Keep the content comming :P
